There's no questioning the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series' huge impact on PlayStation. The franchise has not only been an enormous seller for Activision, it brought skateboarding into popular culture and made The Birdman a household name. So, what's the story on how it all came to be? A new documentary, titled Pretending I'm a Superman: The Tony Hawk Video Game Story, charts how the original game got made.

The film includes "never-before-seen footage and interviews with legendary skater Tony Hawk, as well as industry stars Steve Caballero, Rodney Mullen, Chad Muska, and Eric Koston". For fans of both skateboarding and video games, this will likely be worth a watch. With Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 hitting PS4 in a few weeks, now seems like a great time to pop this on and get educated. It releases today on various digital storefronts, including iTunes/Apple TV, Google Play Store, and Amazon Prime.
