I totally disagree with the title of this section. It isn't a disappointment to me at all. In fact I'm enjoying it more than expected. It makes such a change to be able to roam around at your own leisure without being shot at from all angles. Its a very in depth rpg/survival game to me which leaves you to find out how it works, without being told everything in the first few minutes. As for the story, at the moment I don't care. I'm just enjoying being an adventurer and making my own story. I dare say at some stage I may drift to the story, but not yet. Yes, there is a lot of time spent in your inventory but that's no problem with me. A lot of people say its boring and repetitive but I find games like COD and Battlefield repetitive, shooting, dying, respawning and little else. There is also more to come from the developers in future, updates like base building etc. so the game is going to get even larger and better. I think more games like this will come in the future, and Hello Games should be given the credit they deserve for trying to break the mould. The game does have issues, every game does, but its not at all bad. It is just a question of taste. Marmite springs to mind.
Yep, I will get this if it runs ok. I played it on the 360. It was a great game. I enjoyed oblivion more though. Its a shame that they couldn't do a collection of morrowind, oblivion and skyrim, now that would be special.
For me its down to one thing....price. Until I know that I wont decide. I am interested though. So long as all the old PS4 games can be played on the newer cosole. Also I would want to compare it against the upgraded xbox version as I doubt if I could afford both.
Bethesda always seem to get away with these issues. Skyrim was a joke at first on the ps3. Funny enough they seem to akways have more issues on the ps than the xbone. Their developers can only seem to do their jobs properly on xbox stuff and not ps stuff. They always give xbox all the extras first. It seems like they seem to go out of there way to mess up on the ps. I wonder if they have shares in ms.
As I have a 4k telly, yes I'm interested, but the driving force to me is the price. The price of the VR alone will set you back £400 inc camera. It will also depend on how much trade in I could get for my existing ps4. I'm just a little disappointed that Sony didn't release a more powerful unit to start with.
It would depend on the money side of things forme. If Sony were to offer a decent trade in on the ps4 to enable me to purchase the upgraded model, I would look seriously at it. If I had to fork out a fortune for the upgraded model they can forget it. The price o the VR is nearly £400 so to fork out something like say, another £450 for the new console, that would be way out of my league.
I csnt understand how one previous poster thinks the xbox interface is better than the ps4's. I have both and find the ps4 one is far easier to navigate. The xbox interface is a total mess in my opinion. I am happy with the ps4's. All it needs is a customised background instead of those themes.
Most trailers you see are done on the pc where the graphics look brilliant (the Division for example). Then when it appears on the PlayStation its been downgraded graphically to enable it to run at a decent framerate. This on the other hand was designed only for the ps4 and should end up looking as good as the trailers. I loved the first three Uncharteds and cant wait for this one, but, I wonder how long it will be. I hope its longer than 8 hours.
So much for Halo being the xbone saviour. Where was it...number 8 in the charts. As for tomb raider, a game that looks great, what a disaster for ms. If the xbone was to start to compete with the playstation, november was their big chance. Dont forget they lanched their windows 10 aswell on the console. I can only see the ps4 getting even more dominant now that the xbone have fired all their guns as it were.
Mine is running great at the moment. Of all the Bethesda games ive played so far, this runs the best. Ive read on the web about some game breaking bugs, but so far so good for me. As for frame rate drops, I havnt noticed any yet, but I play so slowly I would probably not notice lol. Im enjoying this more than Fallout 3. I never thought I would say thay
I can honestly say, ive never been so hyped up for a game. I loved Fallout 3 and this is bigger. I hope it lives up to the hype. Also, I hope that it runs on the ps4 well, as previous Bethesda games on the PlayStation brand have been a mess at the start.
I have both the ps4 and xbone but will get tombraider on ps4 next year. I will be playing fallout till uncharted arrives. I hope the deal with ms doesnt kill the tombraider franchise altogether as I fear if the sales are to poor ( after the ps4 release) it could be difficult to jusify another one.
Really looking forward to this one. Apart from it looking gorgeous, it will be great reliving the original ratchet game again. I hope they have not changed the gameplay to much. I loved smashing all those crates up and the sound of the bolts rushing to you.
I will probably enrage many on this site to say that my favourite console was the xbox 360. The ps2 was great and I loved it, but there was something about the 360 that I really enjoyed. The interface, and, just about everything seemed ro click in place ( despite the rrod problems ). Thats what makes the xbone really disappointing. Ive owned most consoles since the sinclair spectrum and my top 2 are 1. 360 And 2. Ps2 And 3. Ps1
Ah, those were the days. Crash bandicoot was just pure fun. Crash (the wrath of cortex) was the first game I got on the ps2. Oh if only they would bring it back.
I have this on pre order for the xbone. I have both consoles for this situation. I, as others have slready said, hope this game flops terribly on the ps4 to teach all developers a lesson. I think sqeeenix thought the xbone would be the biggest seller when this agreement was originally made as it makes no sense otherwise. cant really blame ms though as sony do the same thing. Cross platform games should be released simultaneously across those platforms.
