I wouldn't be surprised if MS didn't release a similar controller some time in the future. The PS5 is quite revolutionary - taking a page out of Nintendo's book (they tend to focus more on how a game plays and how the hardware supports the gameplay rather than cutting edge graphics).
My personal opinion: The Xbox is simply a means to an end, and the days of exclusives are waning! Microsoft seems to believe their future lies in Game Pass, and thus, they are more in the business of publishing, so I can expect them to still consider the PS5 a viable platform for publishers they own to release games on. We'll see of course. I am excited to see where this goes.
In terms of graphical capabilities, high end PC hardware is far ahead of current gen consoles, and even the best and most powerful GPU and CPU configuration which costs an arm and a leg to buy won't run every game at 4k60 without some tweaks to graphical settings (AMD Threadrippert CPUS/Intel 10 gen i9, and the Nvidia Geforce Titan RTX), and if PCs can't do it yet, next gen consoles definitely won't be able to. So for now, I think achieving 1080/60+ should be more than sufficient, especially if you throw in ray tracing, HDR and other graphical wizardry. I do expect some games to achieve 4k/60, and maybe hit 120fps, but I expect those to be few and far between.
I've never really understood the reason for why console manufacturers charge for online access. I stand to be corrected, but as far as I know, they don't host the server. The publishers and developers of the respective games host the servers, so it technically doesn't cost the console manufacturers any money to allow online multiplayer. To me, having to pay a subscription to game online is the result of a bygone era when SP games were still big, and not every game had an online element. Nowadays, practically every game has some online element. I could be wrong in my reasoning of course.
I say many of those questions are hopeful thinking. What I do think is almost guaranteed is a look at the console, even if it might be veiled somewhat - in other words not an explicit view.
My understanding is that the challenge of backwards compatibility pre-PS4 was due to the very different hardware setups between the PS2 and PS3. While there is no doubt a difference in hardware between the PS4 and PS5, the fact that they are both based on AMD hardware should make this a relative non-issue. I'm just assuming of course as I am no expert.
Farming Simulator doesn't interest me in the least, and I have 10s of hours in City Skyline, with its DLC, on my PC, so I'm not about to play it on my PS4!

Re: EA Primed to Purchase Codemasters as Take-Two Withdraws Offer
Will be interesting to see what transpires. They could do with Codemasters' development experience in racing games.

Considering it's the festive season, it would have been nice if they gave the selection a bit more thought!

Re: Rumour: Sony Forced to Cut PS5 Production By 4 Million Units Due to Chip Troubles
I wonder if this will impact the Xbox Series X considering they are both using AMD chips, unless they are using different manufacturing plants

How are they making their money to support all this development and run the servers!

Re: PlayStation Store Double Discounts Sale Has Tempting PS4 Game Deals
I'm tempted to buy Fallout 76 (yes, with all its issues - I still love the feeling of existing in such a world) and Jedi: Fallen Order!

City Skyline is quite damn good, but the other title! Not really my cup of tea!
