Re: PS4 Firmware Update 4.06 Improves the Quality of Your Console

nlovett218

Nothing new in this update, just security updates they don't want people knowing about. They spend more time on the security of their own PS4 than they do actual feature updates.

SONY patched the Chaitin tech jailbreak method in this patch.

P.S. I'm not a hacker or anything like that, I just like to know what exactly I'm downloading. Sony's patch notes are extremely secretive.

Re: EA Is Making an Absolute Killing from Microtransactions

nlovett218

I'm not even sure who's the greediest company anymore, EA or Activision? Also didn't EA say they weren't trying to "nickel and dime" us with microtransactions, yet they're stilling including microtransactions in most of their games. PvZ GW2 now has in-game currency that you can obtain with real money. SW: Battlefront doesn't have microtransactions mainly because they rushed the game. Battlefield will always have microtransactions. I'm pretty sure all their Sports games have microtransactions too. So tell me EA, are you just giving us a bunch of horse**** thinking we will feel better buying your DLCs? I'm starting to think that's their plan. Lie even more to their customers.

Re: PSN Down For Maintenance Early Next Month

@themcnoisy @RustyBullet I hate to bring this back up, but I agree with RustyBullet. A DDoS attack is an attack where one or more users send fake traffic (usually more than 1 GB/s) to a server in hopes of bringing it to it's knees. There really is no way of preventing or detecting this kind of attack, until it's already happening. Imagine all the cars on a freeway have very dark tinted windows. Try to find the cars that have more than one passenger. It's hard to do that. (Sorry, bad analogy, but it's the only one I could think of). This is basically what it's like for SONY and Microsoft. The article you posted was only for fighting against the attack once it had already happened. I hope this clears it up for you I'm not trying to start any arguments or anything I'm just giving you some quick info for next time. We should really hold the individuals accountable for their actions, not the company.

Re: The Rainbow Six: Siege Open Beta Has Breached PS4

I know people are hating on this game, but it's one of my most anticipated games this year, and even if it has bugs on launch, what game doesn't? I absolutely love this game, and I really wish people would appreciate the positive things about this game!

Re: Soapbox: Why the Industry Is Getting Greedy (And How to Stop It)

nlovett218

You are so right. I've always wanted to do something about the greedy publishers. My "idea" was to create a new organization that protects the consumer from the publisher's greed. I was thinking of naming it Video Game Entertainment Consumer Protection or something like that. Anyways, the main purpose of this organization would be to protect the consumer. This organization will govern how video games are released, and must follow these basic principles.

-Release dates are thrown out. The developer must work until the game is finished/polished. Publisher's may not decide release dates anymore.
-All Multiplayer-enabled games must have a beta test, for server stability.
-DLC must not be announced or sold before the game is finished.
-Indie games or games not being sold for money do not have to follow these principles.
-If any DLC content is being sold, it must not be more than $10, and can release no more than 4 DLC packs.
-Any game with a value of $60, may not include microtransactions.

  • (SONY) Refunds should be given on pre-orders, if the consumer requests it, not just once.
  • (MICROSOFT) Xbox Live membership prices will be slashed in half.

This was just an idea of mine. Some principles seem "outrageous" but what are we gonna do if the developers/publishers do not listen?
