That gives me a slither of hope that it will be featured in Sony's rumoured State of Play/Showcase this month with potential PSVR2 announcement. I can but dream.
@Ainu20 @Lowdefal If this was just targeting PS5/Xbox Series X I'd concur, but Capcom will also need to factor in many lower spec PC configurations (not exactly their forte) and the Series S too.
While we can agree we want the game to look as good as it possibly can with the RT bells and whistles & a decent framerate, they'd also want to sell it to as many users as possible from a sales perspective and that would mean options.
We're not talking about an indie dev either, they have the resources to offer those options, whether they do or not of course remains to be seen.
@Lowdefal I would hope as with many games with ray tracing there would be an option to turn it off, even if the game is built around the implementation, but hey we're talking about Capcom here and optimisation is not always their strong suit.
The big question for a PSVR2 version is have Sony have funded the extra development cost. If not, pretty sure it won't happen unfortunately.
@roe It's certainly not my usual type of game at all, but tried it on GamePass and ended up buying it on Steam to show appreciation for the Devs. An absolute classic, exciting gameplay, gripping story, superb voice casting, mesmerizing visuals and evocative soundtrack. Just top notch. I'm still rubbish at parrying though even with audio and visual cues!
Seems to be reviewing okay on PC if you go by Metacritic, only 8 reviews but currently at 82 and the lowest being 70. Might try it at some point as it passed me by on PS.
Hoping they do a PSVR2 version in the future, as believe I heard they were planning official PCVR development. I tried a demo with the Unreal Injector Mod on PCVR and it was pretty nice.
@Silenos I recently started a new game when playing on PSVR2 and it's loads easier to get into than it used to be. It's also currently on sale on the PS Store for only £15.99 (UK) until 12th Feb.
Been playing this on PC and it's extremely addictive fun. Even got it working in VR with the UEVR mod for even more immersion. Seems a natural fit for consoles but would be also great for PSVR2 as think official VR might be on their roadmap.
To be fair Jim Ryan only left in March last year, and these games have been in development for years, so the blame still lies with him. If anything Herman Hulst has made the decision to step back from live service by the looks.
Anyway, completely agree with others that both these high caliber studios shouldn't have been wasted making Live Service games. I was really hoping for another excellent single player from Bluepoint in particular. Glad it's been confirmed they are not closing but really hope they are not heavily impacted by layoffs (guessing there will have be some for recruited live service expertise).
@UltimateOtaku91 To be honest that's what I thought. I don't particularly enjoy card games even if they are within other games such as Gwent in the Witcher. However, thought I'd check what the fuss was about as a few friends playing and read a few Steam reviews many of which said they don't normally like this type of game but... Anyway, the short of it is I was very wrong, and find it really difficult to put down. Dismiss it at your peril!
For Kayak VR I'd much rather have had solid native 120fps as think the game looks good enough already. I consider myself a seasoned VR user (PC,Q3 & PSVR1/2) but this is the only game on PSVR2 that gives can give me motion sickness. I'm fine with the other Whitewater VR Kayak game on PC so not the type of game.
@FuriousMachine Just ordered, thanks for the recommendation. At the rate I read books these days though, this game will release before I get past chapter one!
Still can't get my head around why this isn't releasing for PS4 with such a massive installed userbase and considering the type of game it is too. Can't be technical reasons with it coming out on Switch too. Baffling.
@Daleaf Trouble is the more players that think like that, the less likely it's going to be! Unfortunately it's not my type of game as am more of a solo player so was hoping for more Synapse related news myself. Still, hope it does well.
@Vault_Mcfly I am fortunate enough to have a PS5 and decent PC. I play it on PSVR2 a couple of times a week and it's absolutely amazing. It's always nice to have choice, and for other people to be able to experience GT. Sure there's some elitists out there who might scoff that's it's not a 'proper sim' but I'm sure there's plenty of people that would buy it and it would only give Polphony's income a boost for future projects for Playstation (especially since their profits are on the downturn). It's a very generous racer in the amount of content compared to say Assetto Corsas or Automobilista 2 which are both great but have a lot of paid dlc. It's not like Sony hasn't ported other titles to PC either, so don't think it's a taboo subject on here! Also the PC version would look stunning on a good setup.
@colonelkilgore Yep agree, his monumentally pants performance ruined the Roadhouse remake for me, though having the ability to off him does make it slightly appealing.
Well I'll throw a few in and hope some of them stick! More tracks, more real cars, revised microtransactions, dynamic/adjustable weather on all tracks, more single player championships and menus (please). PC version would be nice too.
@Specky The Devs are Camouflaj who made Iron Man VR for PSVR1, but then got bought by Meta so that would explain the exclusivity. We can hope it's a timed exclusive and there's some sort of deal going on like with Beat Saber I guess.
Worth noting that there's over 60 PSVR2 games on sale too, including some of the top ones, but yet again PSVR2 gets ignored unless it's something negative or worthy of clickbait.
@BIG3 As with anything these days it’s been blown out of massive proportion by trolls or clickbaiters. There’s no need to buy anything , the items can be found/earned in game. If you want to take the shortcuts & are willing to pay then the option is there. Now the current performance is another matter entirely…
@RoomWithaMoose You’ve answered your own question there. When you actually play it you’ll know why folks are gushing over it. I usually prefer solo games and haven’t enjoyed a multiplayer game this much in over a decade. The style, the fluidity of solid gameplay, the attention to detail, everything just clicks. Amazing game, even with the launch issues.
