Rather than copying the combat formula and difficulty, I hope more games would copy the level designs of Souls games, more specifically, DS1's interconnected levels. I'm still amazed at how everything connects you back to the Firelink shrine and how you can find shortcuts without the game ever telling you about them

When it comes to FFVII's love story, I don't really have a personal choice here but if we go about the canon events of the OG FFVII leading to Advent Children, Tifa is the obvious endgame girl for Cloud, regardless of how you feel about the relationship between Cloud and Aerith.

Square is just playing it safe as to not anger their Tifa/Aerith fanbase

Since COVID started back in 2020, I found myself buying digital games more and more. Even my FFVII Remake and Rebirth are both in digital.

Not a big fan of the Warriors-style game (outside of Dynasty Warriors Gundam which we need more of on modern consoles, please Namco Bandai and Koei) but from playing the demo of origins, I'd say I enjoyed it and glad the game is doing well.

It's gonna be a long recovery for Sony from here on out. It's unfortunate that we won't see the effects until PS6 but this is better than nothing. Good riddance to the Jim Ryan era of live service games

Definitely the weakest entry in the mainline RE games but RE6 has been kind of a guilty pleasure for me to play. I end up playing it from time to time, ngl.

I wish game devs would stop showing cinematic trailers for new IPs. If you want to sell your game, show us the gameplay for the first time

I'm just hoping that all those cancelled live service games meant that Sony saw the light and day after the success of Astro Bot and wanted to try doing more single-player games with the same element.

Sony could still do live service games. Hell Divers 2 was a success for them but that's a game that already has some multiplayer elements built in it and is a game that isn't trying to chase trends but rather, was a fun PVE game of its own. Sony should be wise enough by now on how they would invest in GaaS

On one hand, it's a good thing that Sony cancels these GaaS games this early.

On the other, it's sad to think that Bluepoint's 1st original game would be a live-service that could have tainted their brand had Sony decided not to cancel the project.

Looks like it's going to take a long while before we could see the next Bluepoint game and it could be a PS6 game

I'd love to support remasters but there's still no remaster for Bloodborne or Gravity Rush 2.

Just tried it and it really isn't that far off to Genshin in terms of gameplay and mechanics. Nothing too special for me to keep going on, then again, that's how it felt to me when I started Genshin when it first released

Congrats and hope this sends a message to Sony that we need more games like Astro Bot and sometimes, we do not need more million dollar budgeted games (as well as live-service) that take years to come out.

Considering the success of Armored Core 6, I would love to see an expansion and/or AC7 next. Also, really hoping for a new A.C.E game and yes, I think it's about time Fromsoft revives the King's Field series

Happy 30th anniversary. Got to admit, that I am a PS fanboy (but hey, I'm also a Nintendo fanboy tbf). Started my journey with PS1 and since then, i've played all of the PS systems. PS1 still holds up as my all time favorite gaming console with the PS4 in close 2nd. Lots of games that I love even to this day started mostly on PS1, e.g., FFIX, FFVII, MGS1, Castlevania SoTN. While those series didn't exactly started with PS, it's what introduced me to these amazing series and the reason why I still love them to this day

That split second MGS4 and Bloodborne tease at the end tho. Damn, Sony really need to do something about their "legacy"

I could go on. The PS1 just have such an amazing library of games. Good times.

P3 is my favorite in the Persona series and I really enjoyed P3R. Really is a shame that it was snubbed but I have to admit, I often forget that Reload was released this year. There's a lot of great game this year that they all deserve some win. Still, even if it wasn't nominated, that doesn't make the game awful or anything and I can't complain much, 2024 has been a great year for JRPG.

Not surprised with DQIII HD sales. It's a beast of a series in Japan. Still, congratulations to the dev team. Game is gorgeous in HD-2D

They really need that win. C'mon, Bamco, release the newest Gundam Extreme VS game for PS4/PS5 already

The story and characters are what made me love this game. I did not expect to be hooked from beginning to end since my expectations were pretty low. Glad to be proven wrong. Not my personal GOTY per say but it's definitely one of my favorites this year

The bigger picture here is that Sony might have a monopoly in the anime and manga industry. If it's just FromSoft, I don't mind but this can be quite concerning.

Really hoping for AC Unity to get a 60fps boost as well. I know it got problems but that game really have my favorite parkour mechanic

FFVII Rebirth got my vote but Astro Bot and Wukong are strong contenders

My vote still goes to FFVII Rebirth but games like Stellar Blade, Space Marine and Silent Hill 2 Remake were robbed.

Had a weird glitch where you're supposed to meet Maria. Saved the game after getting out of the apartment and after a few days, loaded the game and when I got to the garden (before meeting Maria) she was there all of a sudden (it was almost a jumpscare, lol). I thought it was weird since I haven't met her at that point. I only knew it was a glitch because I couldn't get to the exact area where you're suppose meet her (because she's already behind me) and even weird, I was stuck and couldn't get back.

Luckily, I had a separate save point after "that" boss fight, loaded that and got back to that area and finally triggered the Maria cutscene.

Anyway, weird glitch but after that, haven't really encountered any major game breaking bugs. Also, happy for this update. Not done with the game yet since I'm playing this dead at the night for emersion and boy, this game is one hell of an experience at night, with headphones on and lights off

It has fishing mini game. Yep, that's all I need to know for me to consider this as a GOAT game

I honestly can't think of any other way for this to work as a game other than maybe a visual novel (akin to an Ace Attorney or a puzzle game like the Layton series)
