A showcase makes perfect sense as does a Bloodborne remaster but Sony doesn't do wise decisions anymore hence putting out a 400 million live service flop no one asked for amongst other things... Like remastering last of us 1 84 times

why is Sony not making an open world crime game that tries to compete with GTA. If done well it could have far more potential than hero shooters and Helldivers

Personally I think sony should revive socom, twisted metal and resistance each of which if done properly with a steady release of seasonal content and taken in the right direction (pve or PvP) could work well as live service

Ghost saved it if I'm honest but it's obvious and I hate to admit this I get why Sony is doing this. Gta6 is going to destroy any competition especially any hype as the marketing train ramps up for it. It will steal any thunder. Any buzz. That game is going to sell tens of millions of copies in its launch week let alone it's first year. Sony is better off waiting for gta6 to pass which they will sell a ton of ps5 and pro for alone.

@TomasVrboda ps5 is now approaching 4 years old...ps5 pro is Sony's opportunity to cash in on rich gamers believe it or not there are a few, who want a premium gaming experience Infront of the TV on the couch when it comes to gta6 which is probably going to struggle getting a higher resolution than 1080p at 60fps

Id love to see playstation give GTA some competition again with its own open world crime game like the getaway but more ambitious graphically and gameplay, story etc

So a awful showcase in 2023 that was wisely agreed to be poor, slowing sales of ps5 and poor software sales of concord and slumping market with many companies downsizing and Sony's answer is to do a state of play to build hype? Just not a fan of live service games or hero PvP shooter's there's so many hero shooters.... I feel Sony personally has neglected it's single player fan base too long and needs to make a real return to it hopefully they have many things coming

If its anything like the last summer games fest it will be one to forget a whole show of mediocrity and scraps from what's left after Microsoft and sony do their own shows and the big 3rd party company's know the real exposure is headling one of the big console shows (star wars ubisoft as an example premiered gameplay at xbox show)

This sort of thing tends to happen when you make a live service game no one asked for or what rocksteady wanted to make. Should have made what the masses wanted a new batman game or something single player related

Needs work. The pistol sounded like a toy. Animations need work and the graphics need alot of polishing. Others saying it looks downgraded since the first trailer I'm inclined to agree. Needs to be a survival horror not a action horror.

Talk about flogging a dead horse. How many dollars is sony, naughty dog and the big wigs trying to squeeze out of the last of us? As another has said naughty dog really is becoming rock star. Last of us part 1 ps3, last of us remastered ps4, last of us part 1 ps5 remake, last of us 2 ps4 followed by a 60fps patch that was very satisfying and more than adequate and now a last of us part 2 ps5 remaster. This is gta5 territory which had a 3 console life cycle also... seriously time to move on. There was a point where the name naughty dog on the game I believe would have sold itself alone based on their stellar reputation they should move on before they do more damage to said reputation. A Sci fi 3rd person adventure would be my call if in charge. The playstation community has been hurt by starfield not coming to the console this is the right play and the right time.

The May showcase still leaves a bad taste tho and sony needs to do right by its loyal community and keep on the hype train and building a strong awareness of its future road map and coming titles. There is nothing wrong with a cgi trailer that can be put together in days (just look at Knights of Republic remake/star wars eclipse)

Sony wants you all playing spiderman 2 come launch day. They dont want you discovering a new game and playing it for the next few months and thinking I'll wait for sp2 on sale or I'm not really bothered anymore with free games for a cheap price....they pick weak titles and make spiderman 2 even more appealing than it already is

A cartoon style stealth game where you play as gollum was never going to be what people wanted from the Lord of the rings world let's be honest. Majority of People want action/adventure open world rpg in unreal engine 5 why we haven't had something like this from lord of the rings since shadow of mordor is a mystery.

I wish capcom would do full triple aaa reboots or even remakes of dino crisis and onimusha. Resident evil 1 remake that's all I want. Not bothered about pragmata too weird for me and that dinosaur pve looks dull and ridiculous

I was bitterly BITTERLY dissapointed. Yes I saw some great games but these are third party games. I'm a fan of playstation and I'm a fan of the great work their studios have done many of who were absent and I couldn't understand how after 2 years they didn't even had a cgi trailer to say what they were working on or gameplay. As others point out insomniac has done miles morales, ratchet rift apart, spiderman 2 almost done and also wolverine and yet we've seen nothing from others who haven't done anything in a while!!

Hugely dissapointed and I'm ashamed to say that as I was beaming with happiness when snake eater got revealed. BUT this is a sony showcase! Not a third party promotion line up. This is a showcase that we haven't had for 600 days. 600. And the only first parry game with any gameplay was spiderman 2. Its a showcase not a direct. Multiple games. Back to back. And we know sony has got plenty of studios. Where was factions? Where is ghost of tsushima? Where is twisted metal? Where is sony santa Monica? Where is the heavy hitter ps vr titles that are supposed to get us on board? Shameful. Shameful stuff.

A mistake personally in my opinion but that’s because I prefer coop and single player this reeks of publisher meddling and exec interference

Sony doesn't do a very good job on communication I must say. No one even knew that God of war new game plus was available until it just randomly dropped. That deserved a little trailer in my opinion

Very little faith in sony to be honest we had nothing in 2022. NOTHING. Sony doesn't care much now for being kings of buzz and theatrics. Playstation sells on word of mouth alone. I'd love to be wrong but I don't think sony will do anything this year eithrr

Already sold on Ff16 it looks amazing and yes I will grab it 100%. I don't think this necessary personally. I tell you what tho...a showcase is absolutely NECESSARY and I mean a 1hr+ showcase revealing first party games all things playstation

Looks promising I can only say that as it wasn't a gameplay trailer but I've wanted a new mech game and these are the people to do it I believe. Loved the games too

How can anyone be content paying £70 for a 4 hour campaign which has some missions that last minutes. Most ridiculous missions also like vehicle jumping up a highway! It's a 6/10. Multiplayer is a buggy mess too

Where is the showcase though? They (sony/Jim ryan/ herman hulst) haven't done a showcase for more than a year YEAR now. Something is up and it STINKS.
