Rather disappointing.
Lack of (stable) 60fps, average exploration and good old shimmering between walls make this into sth not quite the premiere next gen experience I thought it would be.
The game also has a ton of minor annoyances, not being able to run in the settlements is mind boggling for instance.
This one area in Dhalmekia looks especially bland, straight up gave me ps2 ptsd despite not playing on the thing haha
Currently about 72% in according to the tracker after 40sth hours.
It's def got good things going for it, especially the blood splatters in cutscenes after fights is something I can appreciate.
And it is definitely very flashy, eikon fights can be very sick.
But for all the gold coming out of japan this is one of the few franchises I can not be bothered with it seems.
Will forever wonder why people like these games so much.
Anyway this about sums it up:

@Frmknst word, if anything vastly inferior as well.
Extremely short runtime and easy bosses, main game at least.
Lovecraft influence wasn't nearly as vast as people make it out to be either, big missed opportunity of a game.
Glad they haven't remastered/remade it, the lack of sales reports on it speaks for it self.

@ztpayne7 true that, I'm not gonna play solo so the host only save progress doesn't bother me.
I want to ask though, is your co-op gameplay stable? Me and my friend (europe & canada) are both on fibre but I get so much clipping and slight delays it's weird.

Coulda given sunbreak as well basterds, been more than three years since launch already 😂

@GeeEssEff don't even know how it's factored tbh, I played three matches, got 30 kills in the last one but like 15 altogether in the other two. Don't even have that 10k damage trophy but I got one level up as well.
Wonder how long it's gonna take the average person to get it to max (50 I believe)

Was watching this earlier today and honestly not a bad move, gameplay in the first sucked and was a big detractor from what was a really strong game all around imo.
I don't really like the look of it but I'm assuming they'll still fine tune it + anything is better than the first game's 'combat'

Still the best capcom franchise, and insane numbers for mhw.
Hope Wilds is a knockout

Regarding the line-up, if it means I can recruit more randos for clubs that's a w. Wanted to play ghostrunner 2 some day as well so it's great.

The hellfire gala suits are some of the best I've seen in comics. This one ain't bad but I'd like to see a few more. Maybe for some villains as well

Actually quite liked infinite and played its mp for a while but it's nowhere near my fav ever fps games.
Sadly the old ones are outdated.
On another note, granted Doom and Wolfenstein are already on ps as is but do that many people not want a new game in the series on ps yo 😭

@MikeOrator oh yh I agree for the most part. I have had some great experiences playing turn based games. Just sick of it at the same time.
I played DQ11, thought it was great albeit a tad ugly because iirc it was a switch port. Liked it a lot and would've finished it, at a certain point however I was under levelled for some reason and fights took me ages. Just got to being a menial task at that point and lost all enjoyment whatsoever.
Same happened with Yakuza LAD, enjoyed it quite a lot until the Saejima x Majima boss fight. Still love the game but what a detractor that was.
Octopath Traveller is also a similar situation. Can't say I really remember the specifics of it though 🤔
Which is a real shame because I thought the game looked lovely.
Sea of Stars is another game I quit early last year. Liked it, was written wonderfully but it became tedious very fast. The whole interactive combat thing where you could time your attacks with the characters and even hit multiple times as well on some attacks was a wonderful addition I would like to see in more turn based games.
And yh Larian is great at it, I still haven't finished Div Original Sin 2 (16 ~ hours) but I can attest to the fact that it is simply one of the very best rpgs I have ever played.
Sadly, I can't get that enjoyment from many other rpgs, and again I haven't managed to ever pick it up again though I believe that might partly be because I picked it up on pc.
I will say though I'd like to see turn based combat branch out to other genres.
Lemnis Gate released way back in 2021, caught my eye because I don't I had seen a turn based fps in that style ever before.
It died rather quickly and I never even played it but I wouldn't mind more of that.
Anyway I remember you as a big yakuza fan, happy gaming man. I hope inf wealth hits it out of the park.

@Bez87 I agree, I'm glad they changed things up succesfully and it was one hell of a node to classic rpgs as a whole but at the same time it was so frickin tedious at times. Especially some of the boss fights.
Turn based should just stay as a thing of the past. Relic of an old age.

@vyseofhr was thinking the same after reading through it.
Some titles stand out but after all the hype on this site about 2024 being a stunning year I don't see it happening lol
