@Martsmall a lot of people seem to forget that PS2 had PS1 bc and even the early fat PS3 had both PS1 and PS2 bc but eventually ended up removing PS2 bc from newer PS3 versions for whatever reason leaving only PS1 on PS3. It's when the PS4 released is where Sony had real issues with bc because of how difficult and complicated they made the PS3 sort of shooting themselves in foot. Xbox backwards compatibilty costs huge amounts of money, meaning it would be far easier for Microsoft to achieve what they've done on their end than it would if Sony done the same on their end with huge differences in bank accounts, but when gaming on the Xbox you don't think of how much it costs to develop Xbox bc and why would you
@Cashews always prefered something like Resistance or Space Marine where you can just let loose and fill so many weird creatures full of so many bullets with so many fascinating and different set pieces that makes me wonder as I'm playing. Modern warfare is of course modern and I'm just never fascinated by it at all in a video game. I enjoyed Battlefield 1 (2016) way more than any Modern Warfare because it felt like a super fun fascinating history lesson in a weird sort of way. CoDWW2 (2017) definitely interests me but seems to have reviewed not so well, which has sort of put me off it. Reminds me I need to get back on Boltgun soon, even though its trophies are crap
Given it another thought. It's a win for physical on PS4 and Switch if that's your thing and a win for those that enjoy trophies on PlayStation and might be a less frustraiting platinum overall too with no mp trophies required and thats about it. But yh I ain't spending £40 on release for a lazy cashgrab port, still be waiting for huge sales in late 2024
Hypothetically even if you payed me there's still a good chance I'd say no, depending on how much was being offered of course. I remember I tried a CoD for the very first time via PS Plus a few years ago and all I can remember thinking when playing was meh what's all this fuzz about. Its all so very average if you ask me
Rockstars logic the Nintendo Switch has a 130 mil and the PS4 has 118 mil so let's target those instead and completely ignore latest gen. Lazy money ports
Damn that sucks. No proper PS5, no 60fps?, no remaster and no mp wow. Possibly be £40 or £45 in uk but still no thanks im good. No doubt in 18 months or 2 years it'll be less than £15 in CeX, PS store sale, Amazon deals or even PS Plus Essential/Extra. I've no need to jump all over this and certainly not on release date, no matter how much I enjoyed it originally
@AndyKazama not really gonna play the game ha. I was just joking but thanks either way. Checked out some gameplay earlier. It does seem more like an actual video game sort of a puzzler type rather than tickling mayo jars or touching burritos on a kitchen table
@Cashews meant it as irony. Always thought of ironic and irony were same, get them mixed up. Still made me giggle a little when thought about FF16 not being capable on Switch.
Or maybe Square Enix only want their latest and greatest game to be running on the latest piece of console tech which is obvioisly something Nintendo don't simply offer at the moment and haven't done for quite a while
@Cashews you do realise that one country (Japan) is not the whole picture of success for any game sold or any console sold, its a slice of the bigger picture. Yh sure the Switch is 2nd to none in overall sales worldwide when its been availible on the market far longer than PS5 or Series and even the Switch today in 2023 is still doing incredible numbers. Its worth pointing out PS5 is dominating in America and the whole of Europe with Japan being the only one where the Switch has outsold the PS5 currently or did this escape your narrative somehow or simply didn't know?