@jFug Yeah I saw that o the UK Store, currently on around 4.5/5 stars from over 5.7k users. Guess it might be worth a look, opinions do differ after all. Probably end up agreeing with Liam though.
@Korgon The rumours are it's called Metro Awakening for the PSVR2, however, it's not been ruled out that it's a hybrid title so it can be played both 2d and VR as with the last Resi Evil games. Which would be the best of both worlds, though it's not been mentioned if it's a fully fledged sequel. Fingers crossed!
@Stickleman Wouldn't suck for PSVR 2 owners! Though l like I said, the rumours are it would be a hybrid game as they have done with the Resi Evil games and makes the most sense. Fans without VR still get to play it but the VR owners get the best experience, plus they get revenue from both.
@Sanquine The rumour is one of the PSVR2 titles is a new Metro VR game called Metro Awakening, so fairly big news if so. Could be a hybrid title apparently, which makes sense commercially. Would be nice to have a new Astro Bot announcement too though.
@riceNpea I'm, pretty sure one of the Youtubers mentioned there's a NG+ in one of their previews, but I've seen a few and can't remember which one. They also mentioned there's different ways of completing levels on another playthrough.
Jesus it's not even been out 12 months. Looks like Push Square didn't actually ask many people about their opinion of the PSVR2 outside of clickbaity social media posts before writing this one.
Yes there's been some under-par releases and Yes Sony could do more with remasters and 1st party stuff, but there's an absolute wealth of brilliant titles and you're doing the headset a massive disservice by suggesting otherwise. GT7, C-Smash VR, Synapse, Red Matter 1&2, Hubris, Horizon COTM, Light Brigade, VR Skater, Song & the Smoke, Pavlov etc etc that's without the dozens of titles you miss off your lists coming out in the near future.
Yeah, this clearly has misleading marketing and advertising on the PS Store:
It's described as: "...a high-octane VR flight action game..." & "...Experience everything from the original acclaimed Project Wingman from a thrilling new perspective..." This definitely makes it sound like the game is fully VR, along with it being included on PSVR2 trailers. It's disappointing to be sure and certainly not doing the PSVR2 any favours after other half-baked releases.
@Northern_munkey Apparently, a lot of the previous devs from the Test Drive games worked on this so it might explain some similarities. If you enjoyed TDU then it might be a reason to give it a chance at some point.
Hmm... RE 4 might be worth a punt as been holding out on playing until the forthcoming PSVR2 update, but so many other games coming out, and Resi games are on offer all the time. What to do?!

Hoping for PSVR2 support but keeping expectations very low, given EA's recent track record with F1 23. Still have fond memories of DIRT Rally on PSVR1.
@Diowine I wouldn't hold off your purchase on one review alone, this take is currently the lowest review score on Metacritic with 29 reviews so far. 7 is still a decent score though, and it is just one opinion. Having said that, if you usually agree with Liam's reviews maybe wait on a sale.
Quite enjoyed the first two games in relaxing bouts between other games but don't think I'll bother unless VR support is implemented, though from the developer's comments, it's not on their roadmap. Shame as it would be an ideal candidate.
@gamiller1978 I did enjoy it too, and while there are some nice ideas, such as the blink mechanic, compared to the original it's lacking in both level design and pacing. The game seems to forget you're actually on a rollercoaster for the most part. Lots of segments where nothing much is going on action wise but it's not doing anything to make those parts interesting either. These are the sort of areas that would have lifted it in the genre. After trying it with the patch it certainly doesn't improve these concerns but it's still enjoyable and does look better and loading times are also improved. Still pop-in though, especially bad on end credits (where there's very little going on). Kudos to the devs for implementing the patch, though it should never have launched in the state it did.
@somnambulance I'd imagine Capcom would see it as being pretty would destroying at least, not their usual top tier percentages. Personally I think it's fun it short bursts, but got bored really quickly.
I was really excited for this before release as I love the art style and the previews seemed intriguing. After playing, however, all I can say is thank god for Game Pass. Unless the Devs have updated it to make it interesting and, enjoyable then they can keep this one on Xbox for me.
@Triumph741 That's a little condescending tbh. I've been gaming since the 80s and have tried pretty much most gaming devices since then. While no expert, I have a pretty good grasp of the gaming industry. I love playing games on a flat screen (and don't care on which platform) but VR is a really exciting technology and offers gamers a completely different immersive experience.
I also didn’t say VR was not niche and appreciate it's not for everyone, if you've tried it and don't like or can't use it then fair enough, it's not for you. However, really bores me when people try to crap on other people's bonfires in these threads.
I'm not really directing this at your comments, and understand people are entitled to their opinions, but some seem intent on going out of the way to be contentious about what others are obviously excited about and into and committed to telling everyone their device is going to fail like they don't want gaming to move forward or just love trashing on people. It's the same with the stupid console wars. It's just so pathetic and immature and I don't get it.
I also don't think VR or any gaming have to be a graphical powerhouse or complex to be fantastic, immersive, fun gaming experiences. Something like Beat Saber or Pistol Whip could maybe work in flat screen but it's so much cooler in VR and that's basic graphics and simple gameplay. Equally, there's HL Alyx or Red Matters and Resident Evil Village from the other perspective. Sorry for ranting, I'm just passionate about gaming and the more ways people can play and enjoy them is just fantastic and not to be hated on like some seem intent on doing.
