Really pleased about Stray. I had it a while back when it was on Extra and they took it off again before I had a chance to finish it. Will try for the Platinum this time as I wasn't that far away!
If I hadn't played Lies of P before, I'd be happy with this month just for that as it's a fantastic game. As it stands, I'm not interested in the other games so not the best month for me personally.
Very well deserved. I still think Sackboy - A Big Adventure should get far more plaudits than it does though. Easily my favourite PS5 platformer after Astrobot.
I'll be finishing Lies of P this weekend. Just about to start the final Simon Manus battle and then tie up some loose ends to get the few remaining trophies.
After that, I'll probably dip back into Tomb Raider Remastered. I finished TR1 a while back, so I'm looking forward to playing TR2 which was always my favourite one on the PS1.
Not really interested in any of the games this month.
I've actually come to the conclusion that Extra's just not worth the money for me. Most of the games I want to play aren't on there so I end up buying them, and that doesn't leave me enough time to play the ones in my Extra library.
I'm switching to Essential when my subscription runs out in a couple of months.
Tomb Raider Remastered for me - pure nostalgia overload! I loved the originals and this updated version is brilliant.
It's great being able to instantly switch between the original and updated graphics modes so you can see what a great job they've done updating the visuals.
I'm playing with modern controls. They're not perfect (you can only jump back with your weapons drawn for example) but once you get the hang of it, it's not a problem.
@LionVega I'm sure the original had inverted Y axis, or at least the option to set it. I can't play any other way, so will give this version a miss if you can't invert aim.
I've got several of these in my library already, but I'm sure I didn't buy them. I'm guessing they must have been free on PS Plus at some point (Days Gone, Hot Wheels Unleashed etc)?
The guy is a total legend. I've been to one of the Distant Worlds concerts and it was an incredible experience.
My favourite soundtracks are probably 8 and 9. There's a real mixture of powerful, emotional, hard hitting songs and thoughtful ambient moments in those games. They're amazing soundtracks.
@invictus4000
I agree. Saying she missed the steel sky has far greater meaning. It's almost like people suffering from Stockholm Syndrome where you grow to love the thing that's imprisoned you. The people of the slums have been living under oppression for so long, freedom and the unknown (represented by the open sky) is frightening.
"This sky... I don't like it", just makes it sound like Aerith thinks it might rain or something!
The original is far darker and much more ominous.
Edit: But then, maybe that's the reason they changed it...
I'm not sure why the article says it's "confusing" about what he said. He's clearly not making a separate game and a separate movie - he clarifies that himself. He's making a game. All his games have always been virtually movies with the hours and hours of cutscenes. With today's graphics though, I'm sure this will his closest to a live action film yet.
@somnambulance It's nothing to do with Sony. It started off as a tongue in cheek game video and was so popular on YouTube that the developer created a full blown game of it. It's actually really awesome!
On the UK site it also lists the 3 individual games separately for £15.99 each. You have to click within the Master Collection bundle to see the individual games, but they're definitely there.
I still buy physical games but most games I play are digital purely because of all the games on Playstation Plus Extra.
If it wasn't for that, I've buy even more physical games as you can trade them in at places like CEX and recoup some of the outlay - something you obviously can't do with digital games.
Rockstar will want to use the PS5 to showcase GTA6's graphics and performance and they won't want it held back by having to make it playable on old architecture.
Also, they'll be looking to the future - they'll be expanding GTA6 for the next 10 years or more on PS5, by which time the PS4 will be ancient history.
I think Extra has been a great success - I've found it great value. I think Sony need to work on making Premium more attractive. There's absolutely nothing there that would make me want to upgrade. If they can improve their Classics library, then I might think about it. More legendary PS1 and PS2 games. Actually, just stick the Timesplitters trilogy on there and I'm sold!

