But, but I keep reading on here from article authors and in the comments that Xbox news is relevant to Playstation now that the former is publishing games on the latter, but now it's "tiring"...
@Almost_Ghostly
"A year of Ultimate is now $276. A year of PS+ Premium is $160. That's a $116 difference. And if you count the twice yearly PS+ sales that bring Premium down to $107, it's an almost $170 difference."
Tbf, 12 months of GPU could be got from 3rd party resellers for Β£100ish pre-increase. Post increase Β£150 and will probably drop to about Β£120 ($150?) with the latest cut.
The cartoons (Beevis & Butthead etc.) were the ones that really broke the camels back. Not a fan of the new ones either though, but not a game breaker.
"The rumour continues that this would allow it to block its software from appearing on Xbox Helix, which will support third-party storefronts like Steam."
This sounds like nonsense as it wouldn't block anything - any proposed Playstation PC launcher would run on Windows.
The Xbox Helix is going to allow users to drop into Windows to play PC games (where they'd be able to use the launcher).
@AdamNovice "The thing is people are bashing because it could negatively affect how games are made going forward."
Some no doubt also trying to turn it into an opportunity to bash "the PC master race" (as PC owners are regularly referred to in the comment sections on this site).
@Pandalulz "I imagine this thing shipping with one of their weird neutered tablet editions of Windows or whatever."
Grapevine suggesting it will be similar (perhaps the exact same) to the modified version of Windows 11 currently being used (tested?) on the Xbox ROG Ally.

@LiamCroft
"It's not that serious of an article, you know. Chill."
The headline suggested otherwise.
Re: Copycat Gran Turismo Games Now Ripping Off PS5 Racer's Marketing
Worth keeping in mind that GT (Grand Tourer) is a term and not some kind of trademark.
Although it would be naive to not at least suspect the publisher isn't trying to ride on Gran Turismo's coat-tails.
Are the cars in this package Grand Tourer's?

Re: Physical Game Fans, Beware: Digital Downloads Hit an Astonishing 85% on PS5, PS4 Last Quarter
That's a helluva lot of business going through the walled garden PS shop.

Re: Sony's $7.85M Settlement Could Mean PSN Payouts for Millions

If not, the settlement lets them off lightly and allows them to continue to milk their customers.
Re: Assassin's Creed Fans Furious as Physical Copies of Black Flag's PS5 Remake Will Require Internet
Where are all the ppl complaining about this when Sony collector's editions release with no disc at all?
Ubisoft, Microsoft etc release "game-key discs" = pile on (including from article author).
Sony release ultra expensive collector's editions and do far worse to their own customers by including no disc at all = tumbleweed.
Re: PS5 Confirmed to Be Affected by Game Expiry Issue, Sony Still Silent on DRM Worries
Sony's silence so far - testing the water?
If they feel they can manage the backlash, DRM stays. If not, they can claim it was a glitch and remove it.
Re: PS5 Confirmed to Be Affected by Game Expiry Issue, Sony Still Silent on DRM Worries
@rjejr
"unless they've secretly been putting call in DRM on the discs, but that's probably not a thing."
Wouldn't rule Sony out from trying anything - remember the rootkit they used to put on music CD's.

Re: PS5's Dynamic Pricing Debacle Appears to Extend to the US Now

At least with Xbox (if by "dynamic pricing" you're referring to "deals for you"?), you can go elsewhere and buy digital 3rd party.
Which you can't do on Playstation because of the monopoly walled garden.

Re: Poll: Has PS5's Dynamic Pricing Debacle Changed Your Relationship with the PS Store at All?
Only 45% think "it's unfair and needs to stop"?
This is in a walled garden where users have no alternative to buy digital titles elsewhere.
Sony has it's cake as it is and then abuses it's faithful further.
Yet the majority don't think it's unfair and needs to stop.
Sony are extracting the michael because they can.

The PC game compatible Xbox isn't going to be on the market until late 2027 at the earliest.
To think any (nevermind "a lot") future owners are at the moment "port-begging" is fanciful.

McDonalds once tried to claim copyright infringement against an independent sandwich shop in Glasgow (I think) called McDonald's.
