Re: Yes, All Those Awesome Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Accessories Are Getting Scalped

DarkTron

For a customer in Ireland, we were completely shafted with regards to the cover plates (what I wanted more than the controller). Can't order from PlayStation Direct, no partnership with any retailer (Smyths didn't have them, despite selling the controller and the console bundle) and Insomniac had no word on anything. Only got the controller on order, which is more of a consolation prize as I've already bought another DualSense in the sale.

>community becomes irrated and continues to demand
>SE: "we will provide updates when we are ready to do so (also why would we try to direct attention away from the newest FF game at this point)?"

SqEnix said it wasn't ready and they announced updates when they were ready, fanzines like this demanded more information, and you got all what was ready (aka the basics). Not SqEnix's fault it's fans are all whiny brats who can't wait until after 16 releases (in 2 weeks) to gear about the next game.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor?

DarkTron

@Uncharted2007 I actually have a weird version of events. My installation didn't come with a single update (as in, the Downloads tab didn't show a separate update for the updates, nor did it continue installing after putting the console in rest - which it usually does for games that aren't fully "on the discs", at least making that distinction clear).

Re: Round Up: Forspoken's Divided Reviews Make for Some Rough Reading

DarkTron

@Martijn87 from the sample reviews, I don't see how you're getting that impression. One review seems to be over-inflating its score with compared to others (seems to be saying the same as IGN - flashy combat and traversal, but held back by being generic - but awarding it an 8 over a 6) and the rest being average or close to it.

Re: The Witcher 3 on PS5 Gets a Physical Release Next Week

DarkTron

@Cyberpsycho they upped the price to €29.99 (on sale) for the Complete Edition in Europe after the PS5 update (very annoying because the upgrade was announced a day after the GOTY went off sale, which I had missed), and I've been seeing some retailers selling for €29.99-€34.99 instead. Not as bad a deal if you want, although the physical version is effectively DoA with the upcoming update with regards to being complete.

Re: The Callisto Protocol's DLC Death Animations Haven't Been Made Yet

DarkTron

@freddquadros the confusion surrounding this is justified, though. Usually with Season Passes, the falls into 2 categories: new content (additional campaigns, new modes) or new features to enhance what's already there (New Game+, new skins etc.). "Death animations" don't fit into either criteria, they scream "omitted for time" more than "omitted for bonus content". They're the type of feature that would typically be included as a free update afterwards (akin to Dead Cells updates, for example) as an actual paid feature.

You might claim that it's contradictory to the developer's claims that they weren't even started before going gold, but I believe that the comment is contradicted by the Trophy List, which listed them as a requirement for one trophy, and as such would indicate they were intended to be there for launch. "Not holding back anything for the Season Pass" is a confusing comment with that in mind.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Sonic Frontiers?

DarkTron

Article presumably written because of the Dunkey and Nintendo Life review outliers.

8 is a little high for me personally, but I'm getting a lot of enjoyment out of the game, which is really what I want in any purchased title, so it doesn't matter.

Personally, I use review scores solely if I'm on the fence on purchasing a title (like for Frontiers, I've been burned by the hedgehog the last few times) or to learn if there's some huge fundamental flaw in a a title that would warrant a last-minute cancellation.

Re: PSVR2 Launches 22nd February 2023, Costs $550

DarkTron

@TwoPieceTanookiSuit completely fair reason to be negative about it, it's a massive cost with little benefit, more likely a forced upgrade for any who wish to enjoy the future VR titles. Sony reintroduced BC with the main console, so deliberately building it out of the peripheral also is a negative.
