RIP my wallet. I wasn't planning to get Metaphor this month but the demo changed my mind. I just hope this won't add up to my already increasing JRPG backlog. Can't wait to continue the journey.
Still hoping for a new Siren game but this is fine for now. We do need more of those classic PS2 horror games on modern platforms. SIREN 2, the Fatal Frame 1,2 and 3, Fromsoft's Kuon, etc.
Silent Hill 3 and 4 would be nice as well but with the positive reviews SH2 remake is getting, there's a high chance those two will also get the remake treatment
Banger after banger. Sadly, I'll be missing out on this for a few months but will definitely pick it up in the future. I've already decided on Silent Hill 2 Remake for this month since it's a perfect Halloween game
The PS button layouts are already 2nd nature for me. Transitioning to the Nintendo controls of A,B,X,Y was quite a challenge during the DS/3DS era but I got used to them eventually.
That said, it was the Xbox control layout where I got very confused. I bought a used Xbox 360 last year to play some of its exclusives like Gears of War and Halo 4 and this was the moment I got confused by the button layout since I'm already very used to Nintendo's. It's a struggle for me especially during some QTE in certain games and I often get confused by it (e.g. when the game asks to press "X" only for me to press the "Y" button instead)
As for the confirm/cancel with the Nintendo, maybe because I'm already used to playing Japanese games before but my muscle memories already knows that I had to press the "A" button for confirm and "B" for cancel/return. Again, this is probably because I've been very used to the Japanese control layout (For PS "O" is confirm and "X" for cancel which I've gotten used to during the PSP era).
In this day and age of Sony remastering/remaking their games, I think now's a good opportunity to revive Siren again. I would love to play the games again with updated control and graphics. This is also one of those Sony IP that is well beloved in Japan.
C'mon Sony, just do it. Remake/Remaster the whole Siren games
Would love to play this soon but if the delay means improvements then I can understand. I guess I have two games that are set in feudal Japan to look forward to next year then.
I really like the phasing on this one. There are some few games that I was interested in that was announced but in general, the way how this show was presented was actually pretty good. Also a good way to end the show by revealing something new, being Ghost of Yotei. I'd say today's SoP did not disappoint
Ok gotta admit, that classic color scheme really works especially for the controllers. Sony really should have kept the classic button colors from the start.
I think there's more to it than just exclusivity deal. Like sure, that's part of it but I think there's more than that (also aside from Square's absurd expectations for their games).
I think it's about time Square takes the FF games back its roots of traditional turn-based. Hate to admit it but as much as I love FFXVI, its combat mechanic didn't land for many fans of the franchise. FFVII Rebirth's combat is amazing but not enough to entice people.
Not to mention, Persona 5, Honkai Star Rail, Yakuza 7 and the upcoming Expidition 33 are good sample that turn-based RPG can be good if done correctly in today's day and age where this genre is kinda niche
I'm in no rush to get the DLC. I've played P3 and P3FES on my PS2 countless times back in the days and playing P3R, there really hasn't been any major changes with the plot so I assume that there won't be much changes in this DLC either, story-wise. Will probably get this DLC down the line once it goes on sale.
Astro Bot still did well. NBA 2K games just sell like pancakes (sadly). From where I live, NBA games always sells easily every year (despite them being nearly the same as the previous titles)
I always prefer Performance most of the time but I got to say, I tried playing FFVII Rebirth in graphics mode and the difference between performance and graphics mode is day and night. Didn't realize how gorgeous the game looks despite being in 30fps
Expensive for what it offers. If PS5 Pro came with a disc drive and a vertical stand, maybe people would be more accepting (That 2TB storage is not enough to justify that $700 price). Even the base PS5 offered more than this
@Dodoo I'm all set with my PS5 and next year, I'm just waiting for Nintendo's Switch successor, especially since it's their games that could use more enhancements more than PS5 games.
Lately, I've been buying a lot of digital games (sometimes replacing some of my old physical games like Arkham Knight)
Still, I would love to have the option to have a disc drive and I don't for physical games to go out soon. While it's good to know that the PS5 Pro is compatible with the removable disc drive, it should have been included at that price
