I'm back on Tomb Raider IV-VI remastered, going for the platinum on 4 at the moment. The added touches to the environments really help bring the game to life.
I played the first one as the remastered version, thought it was fine but the performances really sold it. I enjoyed the gameplay of part 2 more and it looks incredible - the story was just fine for what it was doing, but not executed particularly well. I felt a bit of a disconnect with the established universe in that it fell into post apocalyptic tropes more. To me it seemed like Abby's character arc is really dependant on the final act and that felt added on as a heavy handed way to bring sympathy to her. Played it once and never had the urge to go back.
@Marquez there are two missible records, one from an optional camp scene that only appears at a certain point and the one at the start. Apparently there are 34 records in the game (the first missible one is duplicated at the end) and you only need to obtain 33 - I missed both... another reason to replay in the future!
Just finished Clair Obscur last night, bit disappointed to be locked out of the platinum because of a missable. Overall enjoyed the game, not quite as much as some, but it felt fresh and the gameplay was fun. On to 13 Sentinals now!
@MFTWrecks I haven't replayed it since my first time on PS2 but I dove in to the PS4 version when the sequel was announced and I love it all over again. It holds up a treat and looks as amazing and charming as it did back then and I'm surprised by how well it plays still and how creative it still feels (the only adjustment I made was to turn down the "voices"). Gem of a game!
So excited for this even just for 4. I've never played AOD but interested to play it despite its reputation - intrigued to see how much work has gone into it.
I have finally platinumed all of the Tomb Raider Remasters thoroughly enjoyed it (minus TR2 NG+). A bit lost for a new game now, thinking about The Pathless
Still on Tomb Raider Remastered. Platinumed TR1 and completed NG+ on all three. Speedrun done on TR2, need to do TR3 then its just a sweep of random trophies. It's been fun plying them in a different way to how I would usually.
I'm still on Tomb Raider Remastered. Working through the NG+ trophies, it has been surprisingly doable for 1 and 2. I thought 3 was going to be impossible but feeling more confident now. Looking forward to the speed runs, after NG+, I didn't know most of the shortcuts and glitches when I played them originally
Love anything Resident Evil. Can't wait! Would still love a CV remake, has a lot of potential but personally hasn't held up as well as the other originals for me.
I have just (this morning) finished Tomb Raider III through the remasters. Fancied the platinum across the three games but not sure I can face some of the levels on New Game+, Lost City of Tinnos seems like it would be a nightmare. At a bit of a loss for my next game now...
Still playing the Tomb Raider remasters. On 3 now (which was always my favourite) and the remasters look great. I've really enjoyed them all so far. I have mainly stuck to tank controls but I tried the updated modern controls and they seem pretty decent now. Have to say l'm not sure how I 100% them all back in the day without photo mode for scouting but it really helps now!
Finished Tomb Raider remastered last night, started the second this morning. The remasters are great but tough. I'd wanted to platinum the three games but some of the trophies look a faff to get which is a shame
Tomb Raider Remaster Trilogy - it looks great and some of the original music is amazing, almost forgot though how easy it is to kill Lara if you aren't paying attention 😅 Also at the end of Tales of Arise - I have really enjoyed it and the dynamic of the group.
I started Tales of Arise, I'm enjoying it so far - only in the second realm. Some of the voice acting is a bit cheesy but there are a lot of ways to see the characters interact that aren't forced which is a nice touch.
Plugging away at Octopath Traveller 2, have done 3 of the stories now and on the last one for Hikari. My partner has also bought Tales of Arise as a gift so I'm looking forward to that, will be my first Tales game!
Went back to platinum this after RE4R just before Christmas. Some good general tips here. Like above says shoot the legs/knees and they will break making moving much easier. Also, if you stop and let your receptacle focus the shot is more powerful. Recommend getting the infinite knife and handgun for platinum runs too
Tomb Raider 1 and 2 were my first PS1 games and I love 3 so I'm really excited for these. Never really clicked with the new ones despite playing them all, Lara was so grating. Will still wait for reviews but if they come back good I'll be buying
I know it won't change but locking characters behind money significantly reduced the amount of time I spent on Tekken 7 and Soul Calibur 6 compared to earlier entries. It ends up costing a fortune unless you wait until the next one is announced. Pretty much ruined my enjoyment of fighting games.
