Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About The Last of Us Part 2, 5 Years Later?

Channel42

I played the first one as the remastered version, thought it was fine but the performances really sold it. I enjoyed the gameplay of part 2 more and it looks incredible - the story was just fine for what it was doing, but not executed particularly well. I felt a bit of a disconnect with the established universe in that it fell into post apocalyptic tropes more. To me it seemed like Abby's character arc is really dependant on the final act and that felt added on as a heavy handed way to bring sympathy to her. Played it once and never had the urge to go back.

@Marquez there are two missible records, one from an optional camp scene that only appears at a certain point and the one at the start. Apparently there are 34 records in the game (the first missible one is duplicated at the end) and you only need to obtain 33 - I missed both... another reason to replay in the future!

@MFTWrecks I haven't replayed it since my first time on PS2 but I dove in to the PS4 version when the sequel was announced and I love it all over again. It holds up a treat and looks as amazing and charming as it did back then and I'm surprised by how well it plays still and how creative it still feels (the only adjustment I made was to turn down the "voices"). Gem of a game!

I'm still on Tomb Raider Remastered. Working through the NG+ trophies, it has been surprisingly doable for 1 and 2. I thought 3 was going to be impossible but feeling more confident now. Looking forward to the speed runs, after NG+, I didn't know most of the shortcuts and glitches when I played them originally

Still playing the Tomb Raider remasters. On 3 now (which was always my favourite) and the remasters look great. I've really enjoyed them all so far. I have mainly stuck to tank controls but I tried the updated modern controls and they seem pretty decent now. Have to say l'm not sure how I 100% them all back in the day without photo mode for scouting but it really helps now!

Went back to platinum this after RE4R just before Christmas. Some good general tips here. Like above says shoot the legs/knees and they will break making moving much easier. Also, if you stop and let your receptacle focus the shot is more powerful. Recommend getting the infinite knife and handgun for platinum runs too

Love Tomb Raider and semi recently replayed the original 5 on Steam so looking forward to that but will probably play on Switch. Really enjoy fighting games (specifically Tekken) but hate the constant DLC so will probably skip Tekken despite 7 being the first game I bought on PS4

I hope this is great. Really enjoyed Days Gone (platinumed it twice), seems some games get a pass on day one bugs and are allowed to "redeem" themselves and others aren't. Also Deacon wasn't my favourite character, wasn't my most hated either but surely the variety is good so people connect with different protangonists

I really enjoyed HFW, personally thought it was a better sequel than GOW:R. I felt the sidequests added a lot to the world building more so than the first. The story is pretty tame for sci-fi but interested to see where it goes.

On my second play through of Horzion FW, have to say it is much more enjoyable second time around. New Game+ seems to give you the tools to balance the machines much more and have spent more time with each weapon/ammo type. I actually enjoy the story. I wasn't expecting how it went first time around but it sits much better for me second time.
Also playing Front Mission 1st on Switch. I had forgotten gow brutal it is until you unlock some skills.
