Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 495

Beerheadgamer82

Only been able to play a little Unpacking. Health took a massive nosedive since Monday night with one of the worst flu I've ever had and only just recently got better but still only 90% back to normal. Was gonna carry on with RE4remake for Separate Ways but flu has made it impossible to do this week. RE4remake requires you to be fully switched on with your quick normal reaction times and its easy to miss collectables with a flu. Torturous nightmare this week. Can now save RE4remake for October at least

Re: Microsoft One Step Closer to Activision Buyout as CMA Approves of Deal Changes

Beerheadgamer82

@Deljo focusing time and money on your favourite one console makes a lot of sense to a lot of gamers. Focus and time being the key points here. Having all 3 can be a waste of money because there's never enough time to enjoy them all nevermind having the money for them all and their subscriptions that go along with it. Priorities also being another key point. Why have all 3 when your favourite out of the 3 would be used 90% of the time, 2nd favourite 9% of the time and your least favourite 1% of the time possibly just ending up a dust collector. Everyone games differently and it's not just a clear option of simply having them all, that doesn't make sense for many. Can easily focus on all PS5 games and PS Plus by completely ignoring the other vise versa

Re: Microsoft One Step Closer to Activision Buyout as CMA Approves of Deal Changes

Beerheadgamer82

@GeeForce having two trillion in the bank doesn't give a company any automatic rights to go around buying up some of the biggest and best in the business and then go onto lock out well over half the entire home console install base by potentially making hundreds of 3rd party games now only available on XboxPC. This doesn't contain a few games like most acquisitions do, hence why the long drawn out court battles. Microsoft has a history of monopoly and if they're stupidly allowed to carry on this path of more big acquisitions in the near close future then its nothing other than a genuine monopoly, it's already a monopoly to me right now as it is

Re: Microsoft One Step Closer to Activision Buyout as CMA Approves of Deal Changes

Beerheadgamer82

@Godot25 I was referring to Sony spending almost an actual 80 billion of real money like Microsoft has, so yes I am correct it is literally 100% IMPOSSIBLE for Sony to do the same with real money. Your method is completely different to what I was originally on about. Also Sony would never be stupid enough to take that sort of risk, they obviously don't have deep pockets like some. It's definitely possible for Sony to spend I dunno guessing 5 to 8 billion on a chunky acquisition of their own at some point but nothing like close to 80 billion that's genuinely impossible for Sony. I'm not really sure why you have to keep altering what I originally said just to go better with your narrative, its a little weird

Re: Microsoft One Step Closer to Activision Buyout as CMA Approves of Deal Changes

Beerheadgamer82

@theSpectre I understand it from a different set of fans pov, like they just wanna have all the good games and play them all because that's what all types of gamers really want. It's the false comparisons between the acquisitions and how there of equal measure that's annoying to read everytime. I mean there's a reason Microsoft had to go to court for their recent acquisition and Sony didn't have to for theirs, tells you all you need to know. Surely Xbox fans can count and know the difference between 69 billion and 3.6 billion or surely they know the difference between an acquisition having 100+ games compared to an acquisition that has only a few games. If Xbox fans think that's of the same equal then they must be in cuckoo land or just most likely bending the truth to suit the console they game on, it happens nothing new there

Re: Microsoft One Step Closer to Activision Buyout as CMA Approves of Deal Changes

Beerheadgamer82

@Godot25 we are getting Xbox defenders here saying if PS do it why can't Xbox, absolutely nothing wrong with that. That's simply not true in recent reality though is it. Sure both have done many similar size acquisitions in the past but I'm specifically talking about Sony having to spend almost 80 billion like Microsoft recently has is impossible for Sony to do that, so I'm not wrong. Not in anyway bending the truth here like some here are. UNPRECEDENTED

Re: Microsoft One Step Closer to Activision Buyout as CMA Approves of Deal Changes

Beerheadgamer82

@Netret0120 Insomniac was 229 million and had been releasing many exclusive games for Playstations many years before being acquired by Sony. Bungie at 3.6 billion ain't no small change but was only allowed to be purchased with all their games Destiny Marathon remaining 3rd party for all. Meanwhile Microsoft almost 80 billion on two of the biggest game company's in the industry with so many games that it would become unhealthy to list them all here. Yh you can obviously say oh well Sony would do the same if they also had similar money for it, but that's purely based on fantasy, not the reality of what's currently going on

Re: Microsoft One Step Closer to Activision Buyout as CMA Approves of Deal Changes

Beerheadgamer82

It's crazy to think that in 2019 every gamer thought all those many Bethesda and ActiBlzz games were all 3rd party as usual. Fast forward almost 4 years that's no longer the case. Can you imagine saying to someone while they're playing his/her PS4 in 2019 that by 2023 onwards all those many games have a good chance of never coming to PlayStation ever again, you'd never imagine that in 2019 but here we are. Never known anything like it before and how those leaked emails read it looks like it won't be ending anytime soon. These are hundreds of potential games not just half a dozen. Mind boggling greed because they're so crap at delivering good high quality 1st party games with the studios they had before consistently every year, spend 80 billion so they can deliver every year on 1st party at the expense of making so many great longtime 3rd party games as exclusives. Not a handful of games but potentially hundred+. It's their greed for GamePass and wanting to be the Netflix of gaming. Disgusting