@Nem yh there's quite a lot that didn't care for RE7 in first person but for the many that didn't mind the new first person, they was just happy for an RE game returning to its roots again. It was actually scary again but for some it was just to much after being so used to the watered down very mild horror in 4, 5 and 6. Some gamers first RE experience was 4 onwards so you'll sometimes get a few thinking RE isn't scary at all. 7 was great for those who liked horror and was good for PSVR1
Imagine buying a video game called Resident Evil 7 and then saying its to scary to play. I don't think I'll ever understand the logic of some people on this earth
The original RE4 over the shoulder was very rarely ever scary survival horror giving you so much ammo drops for your already full to the brim briefcase and health everywhere for the wave after wave of non scary enemies to deal with, just a very mild tension throughout. Almost repeat every single word for RE5, 6 and 8 and in some cases far worse than the 4th original. Before RE2 remake released I was very sceptical about the over the shoulder it was going with, because before RE2 remake released, all the over the shoulder was only ever used for was in the way more action non scary RE games. Now that I know over the shoulder can actually be scary because of the RE2 remake, it gave me so much hope going forward as a long time RE fan. RE4 remake is a massive improvement over the original
@deathaxe being an all console gamer I'm not really so much aware of what's popular or not on PC. Excuse my not knowing ignorance. Even with the BG3 and Starfield release dates and the Xbox feature parity policy issues, I still think it's overall a little odd BG3 is getting way more popularity on consoles all of a sudden. When I start to think of all the Diablo fans on console wanting BG3 as well it all starts making much more sense
@Hyena_socks @Kevw2006 I know Series S is having some policy issues not having feature parity with Series X. It'll be interesting to see how well it charts given the more popularity it seems to be getting and how well it reviews
Was Baldurs Gate ever this popular before this Baldurs Gate 3. Not dunking on the game at all. I only ever thought of BG as some type of almost niche PC game
So the two most scariest survival horror RE games are at 1 and 2. Makes sense to me but a little surprising at the same time considering how so many say they prefer the action no scares. There's genuine hope now then with those two at the top that RE9 will actually be survival horror again rather than 4, 5, 6 and 8 nonstop action with zero survival horror. Yh I hate no survival horror in RE games, it's the equivalent of a new MGS game or Splinter Cell game releasing with zero stealth
@KundaliniRising333 @ItsBritneyB_tch I made my main character a gorgeous naked blonde with bunny slippers on and ankle socks running around nude with rocket launchers. Absolutely hilarious when you see your naked character design in the story cutscenes. Even made her cars pink haha with pink underglow for giggles. It's ended up feeling like a harley Quinn video game by mistake
When you read online about Xbox diehards saying all PS 1st party games are just movies with hardly any gameplay or that Spidey2 is just a bloated dlc or the PS5 itself and the DualSense are crap and not doing so well. It's just a coping mechanism that's all it is, the reality is opposite of course
Me and a family member swapped a physical game to each other and this Saints Row is the one I've borrowed. Honestly was not expecting to enjoy this given all the criticisms online and all the bad reviews. Having now nearly completed it and going for the plat I have to say its genuinely a fun time, seriously no joke. Bugs are being fixed all the time to improve it. The person I swapped games with platted this SR on release so it was hardly broken. I've enjoyed my time with it enough to want to put the dlc expansion on my PS5 wishlist for a later date when it maybe comes to Plus at some point?
There's a few in there I wouldn't mind grabbing like Robocop and Crew Motorfest. Be working on my never ending backlog instead before Spidey2 and the MGS collection completely takes over my PS5
@Ralizah there's now been trophies available on PS consoles longer than when they wasn't a thing and now it just feels genuinly strange to me these days when I'm not thinking or working towards the next trophy. First of all of course the game comes first as to whether or not its for me, then checking the trophies comes afterwards. Trophies are just an added incentive, challenge or added option to the whole gaming experience and sometimes an added sense of accomplishment when you've 100% all the ideas that the devs tried to come up with on their game. Also if really enjoying a particular game it makes me want to 100% the trophies even more and potentially giving me way more gaming time in the game I'm really enjoying
@rockodoodle @Ralizah like so many I adore Nintendo for doing its own thing but imagine Nintendo 1st party games with nearly all the 3rd party games included as well on a genuine current console. Yes I know it doesn't look good considering their last attempts at the more up to date traditional home consoles but that's what I want, obviously Nintendo don't make consoles specifically for me. It's looking most likely they'll stick to another hybrid with some obvious improvements but backwards compatibility with the Switch is a must for a far better chance of continued success imo. Aware games having trophies doesn't translate to being a better game but if Nintendo has their very own trophies/achievements on their new console I might just be back on board
@Cashews lol the original PS2 is far sexier than the slim PS2. Used to hate how the slim PS2 opens meaning the slimness of it all became completely useless. The DualShock 4 was a very much needed improvement at the time and the DualSense (for me at least) is now the greatest controller my gaming paws has ever gamed on
@Cashews I haven't gamed on Nintendo since the original Wii and 3DS. Around 2013/14 being my last time on a Nintendo?. I just wanted Nintendo to do a more traditional home console like it did with the Gamecube even though Gamecube didn't do so well for itself. Plus the fact I'm well into the better online experiences the PS4/5 has and the whole trophy thing I really enjoy quite a lot on many games these days. If Nintendo did a far more up to date home console with a really good controller for it and far better online with their very own versions of trophies/achievements I'll be all over it and they'll end up with far better 3rd party support on almost every 3rd party game like PS and Xbox mostly does. Obviously not played Switch cloud versions but it looks like they suck? from everything I've heard. I wouldn't mind playing with Mario and Zelda in 4k and possible smoother fps and bit of ray. I'd really love to try 100% platting a new Zelda or Metroid game in 4K and better fps with ray
@Cashews oh my bad got my date numbers mixed up, almost 4 years instead of almost 5 years then, my point still stands though. it's very debatable as to whether the Switch is current gen or not or last gen. What it has done though is get all their Nintendo handheld fans (of which there is a lot) and combined them altogether with their console release. It's one of the smartest moves in gaming history imo and it's genuinly payed off as the numbers don't lie. Also the Switch being the cheapest on the market with various different versions to go for has helped with sales for sure. I'll ask a question, if Nintendo released a genuinely updated home console (not a hybrid handheld) with a possible 4K and a possible smooth 60fps and possible ray tracing like the other two current gen consoles do at a price of around 400, 450 or maybe close to 500 do you think it will be as successful as the current Switch has been, I don't think it will?
