Noooo, give us a new IP or at least a sequel please Naughty Dog. It’s been nothing but remakes and remasters for best part of 3 years now. Just seems like a massive waste of the talent over at ND.
It’s excellent. SF6 was one of my most played games last year and I thought there’s no way Tekken would top it. Still too early to say but it might do just that for me.
Tekken 8 and Infinite Wealth mostly. I completed TLOU2 for the first time last night after being reinvigorated by the remaster. Emotional to say the least but now that is done I will dip into No Return.
@Kidfunkadelic83 You can get some fairly cheap 2 star gear in the shops roughly near where you started and then if you have some iron you can upgrade those pretty effectively at the workshop (I cheated and googled where to get the gear I wanted). They will definitely get you through the 2 star bit you are at and then you will unlock the labyrinth shortly after which someone else has mentioned as a good way to get cash and level up.
It is a bit stingy with the money early doors but I have found wandering around and doing the general activities as you go gives you some half decent gear. What’s her face at revolve gives you some pretty good stuff every time you hit an aloha links milestone which is pretty often.
A good game that I feel was overhyped because it was shadow dropped and because it was the first quality Xbox exclusive after a long drought. It will be good for PS and Switch players to experience it but I also think a lot are going to be left wondering what all the fuss was about.
Oh man I loved Planet Coaster (albeit until I spent days building a park to find there was a build limit half way through creating my magnum opus)….looking forward to this!
I haven’t played it yet but have bought it because I have some time off next week and fancy something fresh. Looking forward to giving it a go it looks awesome.
@jedinite I’m not lying because I’m not talking solely about that article. I’m talking about the months of articles surrounding Baldurs Gate 3 where I have seen some form of that comment or very similar, many times. Same thing happens with plenty of other games particularly in the Indie and AA space the moment something is announced that’s not on GP. Can you honestly tell me you haven’t seen an increasing number of these comments over the last 2 years or am I going to have to ask you why you’re lying?
@DennisReynolds The amount of “I will never play this game unless it’s on gamepass” comments on Pure Xbox is exactly the reason they are going to see more and more games skipping the platform. They already have the smallest user base of any console and on top of that the players aren’t willing to actually buy games and support developers. But the moment a game skips Xbox everyone is up in arms…it’s genuinely infuriating to see.
No thanks! If subscription-only is the route the console market goes down it would be the driver for me to finally fork out on a decent gaming PC. I can’t see them ever getting away with this rubbish where the master race is concerned.
Really well deserved. I’ve said it here countless times before but what SF6 does better than any other fighting game I have played is constantly push you to be better and gives you almost of the tools you need to do so. On top of that it’s got a huge amount of single player content, a varied character roster, an amazing community and beautiful graphics.
If I could make one change I would add the feature from recent MK/injustice games where you can select the inputs for basic combos and moves to appear during fights (although not in ranked). My memory is not what it used to be and this feature really helps when learning a new character. Oh and some more (non paid) customisation options for base characters wouldn’t go amiss but for pure gameplay it’s easily jumped it’s way to my GOAT.
@Darth_Stofi FromSoftware has always released really solid DLC for the souls games. They are usually dense levels with a fair amount of interesting stuff to do and collect. With Elden Ring being the pure masterpiece that it is, people are excited for a reason to dive back in and given From’s track record you could comfortably put money on it being a high quality expansion.
Some more day one releases on PS Plus Extra to justify the price hike. They don’t need to be AAA they just need to be decent games or something a little different like Stray, Humanity and Tchia.
I’ve been wanting to give Session and Hardspace a go. I already own Resi 2, shadow tactics, Just Cause 3 and Tiny Tina but I try to look at these monthly games based on the quality of the additions as opposed to whether I personally own them or not and I think its a pretty solid month.
If you absolutely want the most bang for your buck with PS+ the key is to never buy games and then you will almost never be disappointed. If Sony just adds games no one buys every month then it will just be pure crap quality and everyone would still complain.
I absolutely know it’s not going to happen but Helldivers 2 being announced day one on PS Plus Extra would be awesome….come on Sony make an old man (and his wallet) very happy.
@PaperAlien I support this message. I got killed by Nicki Minaj in CoD the other day….just why?
To be fair though no one is being forced to part with their money for these silly cosmetics and the cynical perspective is that the gaming industry is there to make money just like any other industry. We all like to think games are being developed purely for the love of the gaming and in some indie cases this might be correct but for the most part a game was created with the sole purpose of making a rich company richer.
Top show. The wife really enjoyed it as well and she has little to no interest in Last of us or Zombies. As for Mr Offerman he is a living legend who is amazing in anything he is in. You get your flowers Nicholas!!
