Is it possible to start the DLCs from within the base game? Id love to unlock that gate to the lake house, but I guess that isn’t the case.
I just started the final draft and Im looking forward to going through the journey again. But I can just skip to the DLCs if it doesn’t add much. Time for gaming is short
It looks great! I like the idea of ages, mixing and matching Civs, and how the city expansion looks. The ages will give the game even more possibilities and might help solve the age old problem of late game drag.
I better get my affairs in order, a new Civ is never good for anything else going on in my life.
I played a bit last night against the bots and didn't notice much newness.
It seems like the new updates will be rolled out gradually. The game I played (helldive, long one) had a couple of new glitches (glitched inside a hill, marker was stuck on screen). It could be a coincidence, but I doubt it.
I’d say this latest update will be good in a couple of weeks once the story progresses and a hotfix is made.
@get2sammyb to me it looks like the comment section here is overblowing the situation just as much.
Yes, you mentioned the country issue in a piffy way in the article. You mostly have a dig at other gamers behaviour. But the string of people in this comments section having a petty dig at something that is quite a legitimate problem for many isn't great behaviour either.
There are many countries where PSN accounts aren’t available; China, Russia, the Philippines, baltic countries, african countries. So people from those countries and their friends would have good reason to be annoyed. They’ve been locked out or face getting banned for falsifying details.
So, to me it seems that there is at least as much boorish outrage in this blog as there is from “PC gamers”.
A lot of it will be because of the good price point too. It’s less than half the price of a new AAA game which makes it very easy to buy after a little nudge from friends.
Alan Wake 2 for me, and Im not typically in to horror. Such an outstanding, creative work that people will be playing and referencing long after Spider-man 2 is forgotten (which wont be far away).
Playstation Plus Extra is still a really good deal for someone like me. I rarely care about getting games day one so it keeps me quite occupied gaming-wise year round. And the price increase wont hit for a long time, I just extended my sub for a year and got a 30% discount. It cost 520dkk which is the same as buying one AAA game.
Im pretty sure the god of war rights holders will have to send the makers and xbox store a cease and desist. If they don't that could have problems down the line with any future infringements.
I played the demo around launch time. The concept was cool and Im a fan of the art direction, but I found the demo boring in the end and didn't opt in for the whole game. Itd need a tight PS5 upgrade for mw to give it a whirl now.
I’m playing the trial (PS5). The character design was pretty cool. Visuals seem decent. But the movement seems off to me, that ramp up in motion speed and awkward climbing and vaulting has gotta make for some bad combat (when I get to that, only just met Jackie).
Finished this last night. I found it a technically impressive game with a very average story. Way too much exposition via dialogue and reliance on characters making bad decisions to push the story forward.
I’ll give it a couple of weeks. The recent “teething issues” of high-profile games from a range of studios has put me off preorders completely.
My current strategy: resist temptation for as long as possible (a couple of days to a few weeks for this one), and eventually grab it from a shop during the commute home (normally after a couple of Friday work beers).

Meh, it looks flash and dull at the same time.

Remedy deserves success with their games. Such good work by them.

It sounds good and that scares me.

@AlekseyVolkov I logged on to write the exact same thing.
Looks incredibly boring.

Re: Helldivers 2 PSN Requirement Backtracked on PC After Brutal Review Bombing Campaign
Does over a hundred countries really represent “a handful of gamers” to this blog?

Re: GTA Publisher Laying Off 5% of Workforce and Cancelling 'Several' Games
this will be mostly because of the acquisition and needing to make the combined organisation more efficient than the two parts.

Are we sure at least some of these people didn’t also work on 1.0? Seems like a non-story. Time and effort saved the game.

Re: Best FPS Games on PS5
It really is a weak genre on Playstation.
My two cents: I enjoyed Cyberpunk waaay more than far cry 6 and deathloop. Is that not a FPS?

What @Col_McCafferty said but gave it a break for Returnal. Went back, finished, soon starting Horizon. Great game.

Just glad I skipped this one. Waiting a few months (or longer) to buy a game recently is really proving to be a good strategy.
No spoilers!