Re: Resident Evil 0 PS5 Remake Rumours Persist, Could Still Be Years Away
I liked RE 0 but I'm really not bothered about a remake of it. You don't have to remake everything.
Re: PS5 Soulslike Code Vein 2 Couldn't Be More Anime If It Tried
I really liked the first one, so I'm looking forward to this. Might try playing it in Japanese with subtitles this time though! Lol
Re: Cute Co-Op Game Hela Puts Mice on PS5 in 2026
Reminds me of Moss on PSVR (or at least the characters do)!

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for August 2025?
@gipsojo As others have said, it's the whole point of the Pinocchio story on which it's based.
Saying that, you can play it both ways - telling the truth each time or lying. You just get slightly different story paths and different endings.
Re: PS Plus Members Are Upgrading to Higher Tiers on PS5, PS4
I downgraded from Extra to Essential a few months back as I found I just didn't have time to play the games in my library so it wasn't worth it.
I prefer to buy the games I really want to play, when I want to play them.
Re: PS5's Astro Bot Now the Most Decorated Platformer Ever with Over 100 GOTY Awards
Very well deserved.
I still think Sackboy - A Big Adventure should get far more plaudits than it does though. Easily my favourite PS5 platformer after Astrobot.
Re: Best PS1 Games
I'm surprised and more than a little disappointed that Vagrant Story wasn't listed.
Definitely one of the best ever PS1 games IMHO.
Re: Sony Execs Seem to Think the Company Doesn't Have Enough Original IP
@McTwist
To be fair, Sackboy - A Big Adventure is an absolutely fantastic game.

Re: Legendary Phantom Thief Arsene Lupin Plots Stylish Heist on PS5, PS4
I remember playing Lock n Chase on the Intellivision back in the day (a very good Pac Man clone).
The thief in that game was called Lupin too - clearly named after the same Arsene Lupin!

Re: New PS2 Emulator Appears to Be Imminent on PS5, PS4
Timesplitters 2 and Future Perfect
That is all.

Re: Aspyr Issues Apology for Atrocious Star Wars: Battlefront Classic PS5, PS4 Launch
@Deadlyblack I've still got the original but haven't played it for years.
I'll have another look at it in that case!

Re: Sony Pulling the Plug on Bloodborne Kart, Must Rebrand
@somnambulance
They also did a PS1 Bloodborne Demake first - if you do a search on YouTube, you'll be able to see all the videos.

@GKT Me neither! 🙂

Thanks - I would never have spotted that!
Re: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection PS5, PS4 Getting Screen Setting Features Update in January
@GKT Are you sure you're not looking at the Snake Eater remake? That's been announced on PS Store but it's not on sale yet.
None of the other original games are on there.
Re: PS Studios Bigwig Pops Up at Kojima Productions Ahead of Rumoured Death Stranding 2 Re-Reveal
I loved the first Death Stranding on PS4 but just didn't have the energy to do it all over again on PS5 with the Director's Cut!
Looking forward to the sequel though.
Re: Bloober Team Wants You to Pester Konami for Silent Hill 2 PS5 Updates
I'm not sure Bloober Team's comment means they aren't impressed with Konami.
They're just replying to a question about who will be providing news on the game and confirming it's "definitely" Konami.
Nothing more than that.
Re: Physical Games Represented Just 4% of Sales for PlayStation Last Quarter

Re: Are There More Silent Hill Remakes Coming to PS5?
Definitely sounds like they meant Silent Hill remakes plural, as well as new entries.
The more Silent Hill games available to play, the better as far as I'm concerned. I'd love to see 1 and 3 remade, as well as Origins, The Room etc.
It's a series I really miss.
Re: PS Stars Guide: All Campaigns and Solutions (November 2023)
@trev666
In the UK, 1250 points gives you £5 wallet funds, so 1 point equates to 0.4p.
50 points is therefore 20p basically.
Re: Fan-Made Bloodborne Kart Hits the Foul Streets of Yharnam in January
I saw this a while back and thought it was sheer genius! Fantastic news that it's actually being released!
Re: Metal Gear Solid 4, 5, Peace Walker Ports are Almost Certainly Planned, Says New Evidence
For completion, it would be good to see Portable Ops and the Acid games included so I'd expect to see them in the next collection.