I’m still plodding my way through Alan Wake 2. I love it but can’t play long spells at a time. Aside from that I have a co op game of Mario Wonder with the wife which we will continue.
Like a dragon is a definite and I am becoming more interested in Prince of Persia. Just noticed Rise of Ronin and Dragons Dogma release very close to my birthday as well soooooooo 🥳
I was hoping the “everything is woke” brigade would all die out within the next 15-20 years but it seems muppets like Andrew Tate are creating a whole new generation of closed minded sad acts. The crazy part is these people have the audacity to call everyone else snow flakes when they are the ones offended by a female/gay/ethnic minority etc protagonist in a frikkin video game. Why do they care so much it doesn’t affect them in the slightest?!
@Czar_Khastik You speak sense but sense rarely plays into me spending money on games. I will probs get it day one. I have that Friday already booked off work and a free weekend as it stands.
@Mad001 Not sure this is going to be your thing. I heard a rumour that halfway through the prince changes gender and his sword is actually a black female in disguise. Damn lefty’s get their filthy “let’s make the world a better place” paws into everything…am I right brother?
@Dalejrfanfreak The moment you use “leftist propaganda” as a criticism of this game you lose all credibility in my opinion. We live in a world filled with people of different races, religions and sexual orientations and as we become more globalised by the day the entertainment industry is acknowledging that their products are reaching more people and therefore should be more inclusive. Trying to make a wider audience feel more welcome in your game/film/comic is not “leftist propaganda” it’s a positive step forward in a world where these mediums are no longer predominantly consumed by straight white males. It’s insane to be that people can be so upset and offended by the world becoming a more friendly and accepting place.
While I don’t agree with this as a result it was always going to happen. Spider-Man 2 is one of the best selling PS games of the year and has broad appeal. I’ve seen as many comments on here saying they are unsure about getting BG3 as people praising it. When community votes are taken into account the game most people played and enjoyed is going to win because people won’t vote for a game they haven’t played regardless of how well it reviews. Either way don’t let it ruin your day people!
@MrGilly69 It is genuinely a masterpiece but does have a fairly steep learning curve if you don’t know anything about D&D or you haven’t played the Divinity games but it is well worth cracking. I think Divinity Original Sin 2 is on sale atm so might be worth giving that a go first to find out. If you like that you will love BG3 and if it’s not your thing at all I wouldn’t bother.
@Titntin If you are a fighting game fan you owe it to yourself mate! It simply feels amazing to play and constantly pushes you to be better. I have learned more about fighting game mechanics from the last 6 months with SF6 than I have in the previous 25 years of playing them.
I will only get a few hours today before the non stop family & friend Christmas stuff starts so will probably play some Prodeus which I have been really enjoying so far. Deffo not usually my thing and I wouldn’t have bought it in a million years but it’s the perfect PS plus extra game.
@wildcat_kickz being a real gamer is all about gatekeeping fun, belittling other people’s opinions and generally turning your nose up at anything even remotely popular. Basically imagine a hipster who doesn’t leave their parent’s basement.
I haven’t played through a COD campaign in over a decade so couldn’t care less about timelines and continuity but some of that Black ops multiplayer goodness is music to my ears. I can’t put my finger on why but I have always preferred Black Ops entries to the others. I even loved the ones which were generally considered mediocre like Cold War and Blops 3 which I think is still my most played PS game ever.
If it is an option rather than forced I’m all for it. Easy, normal, hard, nightmare and AI mode type thing. If, however, I turn on Spiderman 3 in a few years time and my only option is to play the game at a difficulty AI has decided is most appropriate for me I will not be thrilled.
I didn’t play much Lies of P when it came out because of other massive games releasing so have got back into that on gamepass recently. On the PS will be continuing with Valhalla and Alan Wake 2 which is getting better and better.
In a world of micro-transactions and loot boxes this was a very refreshing addition for free. I was initially dubious about how a roguelike mechanic would work in GoW but it actually fits perfectly. Can’t wait to play more over the weekend
“Go on I will give Valhalla a quick try”…..3 hours later I am still going. It’s just brilliant. What I thought was going to be a gimmicky GOW themed take on a roguelike has turned into a fully fleshed out, thoughtful game in itself. So happy this is free DLC.
This is a really cool feature that never fails to remind me I should probably go outside and touch grass more the following year. No surprise Baldurs Gate is my top played game followed by Street fighter. Great year.
Didn’t watch live because I was fast asleep but was pretty happy reading through the news this morning. The hello games open world and Sega modern versions of classic games were the highlights for me. It seemed like there were more announcements than usual even if a lot of them were just CGI trailers. Just give us some first party news Sony! It’s been super quiet for too long.