Re: Preview: Like a Dragon, SEGA's Once Embattled Yakuza Series, Has Never Been Better

Beerheadgamer82

@thefourfoldroot1 have a lot more patience than I do. I get to a point after the story is complete thinking to myself well I've already put in 70 to 100+ hours into the game already and what's usually left for plat is usually all the boring mundane repetitive stuff that I didn't much care for while enjoying the story. The mundane that is left after story completion can require another 30 to 50+ hours for plat. Just satisfied getting all sub stories, defeating Amon and as much of all other miscellaneous trophies in the story as I can

Re: Preview: Like a Dragon, SEGA's Once Embattled Yakuza Series, Has Never Been Better

Beerheadgamer82

@thefourfoldroot1 lol don't get me started on Yakuza platinums. The only Yakuza plat I have is Y6 Song of Life, not necessarily because it's easier but because it took out over 75% of the boring grind after story completion. It's the only one thing I really hate with Yakuza games, the grind is so boring and takes out all the fun by the end. So now I'll just get 60 to 80% of all the trophies and be done with it. Didn't mind Dead Souls at the time but needs a proper smoother remaster for modern consoles as its a bit on the clunky side these days

Re: Preview: Like a Dragon, SEGA's Once Embattled Yakuza Series, Has Never Been Better

Beerheadgamer82

@UltimateOtaku91 Xbox been throwing around the money these past few years for GamePass and RGG wanted in on that money. When so much money is being offered to RGG, all the previous amount of work done with Sony then becomes sort of irrelevant to them now. RGG will just be glad to have their game on more consoles and will now have chunky amount of cash from Xbox for GamePass. All RGG see is more popular game series and more money

Re: Preview: Like a Dragon, SEGA's Once Embattled Yakuza Series, Has Never Been Better

Beerheadgamer82

Have officially burned out on Yakuza games after almost 18 years of enjoying them all. Really enjoyed Ishin but that's where the burn out started. Still one of my fav game series of all time and will eventually be getting these new Like a Dragon games but not on release like before, need a break from it first. It's good the series is getting bigger and more mainstream these days and with the many new fans on Xbox. Does make me laugh though when some Xbox gamers acting like it's their series made just for them because of GamePass, while many PS gamers have been enjoying the series for 15 years previously. Why not put it on Nintendo now with some multiple collections as well for them to catch up a little, which I'm pretty sure many Nintendo fans will appreciate

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Mortal Kombat 1?

Beerheadgamer82

Those fatalities are always fun to watch but its the only thing it offers, constantly doing fatalities over and over again. Online fighting get my a** handed to me no thanks. The career stories get repetitive in fighting games super quick. Remember trying SF5 on Plus and it was the same thing repeating itself again and again. SF6 does look like it's added a little more though

Re: Xbox Documents Reveal Staggering Cost of Bringing Games to Game Pass, PS Plus

Beerheadgamer82

Wonder how much Gotham Knights cost GamePass with the game being a year old now and how much it would have cost Sony for PS Plus. Possibly cost way more than Saints Row hence why Sony went with Saints Row instead. This also could mean PS Plus will be getting Gotham Knights later next year when it gets a little cheaper for PS Plus?. Love to see both set of numbers for Sea of Stars given how both were day one on both, possibly cost PS Plus more than GamePass?. How much was Wu Long Lies of P day ones and all the others. How much is it costing Microsoft for Ark 2 exclusivity and for it to be day one. Could be a lot closer than we think or one could have to be paying way more than the other. Need more details but we ain't ever meant to know these things to begin with so I'll take whatever we get

Re: Hands On: Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Update Is an Outstanding, Game-Changing Overhaul

Beerheadgamer82

This the first time that this game now genuinely feels like the best time to jump back in. Will be hoping to finally jump back in later this year at some point, maybe very early next year. Quite a few many backlog to do for now and MGS collection and Spiderman2 round the corner plus Hogwarts Legacy still sealed for December. Might get my moneys worth from Cyberpunk2077 now. Better late, than never at all, even though it should have been heavily delayed, especially on PS4 and ONE or completely skipping last gen

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Baldur's Gate 3?

Beerheadgamer82

An absolute noob with zero gaming experience with this type of game but also have massive fomo too given all the high praise and positivity its been deservedly getting. Thought it was just PC where these games were huge with the console side being far more niche. Hoping many other development teams take note

Re: Preview: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Plays Like PS5 Superhero Perfection

Beerheadgamer82

@Sakai think the last bland open world Ubisoft I played was FC6. If Ubisofts open worlds was as much fun as Insomniacs Spiderman and Miles Morales then not only would it lose some its not so good reputation its known for, it would also more than triple their game sales. Although I suppose Spiderman is such a huge name anyway and if Ubisoft did their usual bland open world version of a Spiderman game it would sell a bit more than they're used to because the Spiderman name alone

Re: Preview: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Plays Like PS5 Superhero Perfection

