@get2sammyb while I agree that he should stay quiet. That same energy that goes to calling out his statements should also apply to the “industry analysts” that complained about ‘another white protagonist’. And there were plenty. Seems pushback is only safe in one direction, which requires no backbone.
My belief is the only reason this Remake exists because it’s coming to PC and it’s infinitely better than the PS4 Remaster. It would be a bad look to not have something comparable on the PS5.
This is my 4th total play though of the game over the years and it’s mind blowing how much better this experience is than the others over the last decade. The performances shine and become even more engaging in this new light. I’m in constant awe of this world I’ve seen multiple times before, but not like this.
If you don’t want to pay the price now, then wait for a sales drop or the inevitable placement on Plus down the road. Don’t deny yourself the absolute best version of this game though.
While it’s obvious that some so called ‘fans’ can go too far, there are legions more that don’t deserve to be lumped in with this bunch. I wish that those childish voices not be lifted and simply ignored by devs and media. Highlighting this garbage unfortunately always attracts more of it.
If true, I hope it comes with an announcement that the PS4 version has been ditched and that it’s the reason for the delay. I’d love to see what this game could do without the previous gen shackles.
I play racing games occasionally and not into sims but this game FEELS so good with gyro controls and Dualsense features, that I recommend to all. It’s glorious. I’m nearing the backend of the campaign and have not felt any desire spend money on micro transactions. That might change at some point but not necessary atm.
While some of the explanation is bs, I’m just relieved that this situation is resolved. I was in game when the update hit and it crashed my console. The long delay had me thinking the situation was catastrophic. I do feel they owe the players more than this and hopefully address the always online fiasco.
@Bleachedsmiles Ha, I mentioned the value of gamepass. It can’t be argued, what I’m arguing is only Microsoft can pull this off. If you think wiping out Sony and Nintendo is great, that’s your silly opinion to keep.
I think making Plus more valuable is what they need to do for sure. But make Microsoft prove that Gamepass is more than just sustainable. It’s not even close to necessary to chase such an unproven business model. There’s a reason Xbox is so secretive and cryptic about the numbers and the games media won’t even bother asking simple questions about the subscription numbers. Such as, what is the current subscriber amount and what constitutes a subscriber? No one can argue the value of Gamepass, but at this moment, only a company with pockets as deep as Microsoft can “sustain” this business model. Microsoft would love for Sony or Nintendo to chase this model because it would wipe them out.
Good Trailer. I think the look and feel of the series is there. The two leads might be a problem but I’ll wait to pass judgement. I’ll be there in Feb for sure.
@SilkySmile89 just thinking the same thing about HZD. If Forbidden West is officially delayed, then I hope we do get the upgrade for HZD this fall. It’s a little absurd we haven’t yet.
It’s past time to open up the SSD storage slot inside the PS5. While I can download most large games in between 30-40 minutes, I’m tired of choosing which games to delete. Wasn’t it supposed to be available by end of summer? Hope to hear something soon.
@The_New_Butler I agree that there’s a comparable sub in Now but Sony is not pushing it and likely for monetary reasons. Sony is not M’soft. They would absolutely need it to be profitable from the jump. How does Sony make 30 percent on a game that was played on a sub service? How many people are going to purchase games they already beat on a sub service. They make 30 percent on a 3rd party sale and 100 percent on a first party sale on PSN. Whatever pennies they make off a sub service will not sustain their business model. Xbox can and will wipe the floor with Sony if this model becomes industry standard. No way to compete unless Sony starts making a lot of service games. 100 million dollar plus budgets on games that can be finished inside a month can’t survive at launch on sub service. That’s not why fans love PlayStation. I’d prefer they stay the course and wait and see if it’s ever profitable for Xbox. Seeing as no developers are allowed to speak about it any meaningful makes me very skeptical.
I thought Phil said if IP has legacy on other platforms then it will still see support in the future . If this is true then a possible sequel should be in the works for PlayStation. If not, write an article holding M’softs feet to the fire. But my god, I’ve been coming to this site since 2011, and it currently feels like PlayStation is circling the drain. And that the PS5 has no value. It’s the only console that has released new games and it’s a joy to play on. But this site has become so blinded by Xbox’s marketing, which has almost always been better, and almost always underdelivered. I feel zero desire for another sub service. A service, btw, that Sony could never be profitable in and could bankrupt them into oblivion. These corps are playing different games but I’m not intrigued by another sub service. I’ve had GP for a month btw and do not miss it. I understand it’s perceived value, but only a company that has a deep wallet can afford the losses that service is enduring. I hope that Sony can come up with a plan to calm your nerves about Gamepass and we can get back to what’s good about PlayStation. BTW- holding Sony’s feet to the fire is good when deserved. Complaining about a company that does not have the money to compete in a service that would kill them is bad. IMO:)
@KayOL77 you’re right, M’soft doesn’t takes losses overall but Xbox certainly has and still does. PlayStation can’t afford to take those losses as it would kill Sony. Sony will always have to be more strategic with money. That will never be a problem for Xbox. The media treats these two Corps as equals but they are not even close.
PlayStation does not have daddy’s wallet to fall back on. Sony has earned their place in the industry and Xbox has purchased their way in. They are a major disruptor for sure but are locked on a business model I don’t care for. I’m already sick of the subscription model of set and forget. I waste countless dollars on platforms I forget that I’ve signed up for. This is exactly what M’Soft is hoping for too. I believe they are on two different tracks now playing a totally different game. It’s hilarious that these two corps get lumped together when Sony and Nintendo share a more similar model. For some reason, games media gives Nintendo a pass and ***** all over Sony. These companies can’t afford the losses that Xbox can. It would be nice to see the games media do a deep dive to analyze the realities of these companies and their differences of instead of constantly promoting Gamepass as this incredible deal. It might be some day but as of now, no thanks.
I guess it’s a YMMV situation. I found the process to be easy. I hit the migration button on my PRO and the file was ready when I turned on my PS5. No fuss for me but I guess there needs to be drama so we can all RABBLE, RABBLE, RABBLE! Lol
I don’t like how PlayStation is combining the files sizes of both PS4 & PS5 to inflate the actual file size. The PS5 download is actually on 78 gigs. They did the same thing with Call of Duty Cold War. That’s actually not 220 gigs as labeled. Why would they want to inflate the files size, when so little is available? And who would download both versions to your PS5? That only seems necessary if there’s a VR version.
This weekend, Push Square posted an article about about Cory Barlog not knowing what he was doing during God Of War 2 production and linked the making of the doc along with it. Fast forward a few days later and I’m almost done playing it on my PS5 thru PSNow. This experience has reminded of how incredibly epic that game was at the time and still is, gameplay wise. It does makes me want a modern remake tho.
This doesn’t feel very different from Sony launching Rocket League and Fall Guys to build a player base. I see a lot of what Xbox will be providing is live services type games for Gamepass. While I think it’s a great way to dip your toe in to see if you like it, it makes no sense in the long term play these time sink games on gamepass. How do you get the supposed value of gamepass, when your paying a monthly sub to play a live service game that you will eventually need to purchase when it is pulled from service? Seems like you’ll end up paying more to play the game.