@Nintendo4Sonic I actually played them with the keyboard which took a bit of getting used to but wasn't awful with the grid based system. They all seemed to work fine except I couldn't get 4 to boot up through Steam so I replayed it on my Dreamcast at the time
Love Tomb Raider and semi recently replayed the original 5 on Steam so looking forward to that but will probably play on Switch. Really enjoy fighting games (specifically Tekken) but hate the constant DLC so will probably skip Tekken despite 7 being the first game I bought on PS4
I hope this is great. Really enjoyed Days Gone (platinumed it twice), seems some games get a pass on day one bugs and are allowed to "redeem" themselves and others aren't. Also Deacon wasn't my favourite character, wasn't my most hated either but surely the variety is good so people connect with different protangonists
Don't really have any interest in this for some reason. Played the first twice and enjoyed it but thought Miles Morales was a let down. Will be interested in seeing the reviews
I was sick the day it came out so I smashed through it in a day. Really enjoyed it and have played more mercenaries and restarted the main campaign as a result. I get the vibe the VA is going for but not sure it works and I'm not really sure I agree a red woolen mini dress with thigh high boots is more practical but I guess it's a small step 🤣
I enjoyed this game on Switch. It is pretty hard until you start unlocking skills so can be a bit rough to begin with but I thought it was worth pushing through. Really hoping they follow through with the second and especially third remakes!
I like FF9 a lot but skipping 8 for a remake would be a crime in my book. Imagine the dance scene in PS5 quality (Squall might actually get his chance to be the best looking guy there), the parade and the space section (Eyes On Me 😍). Emo Squall will never not be my fave plus Triple Triad is amazing.
I really enjoyed HFW, personally thought it was a better sequel than GOW:R. I felt the sidequests added a lot to the world building more so than the first. The story is pretty tame for sci-fi but interested to see where it goes.
On my second play through of Horzion FW, have to say it is much more enjoyable second time around. New Game+ seems to give you the tools to balance the machines much more and have spent more time with each weapon/ammo type. I actually enjoy the story. I wasn't expecting how it went first time around but it sits much better for me second time. Also playing Front Mission 1st on Switch. I had forgotten gow brutal it is until you unlock some skills.
@shadow2k couldn't agree more about VIII. It's a special game and it would seem a little strange to skip it as a remake, although I much prefer the OG Squall design.
I enjoyed IX though. I always felt it was more of a casual play than VII or VIII and I liked the style change.
I bought Dying Light Platinum recently it was fun at first but found it got repetitive very quickly and I gave up. I had my eye on 2 but think I will pass now
Working through Skyward Sword after a long break for PlayStation games. Just reached the desert which isn't my favourite part but its an enjoyable game overall
I watched my partner play Fallen Order very recently and I havent seen a game that glitchy in a while, and this long after it came out. It seems like it has a good foundation to build upon though for a sequel and I enjoyed watching it enough even though I don't love Star Wars
I have got a little tired of Dying Light, having just reached Old Town I find myself wanting to play it less and less which is a shame. Not sure what else to play but would like a another driving game but already have most of the ones available...
@Cyrus29 it is really starting to grow on me. Just got my first night time air drop - think I will be putting a lot of hours into this. A lot more interested in the sequel now

I'm finishing up the Tomb Raider TLR platinum, keeping track of all the cumulative goals has been frustrating but now have a spreadsheet 😂
Tony Hawk's 3+4 was also just delivered. I never had the chance to play either originally so I have no opinion on the changes going into it.

@MrGilly69 I'm pretty sure that happened to me for the first one because of the Atlantis item behind a wall bug from the original 😭

I'm at the end boss now and have really enjoyed it. Tempted by the platinum but a couple seem like time sinks

Re: Poll: Which Xbox Franchises Would You Buy on PS5?
I love Age of Mythologies so went Age of Empires. Do they still make Project Gotham? Metropolis Street Racer was a favourite on Dreamcast

Octopath Traveller II, I've finished 3 of the stories so far. Generally don't love the pixel style but it is growing on me.
Considering picking up Dead Space remake but I think it will go very cheap eventually so trying to hold out.
