@justerthought At last someone else who gets it. I'm glad I'm not the only one bothered by this and trying to raise awareness and thereby encouraging Sony to respond by .stopping this nonsense.
@kyleforrester87 Yeah no HDR but that's the price I pay for early adoption. That's a nice TV your going to be in gaming heaven. Have you played on a 4k screen before? If not your in for a treat.
@SnowstormX I couldn't care less about the Scorpio that is irrelevant.
You have completely missed the point. Sony stated that Pro games must run equal to or better than the normal PS4. That is their policy and mandate however, thus far only a few have adhered to this. Forget about resolution that is expected from the Pro.
You are the one sounding like a fool with your inability to accept that things are currently not sorted out.
Agreed it is a good console and I am happy with it but also it is frustrating that a lot of these games are preforming worse with regards to frame rate on the Pro. I hope that these are just teething issues and eventually will be sorted.
I just get annoyed with the performance especially after all the SONY comments regarding equal to or better than PS4 frame rate.
@kyleforrester87 I think you'll find that Skyrim is running at 4 x 1080p resolution as it is a native 4k game.
I define it by what SONY themselves stated 'the games should run with equal or better performance than the standard PS4'.
If a standard PS4 console runs a game at a locked 30fps 1080p but the Pro runs the game at 4k but only around 25 - 30 fps then that is worse performance. Not a viewpoint fact otherwise, what is the point of the Pro.
@SnowstormX Where exactly did I say that there were no improvements?
Your the one misleading people not me I simply stated facts and my experience.
You listed 3 games with good support I can list more than 10 with the opposite. I do not find it acceptable that we pay £350.00 for a console that is stated and advertised to deliver a better performance yet clearly doesn't in more than 60% of the titles supported.
I am 75% through TR and yes it looks good at the 4k setting but the frame rate is all over the place and nowhere near 30 at times.
So that's R&C, Fifa 17, Battlefield 1, Titan Fall 2, COD and any others I've missed that actually run better on the Pro. The other Pro supported titles run worse than the original PS4.
@get2sammyb But that is the trouble it isn't a few frames here and there. I played Tomb Raider at the 4k setting over the weekend and the frame rate is an absolute mess, it is all over the place and gets worse the further you get. I doubt that it maintained 30 fps for more than a few seconds at a time.
There are many other Pro supported games with performance issues and frame rate instability.
This is unacceptable in a product that has been advertised in the way it was. PS4 owners were led to believe that the Pro would offer a better experience than the standard PS4. Yes it is early days and there are bound to be teething problems but remember Sony cannot directly fix all these games they are dependant upon the developers.
When Sony state in their own policy that Pro support games must run at the same performance level or better than that of the PS4, and yet they don't then, we have a serious problem.
Sony need to respond to these issues fast. Tell consumers that fixes are on the way etc. This could be very damaging to future and current sales not to mention the returns they could be facing if unresolved.
@dryrain Don't knock them at least they stuck their necks out and gave an honest assessment of the current game's state. Unlike Eurogamer who have decided to give Ubisoft a chance to fix the numerous multiplayer issues before they give their review.
Just an update to let those of you know who might be interested that Sony has installed a good HD in the Pro it's an HGST which is a Hitachi based drive. These are very good and considered to be one of the most reliable drives, far better than the Seagate and Samsung previously used in the older PS4 models.
Wow nice line-up. Hoping for more surprises as the exclusives have been very good. So excited for Days Gone Anyone else notice that it is similar to the title of The Walking Dead's first episode 'Days Gone Bye'.
I think that the imminent release of the Pro has got to have had an affect on these figures over the past few months. It will be interesting seeing how the next few months go I expect things to be a lot different again.
@Jocinetu Sadly it is encrypted so you will have to re-install and download everything again.
Alternatively you can do what I have done, which is to back up everything you want to transfer via an external USB HD then remove the drive from the PS4. Transfer the HD to the PRO re-initialise the console with the latest firmware and then do a system restore via the PRO with your external HD. It can take a few hours dependant upon file size. For example my 1tb stated 5 hours to back up. I decided to delete the smaller games and just transfer around 300gb which took 1 hour each way. Hence why I am on here still waiting lol.
Just the 4k Pro frame rate to fix next then. I've put this one on hold until they sort all the issues out although knowing Bethesda they'll never truly fix it all.
Strange list mostly with mostly US prices. I'll summarise LG OLED has the best picture and colours however, it suffers from the highest input lag. Samsung has the lowest input lag so is great for gaming but its picture tends to look unnatural with often over saturated colours. Sony have the most natural image but generally suffers from a slower interface.
My personal choice for gaming is either Panasonic or Sony. However, purely for TV and movies I would opt for the the LG OLED if money is no issue.
@get2sammyb Yeah it is a shame that there seems to be differences already between the consoles noise levels. Here we go again I just hope that I get one of the quiet ones.
My current PS4 which was the newer version before the slim, is very quiet whereas, my friends launch console was extremely noisy especially playing the Phantom pain. He contacted Sony and they replaced it with a much quieter model.
@MadAussieBloke Some of us can only get to game late at night after work and when the kids are in bed. I have to use headphones so yes system noise levels are an issue.
Oh no here we go again it looks like another lottery on the consoles. Your version is the quietest PS4 that you've experienced whereas DF said that their version is more akin to the original PS4 for noise levels.
@get2sammyb Exactly I think that a lot of people fail to understand that there are a lot of people like myself who have been using 4k screens to game on for well over a year. So the Pro is a welcome upgrade I ordered mine after the announcement.
4k makes a substantial difference to image quality regardless of distance to screen. I also game on PC and running AC Unity or Syndicate at 4k rather than 1440p shows a huge difference in image quality and clarity.
@RedCoatKilla These types of comments are tiresome if your that much into 4k Blu Rays then you would be looking at a proper dedicated player which would offer a far better image than a games console could.
I very much doubt that it will come bundled with the PlayStation VR Aim Controller. The controller will be sold separately or bundled at a cost of the game and controller with maybe a £5.00 saving. Lets face it any chance to squeeze the consumer for more cash is the norm.
Skyrim but next weekend is the big one.
I am finally going to get to play The Last of Us and Uncharted 4 for the first time ever on the PS4 Pro. I have been saving them to experience at their best I have never played either title.
@bbq_boy Several other sites but i'm not going to dwell on that issue as it has been explained. I've switched over to the PS4 mainly due to the exclusives, Japanese games and ease of use.
The Xbox for me had nothing left other than Forza and Gears neither of which i'm that interested in anymore. Their UI is an absolute mess now as well. The other nail in the coffin was the amount of connection issues that i had with their controllers.