@Cashews I don't claim to know any business talk of these giant company's. What I do know is 40 mil in less than 3 years and in the middle of a pendemic is very impressive. The Switch released in March 2017 and has constantly sold great numbers 2nd to none. PS5 released in November 2021 during a pandemic almost 5 years after the Switch and with Switch having 100 mil sold by the time the PS5 originally released. Of course the Switch is gonna be the more popular current console when it's been on the market almost 5 years before the PS5. Even though the Switch ain't current gen and wasn't exactly current gen on the previous gen
@trev666 yh that's gotta be it. So there's potentially 3 new PS5 consoles coming by the end of next year. A slim, a detachable and a potential PS5 pro towards the end of 2024. I'm doubting the slim as I think the slim will also be the detachable and even when adding the disc drive it'll still be slimmer than the current PS5
@Cashews Sony is not happy with the number of consoles sold, I'm doubting this one considering they've recently announced 40 million PS5s sold and not just shipped or sitting on store shelves, every single one of those 40 mil are in gamers hands. Considering the pandemic and shortages Sony went through 40 mil sold is very pleasing if you ask me. Maybe these recent deal sales are Sonys way of trying to make up for those sales that were much slower than usual during the pandemic
Wouldn't be surprised the DualSense controller sales have gone through the roof too at 30% off. Can't remember PS4 having similar deal sales like this that ain't Black Friday. The more I think about it the more it feels a little weird like somethings going on as to why or maybe it's just clever marketing to get more gamers on PS5. Sell the PS5 for less than usual but make huge gains by getting many more PS5s sold than usual
Absolutely nothing wrong with Sony offering their latest console and controllers on discounts. Struggling to see how any of this is a bad thing, regardless of a new console refresh or not. Just grabbed the Starlight Blue DualSense in my local Argos store for £42. So pleased with the deal and buzzing my manboobies off
Be far to busy enjoying the MGS collection all over again and platting Spidey2. The entire Like a Dragon (Yakuza) series is one of my all time favs but my god do I need a break from it all. Have to finish off Ishin first before a break though ha
None of these are for me but in a weird sort of way I'm kinda glad. I can more reliably work on my backlog without thinking of more must play games to be playing which also includes many other PS Plus games too. Dreams would have been better on Plus well over a year ago and now it's not supported anymore from September onwards kinda puts me off it quite a bit
Yup going to my local Cineworld on my doorstep barely a few mins on foot. If enjoyed it enough in cinema then I'll be getting it on physical 4K too which will obviously be in better quality than streaming 4K content that you don't own. Really enjoy movie/documentaries like Senna, Le Mans 66(Ford vs Ferrari), Williams and Rush and being such a huge Gran Turismo fan for 25 plus years now, so this GT movie is right up my alley
@Cashews early reviews from those who have seen it early says its really good. Sony Pictures youtube channel alone has 3 trailers at 7.4 mil, 4.6 mil and 15 mil. The whole GT video game series has almost 100 mil games sold soon. While none of this translates to more bottoms on cinema seats, it does show its way more popular of a series than some will give it credit for. With these sort of numbers it has a better chance of being a success rather than a flop. On top of all that, there is around the world just so many people who are fans of all sorts of motorsports in general, meaning there could be many potential motorsports fans going to see the GT movie despite never playing a GT game before?
The rarest Skyline R34 GT-R z tune is a possible million at auction with only 19 ever made. If not modified and in great original condition with its briefcase fully complete its an easy mil at auction all day long. It rarely goes on auction being so rare, so could potentially be more these days?
