I remember your article where you said AAA gaming is getting to be unstainable and I kind of agree. Only the big hitters are safe it feels like. One bad game sales wise and a studio is in trouble.
@Art_Vandelay except the industrial revolution isn't a sentient thing that can add to itself and delete a companies data like AI can and has done. There have even been tests where they put AI together in a digital environment and it kills other AI.
@Oram77 That sucks. So many companies losing money and having to fire developers lately it feels like. At least Sony isn't closing them down though so I guess there is a silver lining.
@wildcat_kickz I don't know I guess either way we'll see eventually. I don't really have any faith in any developer, but maybe they will surprise me.
I'm still just so mad about the Oblivion remaster laziness. I don't want to see that in a game again. I'm talking about outside a house it has no windows but go in the house, and it has two big fronts windows sort of stuff btw.
@wildcat_kickz Sure it's bad but nothing compared to AI centres. And I was mostly pointing out the naivety of people saying 'as long as it's only for this'.
The suits who run these companies are greedy money hungry capitalists. It won't stop with little things, and it amazes me people think it will.
Surely that number for Marathon is way off? A huge first party AAA game, and it sells that badly? I don't really believe it tbh. I knew it did bad when they didn't gloat about numbers on Twitter, but I didn't think that bad.
To the people who say AI is fine will you still say that when devs are shown the door for AI because trust me once AI is good enough to replace the whole dev team it will. These gaming companies are capitalist through and through and would throw the whole developer team in the rubbish tomorrow if AI was good enough.
And that's not even mentioning the real world problems like the amount of electricity and water data centres require. Heck I read a story the other day about how AI is growing and adding to itself at an alarming speed and eventually won't need human oversight.
Imagine how cooked Ubisoft would be without Assassins Creed. Every other game they release sells poorly. Heck Watch Dogs is dead now and others will follow.
When I read the headline I thought you meant the next Mass Effect was called Exodus and was coming next year. Then I was wondering how I missed that lol. Now I know I will definitely keep an eye open for this game.
I will say I have seen people say Microsoft want to destroy the competition when they bought Activision but of course they did. They are a western capitalist company just like Sony who would also love to eliminate any competitor. Microslop just got caught saying it out loud.
The suits can't wait until they can replace every developer and voice actor with AI. I read a story yesterday about how AI is growing quickly and soon enough won't need human oversight. Yep AI won't be controllable and games will be the least of our worries.
I think this will easily beat the sales figures of any Sony game of the past five years at least. It's linear, and I'd have it done in two nights so I'll wait until it's cheap lol.
One console is always holding another back. Imagine if developers only had to make games for the pro and not the base model. Although I have the base model, so I'm glad they still make them for that lol.
And I won't shed a tear for any of these console manufacturers. They nickel and dime so much as it is. Next generation will be interesting that's for sure. If they don't sell as many consoles I expect more studios to shut.
Surprised they are doing this since they make money when these are sold. Mustn't be enough to justify ignoring the slop any longer. There is simply too much on these digital store fronts.
AI will make devs even lazier than they are now. Take oblivion remaster for example. Outside a house there are no windows but go into the house and it has two big windows on either side of the door. Simply lazy developers.
Well I only played TF2 for the awesome campaign so unfortunately this won't fill in that hole for me. Probably the best FPS campaign I have ever played BTW.
Didn't need some report to tell us all this. Increase prices and sure you might make more money per units sold or you could end up selling less. Sony charge more for less these days.

Re: Turn-Based RPG Final Fantasy Resonance Is Not a Port or Remake of Shuttered Gacha Game
@get2sammyb That's the one yeah. It didn't look that great I know but still I would have liked to see it on a console I actually like.
Re: Turn-Based RPG Final Fantasy Resonance Is Not a Port or Remake of Shuttered Gacha Game
I wish Square would have put that FF cart racing game on PlayStation. The Switch got it and I am still jealous.
Re: 15 PS5 Games from Last Week's Livestreams We're Dying to Play
I only want Resident Evil & Fable. Especially Resident Evil.
Re: Out in Late October, Phantom Blade Zero Dev Doesn't Care How Close It Is to GTA 6
I like the attitude from these developers. Takes some guts to release your game at that time.

Re: 'AI Can Help Our Team Get to the Right Answers Faster': Tomb Raider PS5's Controversy Explained
@wildcat_kickz I don't know I might download the original later on and check if it's in that version too.

Re: Fascinating PS5 Sales Estimates Peg Ghost of Yotei as a Triumph
I just read the tweet and apparently the person has news about Bungie next week. I have a bad feeling about that.