@Darth_Stofi VII is what made the Final Fantasy series a juggernaut of a franchise that it is today and the reason why Playstation has been associated with the series at this point until XIII. One can argue that they prefer VIII or IX (or whichever FF game), but one cannot deny the influence of VII and its legacy
Personally, I love IX more (with VII in close 2nd) but VII will always remain as the most important Final Fantasy game
This was my first Final Fantasy game and while it's not in my top 5, this still holds up as one of the memorable FF game (even though I never managed to complete this back in the days and it did took me years to finally beat)
PS5 Pro aside, and this is a shot in the dark but would love to hear Cerny talk about the success of PS Portal and how they could potentially explore the handheld market again.
@rjejr I don't understand your argument here. What does Nintendo have to do in this? Square is a 3rd party company that has been working with Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft for years.
This isn't about which games are exclusive to PS, but rather to pay homage to the Playstation legacy and the abscence of any SE series, particularly, FFVII is such a confusing decision since it's one of PS's most iconic 3rd party games.
Let's hope Cloud will drop in future DLC but otherwise, definitely a weird decision from Square to not let Cloud or other SE characters considering his Buster Sword was on Astro's Playroom and how iconic FF7 has been in the history of Playstation.
I already got Visions of Mana and Gundam Break 4 and won't be able to afford another game this month so sadly, I'm gonna miss out but I do want to try this in the future. For now, I think I'll settle with Astro's playroom, lol
As for the 2nd question, I'm actually surprised with the positive ratings it's getting but I am happy for Astro Bot. This is the kind of game we need more of and I'm really hoping the success of this game would lead to more platformers from Sony.
Wukong and now Astrobot. FFVII Rebirth really has some tough competion. There's also Echoes of Wisdom on the horizon. Definitely some good GOTY contenders.
GB4 and Visions of Mana both deserve it! Really having great times with both games.
Visions feels like going back to the old times of more traditional action RPG with some great visuals (also, gotta say I don't agree with the "bland" characters, lmao. They've been great so far and Morley instantly became my favorite).
While GB4 is great for its deeper customization compared to previous GB games. Even at early missions, you can already make some decent builds.
Really would be nice to see something about Gravity Rush, Ape Escape and Bloodborne. Really, anything from their legacy titles. Sony really have this unique legacy titles in their pocket but keep pretending they don't exist.
I wasn't planning on getting this game right away but with all the creative builds I've seen so far got me buying the game eventually lol.
Anyway, spot on review (as expected from the "Lightning Baron", lol).
Definitely the best aspect is the build and it's a lot easier to get the parts that you would want.
Combat wise (though this is me saying this while early in-game) but I notice that the missions are a lot shorter and more straight-forward compared to the previous games
So far, I'm enjoying the game and really liking the more creative freedom compared to previous Gundam Breaker games
In a way, this is Sony's karma for ignoring their fans and their legacy titles such as Bloodborne, Ape Escape, Gravity Rush, Killzone, Resistance, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, etc.
Let's hope Astro Bot does well enough that it sparks some hope for Sony to revisit their hidden gem of a games
The 10 people who bought the game can finally be refunded.
With all seriousness, it's better this way and let this be a lesson to Sony for pushing through their live service games. Not saying all of them are bad but there are definitely better ways to handle such games

Spent so much hours on Freedom Wars on my Vita. This game is so much fun.
Re: Mini Review: Persona 3 Reload: Episode Aigis (PS5) - Expensive Expansion Is a Flawed Affair
"An arguably unnecessary epilogue"
I really wouldn't say this is unneccessary since it answers the question of what exactly happened to "that one particular character" at the end of P3.
Thus why it's called "The Answer" in P3FES
Re: Mini Review: Persona 3 Reload: Episode Aigis (PS5) - Expensive Expansion Is a Flawed Affair
I'm in no rush to get the DLC. Man, Demon Souls will look even better now. Meanwhile, Bloodborne still hoping it will be noticed by Sony-senpai one of these days

lol, I don't have that luxury to upgrade to a PS5 Pro. TBH, I was expecting this price range and had no plans to upgrade regardless of its features
Was almost a miracle that I was able to get a PS5 last 2022 and I think I'm sticking with it.
Still, at that price, Sony should've at least offer a free vertical stand. The lack of disc drive is already nuts for a $700 console

Yeah, I'm sticking with my base PS5 that has a disc drive and a stand