I love all the elder scrolls series games. I was very unsure about getting this one though as i am not into multiplayer stuff normally. Although i am still pretty early on in this game i must say my concerns were misplaced. Im enjoying every minute. As a previous poster said, you can join others in a battle without having to join any groups, clans etc. When you finished the battle you can just run off and do your own thing again (a bit like Destiny really). The artwork reminds me of Morrowind (but that may change as i move to other areas in the game later. The battle system is good. The only only difficulty i have at the moment is to know which skills to level up as there are so many of them lol. I glad i got it now.
Its got a lot to live up to after Witcher 3. As for the visuals, i hope they dont get downgraded from the early videos that will come out, like what happened to the console versions of the Witcher 3. Having said all that, i cant wait. Although Fallout 3 had it faults, it was one of my favourite games.
There will be more missions to gain experience points on when future expansions and dlc quests appear. Depending on how many we get will determine what levels become achievable. So I wouldnt bother killing millions of wolves.
Agreed. The best open world rpg game yet. Better than skyrim. Its more difficult and more of an in depth rpg. Even the voice acting is good for once. Im still fairly early on in the game so I haven't come across any glitchy quests yet, but enlarging the fonts will make it so much better for me.
Brilliant game so far. Beautiful to look at and good gameplay. CD project red are good for correcting issues so im sure the text size thing will be sorted quickly now they are aware of it. At the moment I have to move closer to the telly to read some of it.
Reminds me a bit of the original Jak and Daxter game, and to a lesser degree Ratchet and Clank. I think there is a place in the market for these 3D platformers. There doesnt seem to much for the younger players around at the moment. Knack was ok, but lacked something. It would make a change to play something that is light and airy, as apposed to the dark and gloomy games around at the moment (Bloodbourne for example).
Looking at the button prompts, i assume this is the xbox version. This is my most awaited ps4 game since i got the console. It looks like its going to be fantastic. I played Witcher 2 on the 360 and thought it was ok, but this looks like a huge step up. I hope it lives up to the hype though and doesnt dissapoint.
I feel cheated if the game is less than about 20 hours. £40 and more is a lot of money to spend on a game you can whizz through in no time. I dont care if the gameplay is good but its all over to qiuck. The genre of game i prefer is fortunately where you find the longer games. I like RPG's, so games like the Elder Scrolls series, Fallout 3, Dragon age and the Assassins Creed series suit me fine. Many of which have in excess of 100hours gameplay.
Incredible figures. I wonder what the xbone figures actualy are. If it is correct that the ps4 outsold the xbone on Black Friday and Cyber Monday as well as the whole of December, what a result. The xbone tried to nearly give theirs away. I thought Sony would be easily beaten, but shows what I know about marketing. I was actually beginning to fear for the ps4, as the xbone seemed to be on the right track. Now I fear for the xbone what with all the big hitting exclusive ps4 game coming this year.
Maybe Lizard work for Nintendo lol. Seriously though, what are lizards reasons for all this. If it is get at the large companies, that's one thing but surely they can see that it affects all the people they are supposedly standing up for. Upsetting peoples Christmases can only make them more unpopular with the masses. I just cant get my head around them.
Unfortunately, this news doesn't surprise me. The Playstation 4 has had a couple of bad months what with Driveclub and a few other PSN disasters. I think there is more to it than just the xbone price cuts. The xbox gold live service (although not perfect) has a more reliable image than PSN and the xbone has had a couple of exclusives, while sony's exclusives are all still to come. Also, a lot of ps4 owners are now buying the xbone as a 2nd console (if I could afford one I would be doing that aswell ). in my view Sony have been sitting on their laurels for to long while Microsoft have been doing update after update. I am a ps4 owner, but can see the xbone slowly closing the gap from now on in the usa anyway.
Just like busses. Nothing for ages then loads at once. Ive got GTA5 coming tomorrow ( I hope, Royal Mail pending). As for the others I will get Far Cry 4 then AC Unity then Dragon Age. Little Big Planet doesn't appeal to me.
@brendon987 It Should still work ok. I would assume that it may fix the odd glitch here and there and slightly improve optimisation, but providing there are no game killing glitches it should still run fine. At worst case I would think it could run like Assassins Creed Unity, but I don't think Rockstar are that bad.
My memory of launch was similar to SuperCat. Constantly being on the Amazon forums seeing trying to find out what the hell was going on. Consoles were being sent and lost and not arriving. It was total chaos. I was lucky, at first mine went missing and then mysteriously arrived the following day after launch. I got the mega bundle. Then of course there was the nerves of connecting it up and praying it would work ok, which thankfully it did. I got FIFA 14, Black Flag, Knack and Killzone with it. I enjoyed Black Flag the most, But to sum up, my memory can be summed up in one word, STRESS. Thanks Amazon.