This is a really weird shadow drop. Even Scorn and Powerwash Simulator that came to PS about a year after got a bit of marketing from PS before release. Intrigued enough to want to try it for myself but only on a massive discount, most likely in 2025
@Marquez have the standard white and black for most games and the all black DualSense specifically for racing games only, makes the controllers last a little bit longer this way. Saving my cosmic red DualSense for when needed, probably in a couple years from now. Most likely grab the blue one next year
Actually given it another thought. It's gonna be around £150 all in for the plates and controller maybe more. I'd soon rather just get another standard DualSense in two or three years when genuinely need one. Already have two still in good condition plus a sealed cherry DualSense. Tempted by the light blue DualSense next
Wouldn't mind the faceplates and controller. What do they mean by limited these days, guessing you'll have to be quick and will only be available from PlayStations very own online store. Highly unlikely I'll be able to secure a pre order, maybe if its available on Amazon but I'm 99.99999% sure it'll be sold out on there. Oh well its not needed to enjoy the game come 20th October anyways but would be nice
In all the reviews I've seen and read, not one has convinced me to part with my money, even if it was on PS Plus Premium or Extra day one I still wouldn't download it. My huge never ending backlog has far superior games to be always trying out and finishing. Not one for online shooters at all, even with dinosaurs and Sci fi involved. When I think of Capcom games I don't ever think of online shooters. All the powers to you if yous really enjoying it
@Anke still got my copy of Driveclub as well and still have all the Motorstorms too. Out of Resistance, Killzone, Driveclub and Motorstorm I'm hoping 1 maybe 2 of them will return one day, 3 of them would be better
Intrigued for it. PS rebooting Motorstorm or Driveclub might just be perfect for PS having their own Forza Horizon competitor. Polyphony have ticked all the boxes when it comes to the more serious side of closed circuit racing but PS 1st party have nothing when it comes to having an over the top arcade racer of their own. There is of course always great 3rd party arcade racers like here on this article but not on the PS 1st party side. Who would be the most likely PS 1st party studio to do an over the top arcade racer of their own similar to something like Horizon outside of Polyphony Digital is another question, as Evolution studios no longer exists
@Ravix yh I've heard it can be a big time consumer and the expansion is almost a full size game within itself. Also heard that the platinum can be quite challenging and a few easy to miss missables. If really enjoying it when get round to it, the time consuming part of it all will become irrelevant
Still a Witcher 3 virgin but I am ready to go as its been installed since the remaster first came out. Didn't pay the full price for it of course, tried to be clever and got the PS4 goty complete edition for around £7 on sale when the remaster was first announced. Damn you backlog

Re: PS5 Sales Absolutely Explode in the UK Following Price Cut
@trev666 yh that's gotta be it. So there's potentially 3 new PS5 consoles coming by the end of next year. A slim, a detachable and a potential PS5 pro towards the end of 2024. I'm doubting the slim as I think the slim will also be the detachable and even when adding the disc drive it'll still be slimmer than the current PS5
Re: PS5 Sales Absolutely Explode in the UK Following Price Cut
@Cashews Sony is not happy with the number of consoles sold, I'm doubting this one considering they've recently announced 40 million PS5s sold and not just shipped or sitting on store shelves, every single one of those 40 mil are in gamers hands. Considering the pandemic and shortages Sony went through 40 mil sold is very pleasing if you ask me. Maybe these recent deal sales are Sonys way of trying to make up for those sales that were much slower than usual during the pandemic
Re: PS5 Sales Absolutely Explode in the UK Following Price Cut
Wouldn't be surprised the DualSense controller sales have gone through the roof too at 30% off. Can't remember PS4 having similar deal sales like this that ain't Black Friday. The more I think about it the more it feels a little weird like somethings going on as to why or maybe it's just clever marketing to get more gamers on PS5. Sell the PS5 for less than usual but make huge gains by getting many more PS5s sold than usual
Re: Deals: Top PS5 Products Reduced to Black Friday-Level Prices in Sony Summer Sale (UK)
Absolutely nothing wrong with Sony offering their latest console and controllers on discounts. Struggling to see how any of this is a bad thing, regardless of a new console refresh or not. Just grabbed the Starlight Blue DualSense in my local Argos store for £42. So pleased with the deal and buzzing my manboobies off