I don't like how the PR blocked any follow-up questions though. What are they hiding?
Re: 'AI Can Help Our Team Get to the Right Answers Faster': Tomb Raider PS5's Controversy Explained
Let's hope they aren't as lazy as the Oblivion remaster devs.
Re: Add It to the Pile: Crunchy Action RPG Crimson Moon Confirms September Release on PS5
And when some of these games inevitably fail to sell developers will be wondering why.

Re: Ubisoft Shutting Multiple Studios, as the News Just Keeps Getting Worse
Wait until next gen launches at over 1000 dollars for each console. Then when the casuals don't buy them you will see even more studio closures.
Re: 8 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Announced for June 2026
When you said big ones I thought you meant in terms of premium. I just want more classic retro games.
Re: Destiny 3 Isn't in Development, But It May Have Been the Most Talked About Game of the Last Week
Bungie are lucky Sony are really nice. A more ruthless owner might have closed them by now.
Re: Random: There's a New Killzone Game, and It's Only on Nintendo Switch
I wish we could at least have a port of the trilogy for modern consoles.
Re: Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 Is Now Hellblade 2: Senua's Saga
Now if only Capcom would rename the Resident Evil games so that some aren't in all capital and others aren't. Looking at you RESIDENT EVIL 5.
Re: Mass Effect Fans, Feast Your Eyes on a Full 20 Minutes of Exodus Gameplay
When I read the headline I thought you meant the next Mass Effect was called Exodus and was coming next year. Then I was wondering how I missed that lol. Now I know I will definitely keep an eye open for this game.
Re: PS5 Store's Shovelware Purge Is Getting More Interesting by the Week
Now focus on those lazy and ugly 'simulator' clones please Sony.
Re: 'There's a Finished Version of Gears of War PS5 Sitting on a Drive': New Game E-Day Was Almost Done
I wish I had that drive. I'd be the only person with Gears of War E day trophies hehe.

I will say I have seen people say Microsoft want to destroy the competition when they bought Activision but of course they did. They are a western capitalist company just like Sony who would also love to eliminate any competitor. Microslop just got caught saying it out loud.
Re: Rumour: Gears of War: E-Day Was Coming to PS5, Xbox Cancelled Port Very Recently
So they do have a little spine. I really want to see Sony and Microsoft get ruthless against each other. Really try and destroy the enemy.

Re: Reaction: Some PS5 Fans Think SGF Showed Sony Losing Its Grip on Third-Parties
If it wasn't for Sony most of these series would be dead, so a little gratitude should be shown to them by these companies.
Re: Experience Agent 47's Initial Outings All Over Again with New PS5 Remasters
They could have also ported the enhanced version of blood money they released on switch a while ago.
Re: Resident Evil Veronica Confirmed for PS5, Out in 2027
The only thing from the show I cared about and boy did it deliver. I'm a huge RE fan and can't wait for this.

Re: PS5's Fairgames Dodged State of Play, But Could It Be Rebranded at Summer Game Fest?
I'm so curious to see how well this game sells when it comes out. It will either be a big hit or die spectacularly.

Modern gaming story right here lol.

Re: Another Marathon Mess as Bungie Changes Misleading PS5 Store Description
It's one thing after another with these guys. This was most likely Sony's fault but still to imagine this studio cost them 3.6 billion dollars.

Re: There's No Collector's Edition for Marvel's Wolverine PS5, and Fans Aren't Happy
I'm a bit surprised but maybe Sony want to phase out of making deluxe physical editions?
Re: Reaction: Leaks Robbed State of Play of Its Biggest Surprise, But Show Still Spotlighted Many PS5 Games I'll Buy
Nothing for me really. I want rpgs like Mass Effect, Dragon age and The Elder Scrolls. Well those and the next Resident Evil game whatever it is.
Re: PS5 Early Access Pre-Orders Truly Are Getting Out of Hand
As if this game would help sell any consoles lol. If Sony did pay for it then just like Bungie it's a waste of money.
Re: 'That Looks Like Sh*t': God of War Creator Predictably Tears New PS5 Game to Shreds
I mean it obviously won't sell as well as the 2018 game but it will most likely turn a profit for Sony.

Surprised they are doing this since they make money when these are sold. Mustn't be enough to justify ignoring the slop any longer. There is simply too much on these digital store fronts.

Re: You Can Turn Off Wolverine PS5's Blood and Gore If You Want To
And here I am wishing games were even more violent and for main characters to be even more brutal to the enemies.
Re: Sound the Alarm: Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Partially Developed Using AI
I think the PSN store should also have that bit about 'made using AI'.
Re: Waiting for Titanfall 3? The Dev Behind Splitgate May Have Something for You
