Not that impressed with the deals, and nothing I'm interested in has gone down by much.
Would do PS Plus but mine doesn't lapse until next year. Oh well, it'll probably be discounted again when I need to renew as discounts seem to be at the same times every year.
I would really recommend you play 2, 4 and 6. At that point in the series there were 2 games per generation. Polyphony focused on a new game engine and physics for the first one and for the second took that and added loads more cars and races. It means the most obscure and interesting cars like the Espace F1 and mundane everyday cars like Vectras and Pandas are in the even numbered games.
You are right about the devs considerations, but a lot of what you said was about offline gaming. For online racing, the devs want more cars on track (At live events theres 20 car races).
People race very differently to AI (quit/disconnect - 16 player races almost never end with 16 players) and the fans want more cars on track (esp massive tracks like Circuit de la Sarthe (LeMans) and Nurburgring Nordschleife).
It's only 16 on PS5 due to the network limitations of PS4.
That said, theres also an example of where the consoles don't hold each other back. In PS5 GT7 there are advanced AI races that need more processing power. This mode simply isn't in PS4 GT7 so I would agree that the examples where PS4 holds PS5 back are usually more down to dev choices.
I had a good PS4 that didn't make much noise. Wished I got one sooner, so went early on PS5. It was largely pointless. At this point I realise I could probably have skipped the PS5 altogether and caught up on the few exclusives I missed with a PS6.
There were multiple revisions of the PS1 removing components and making it cheaper. It's always happened. What has changed is the price doesn't come down. That sucks.
All people want is money off games with a few bonus boosts for doing set things (trying a demo, purchasing specific games) and everyone* would be happy!
The Vision GT cars are often unused, unloved and unwanted by the majority of the player base.
They are a bit of PR and I'm sure a fun side project for those involved but there is a long list of real cars and tracks we want to see, but this doesn't seem to be a priority for Polyphony.
@Ultrasmiles Consoles have usually been below 50 Watts but rapidly increased beyond 150 Watts from PS3/360 onwards (Nintendo taking a lower power route) prompting a few articles and generating some attention. Offering a low power option could allay criticism, but yeah looking at the comments it's not exactly everyones most wanted feature...
@Max_the_German I've always been happy with the way the PS5 looks, it was an upgrade from the PS4 and when I get a new TV I get a further upgrade but like you say it's only a handful of games that even exceed 1080 in 60fps mode.
@rjejr Hey! Yeah, it might be nice if the option were there, but I don't know if there would be much power saving. It will be interesting to see if it is any use to PS5 users of it is mainly in place for potential handheld compatability.

Re: PS5 Exclusive Dino Shooter Code Violet Has Gone Gold, Delayed to January 2026
Please can we just have a new Dino Crisis, or a remake?

Re: Gran Turismo 7's New Bonus Credits Offer Feels Cruel for Current Players
I have no complaints. It's equivalent to a small discount on the game, which has been on sale for much less than it's current full price.

Re: If You've Never Played Fortnite, This Is the Season to Try on PS5, PS4
@carlos82
This was my thought - not sure if I like it, but if I do it's gone forever after this month?
What the reaction shows to me is huge appetite for a proper Simpsons game or even just remake Hit & Run.
Re: As Sony's PS Plus Premium Expands Slowly, Another Dev Announces PS1 Emulation Plans
@PuppetMaster One was the perfect rental game back in the day.
Re: Final Fantasy Remake Director Clarifies Part 3 Won't 'Cut Content'
I didn't misconstrue anything, thought he was very clear to begin with!
Re: Cult PS1 Fighting Trilogy Battle Arena Toshinden Coming to PS5
I have fond memories of Toshinden due to nostalgia rather than gameplay. It was impressive just to do a 3D fighting game at the time.
I would really love to see Bloody Roar return, I loved the gimmick. Also a nod to Tobal.

Re: Sounds Like Sony May Finally Be Starting to Wind Down PS4 Support
@SuntannedDuck2 Gran Turismo 7 was going to have 24 player online races when it was a PS5 exclusive, up from the 16 that PS4 can handle.

Re: PS5's New Power Saver Feature Confirms Its First Supported Games
I still have a 1080 TV and standard PS5, and it makes me wonder if it might simply output a lower resolution that I wouldn't notice.