Re: Latest Like a Dragon May Have Really Erased Its PS5, PS4 Retail Release
Be far to busy enjoying the MGS collection all over again and platting Spidey2. The entire Like a Dragon (Yakuza) series is one of my all time favs but my god do I need a break from it all. Have to finish off Ishin first before a break though ha
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for August 2023 Announced
None of these are for me but in a weird sort of way I'm kinda glad. I can more reliably work on my backlog without thinking of more must play games to be playing which also includes many other PS Plus games too. Dreams would have been better on Plus well over a year ago and now it's not supported anymore from September onwards kinda puts me off it quite a bit
Re: PS Plus Members Can Watch the Gran Turismo Movie Early
Yup going to my local Cineworld on my doorstep barely a few mins on foot. If enjoyed it enough in cinema then I'll be getting it on physical 4K too which will obviously be in better quality than streaming 4K content that you don't own. Really enjoy movie/documentaries like Senna, Le Mans 66(Ford vs Ferrari), Williams and Rush and being such a huge Gran Turismo fan for 25 plus years now, so this GT movie is right up my alley
Re: You Could Own the Gran Turismo Movie's Nissan GT-R Racing Car with Upcoming Auction
Re: You Could Own the Gran Turismo Movie's Nissan GT-R Racing Car with Upcoming Auction
The rarest Skyline R34 GT-R z tune is a possible million at auction with only 19 ever made. If not modified and in great original condition with its briefcase fully complete its an easy mil at auction all day long. It rarely goes on auction being so rare, so could potentially be more these days?
Re: All of a Sudden, High on Life Is Out Now on PS5, PS4
This is a really weird shadow drop. Even Scorn and Powerwash Simulator that came to PS about a year after got a bit of marketing from PS before release. Intrigued enough to want to try it for myself but only on a massive discount, most likely in 2025
Re: PS4 Version of Snarky Xbox Shooter High on Life Found Loitering in PlayStation Backend
@JAMes-BroWWWn Ark 2 and Powerwash Simulator
Re: Amazing Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Bundle Announced
@Marquez have the standard white and black for most games and the all black DualSense specifically for racing games only, makes the controllers last a little bit longer this way. Saving my cosmic red DualSense for when needed, probably in a couple years from now. Most likely grab the blue one next year
Re: Amazing Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Bundle Announced
Actually given it another thought. It's gonna be around £150 all in for the plates and controller maybe more. I'd soon rather just get another standard DualSense in two or three years when genuinely need one. Already have two still in good condition plus a sealed cherry DualSense. Tempted by the light blue DualSense next
Re: Amazing Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Bundle Announced
Wouldn't mind the faceplates and controller. What do they mean by limited these days, guessing you'll have to be quick and will only be available from PlayStations very own online store. Highly unlikely I'll be able to secure a pre order, maybe if its available on Amazon but I'm 99.99999% sure it'll be sold out on there. Oh well its not needed to enjoy the game come 20th October anyways but would be nice
Re: Exoprimal (PS5) - One of the Most Promising Online Co-Op Shooters in Eons
In all the reviews I've seen and read, not one has convinced me to part with my money, even if it was on PS Plus Premium or Extra day one I still wouldn't download it. My huge never ending backlog has far superior games to be always trying out and finishing. Not one for online shooters at all, even with dinosaurs and Sci fi involved. When I think of Capcom games I don't ever think of online shooters. All the powers to you if yous really enjoying it
Re: Preview: The Crew Motorfest Finally Hands PS5 Some Proper Arcade Racing
@Anke still got my copy of Driveclub as well and still have all the Motorstorms too. Out of Resistance, Killzone, Driveclub and Motorstorm I'm hoping 1 maybe 2 of them will return one day, 3 of them would be better
Re: Preview: The Crew Motorfest Finally Hands PS5 Some Proper Arcade Racing
Re: The Witcher 3 PS5, PS4 Update 4.04 Is Out Now, Fixes Ray Tracing Mode
@Ravix yh I've heard it can be a big time consumer and the expansion is almost a full size game within itself. Also heard that the platinum can be quite challenging and a few easy to miss missables. If really enjoying it when get round to it, the time consuming part of it all will become irrelevant
Re: The Witcher 3 PS5, PS4 Update 4.04 Is Out Now, Fixes Ray Tracing Mode
Still a Witcher 3 virgin but I am ready to go as its been installed since the remaster first came out. Didn't pay the full price for it of course, tried to be clever and got the PS4 goty complete edition for around £7 on sale when the remaster was first announced. Damn you backlog