@adf86 Thanks for the info I wasn't aware of that issue.

@kyleforrester87 Yeah no HDR but that's the price I pay for early adoption. That's a nice TV your going to be in gaming heaven. Have you played on a 4k screen before? If not your in for a treat.
Re: Final Fantasy XV May Be the Best Example of HDR on PS4 Pro
Looks great I hope they sort that frame pacing out though.
Re: PS4 Sales Triple in UK Following Pro Launch
@kyleforrester87 Hopefully a lot of these games will be sorted by the time you get it.
Just out of interest when are you getting it and which model did you decide on?
I have a 4k Panasonic with a fantastic PQ but sadly no HDR so I will probably get a new HDR one next year.
Re: Nioh Sharpens Its Blade with PS4 Pre-Order Offers
@Tsurii I know what you mean it is becoming tiresome. As you said though it looks great and I'm looking forward to seeing the final product.
Re: Skyrim Special Edition Patch 1.2 Supposedly Fixes Crashes on PS4
@ElkinFencer10 That is what I'm also waiting for.
Re: Add Ratchet & Clank to the List of Rock Solid PS4 Pro Titles
@PlaytendoGuy Agreed, they should have opted for a 60hz option instead as nobody played this game and thought it needed a higher res.
Re: PS4 Sales Triple in UK Following Pro Launch
@wiiware The frame rate gets worse the further into the game you get. Why would I lie about it? Even DF mention it.
As for the Stat yeah probably not accurate but I know more games with issues than without So it's over 50% for sure.
Re: Add Ratchet & Clank to the List of Rock Solid PS4 Pro Titles
@SnowstormX You need to grow up.

Re: Guide: How to Transfer PlayStation 4 Games and Saves to a PS4 Pro
@Brasilkilla The one that comes with the Pro is more than enough unlike the old analogue cables HDMI is digital so quality of cable is unimportant.
Sony supply a fast high bandwidth HDMI 2.0 cable which is all you need. Hope that helps.
Re: Feature: 10 PS4 Pro Games That Shine on Sony's New Supercharged System

@get2sammyb Ok thanks for the update, I completely understand your position.
However, whatever happened to product confidence. Some of these Sony embargo rules seem a bit silly to me.