Beerheadgamer82

@Cashews lol looks good to me and looks more fun than Elden Ring, Breath of the Wild and GTA5 combined, that's all that matters to me. I don't really care what anybody else thinks to be perfectly honest, hence why I said what I said. Its a really good put together preview even if it didn't need to mention Elden Ring, Breath of the Wild or GTA5 but I also get why it does, for context and comparison of other open worlds

Re: State of Play Livestream Revealed for Thursday, a Focus on Indie and Third-Party Games

Beerheadgamer82

@Cashews I'd really like to own a Switch. It's mostly down to money and time though. I agree having them all is always best but that's simply not an option for so many. So concentrating time and money on one makes a lot of sense for a lot of gamers. I do hate some opinions trying to come across as if they have a far better more valid opinion than others because they own them all kinda mentality, not all that own them all are like that but I hate the ones that do. I'd like to have them all tbh

Re: State of Play Livestream Revealed for Thursday, a Focus on Indie and Third-Party Games

Beerheadgamer82

@Grumblevolcano At some point there has to be on off year or 18 months of not much going on. Games get pushed back or heavily delayed all the time like TLoU multiplayer for example. There's been reports of games taking a lot longer than previous gen too. Still far more excited for what's to come on PS5 than I am on other consoles. Never played Skyrim, just never interested me over the years so naturally something like Starfield doesn't interest me in the slightest, same with any Fallout game has never been to my tastes either. Even when looking at whats to come for Xbox in the future doesn't excite me much at all tbh. Do like all sorts of racing games so naturally Forza peaks my interests, but is that really worth splashing out 500 for a Series X and a few months GamePass, not really. Do miss a Zelda adventure and a new fun Mario platformer from time to time. On the other hand PS have so many games, like a lot of sequels I can't wait to play and new unannounced IP from quite a few PS studios I really adore. Even the PS4 had an of off year or almost a couple years with not much going on but then hit the ground running from 2017 HZD onwards. Previous PS Showcase was a let down, there's no denying that but it ain't all doom and gloom like some like to paint it. Can't just click your fingers and expect a game to magically get announced when they can take up to 4 or maybe 6 years to make, sometimes longer. So yh sometimes there's gonna be remasters, remakes and the many great 3rd party games that we rely on to fill the gaps inbetween

Re: State of Play Livestream Revealed for Thursday, a Focus on Indie and Third-Party Games

Beerheadgamer82

@UltimateOtaku91 and then there's the day one 3rd party on GamePass Wu Long and Lies of P for example. Be really fascinating to see how much they end up costing Microsoft for these biggish 3rd party day ones, cant be cheap and in the long run will get super expensive. Sony having more subs and more consoles in homes, means they'll have to pay more than what Microsoft currently does for the exact same game day one on Plus if they went the similar route. Its things some gamers don't think about or simply don't care about and that's obviously fine because why would you care when your gaming, couple trillion vs many a billions and all that jazz

I'd love to see Nintendo go all out and be a fully updated home console instead of already being 3 or 5 years behind on every new console launch. I'm not having any of that argument about oh Nintendo don't need to be updated with the latest and greatest. Why not Nintendo having a proper full 4K 60fps rays HDR home console no gimmicks and a brand new top tier dedicated handheld as well for the massive handheld crowd. No need for any Nintendo gamers to worry about parity in many massive 3rd party games this way. Also Nintys 1st party will look the best it's ever looked and silky smooth. Throw in their own version of trophies as well why not

Re: State of Play Livestream Revealed for Thursday, a Focus on Indie and Third-Party Games

Beerheadgamer82

Nintendo Switch I'd hazard a guess would take less time to develop their 1st party games in comparison to the latest PS5 and Series X 1st party releases, hence why the Switch has been more consistent over the last few years on their 1st party side. Weird to think if Microsoft wasn't able to spend 7.5 billion for Starfield and Bethesda, all they'd have this year would be yet another Forza game

Re: State of Play Livestream Revealed for Thursday, a Focus on Indie and Third-Party Games

Beerheadgamer82

Lol just knew some in the comments section will be going nutcases over this announcement, especially when the focus of this SoP will be indies and 3rd party only

Just finished my first playthrough of Shredders Revenge with Donatello from Extra on PS5, enjoyed it very much. And then afterwards came here for the news to read people acting as if Sony has just murdered their family pet or something. Like what did you expect, we all knew before this SoP announcement that there's not much 1st party over the next 6 months or more besides Spidey2

This SoP was not in anyway a reaction to Nintendos current Direct announcement, so stupid if you think that it was

Would I like a bit more 1st party from PS, yh of course I would, but over 90% of all the games I play on PlayStation are 3rd party games with quite a few indies too

Re: Colossal PS Store Sale Plunges Thousands of PS5, PS4 Prices

Beerheadgamer82

@Templedoom something like used CeX games can also be good for buying a game used that you don't want to support like the recent no effort port of RDR1. I get what you saying though and you aint wrong. When a new game is good and lots of effort has gone into it there's so many that will day one it still or eventually get it new digitally or physically a few months later
