I don't get how people think the Xbox market isn't big enough for Helldiver's 2. When Sea of Thieves has been on the go since 2018. Other GaaS games do well also on the platform.
@Flaming_Kaiser I wouldn't just blame subscription services for poor sales. There is many reasons. AAA gaming is getting stagnant in many genres. I have had more fun & feel I get better value playing indies lately. Another is the cost. £70 is a big no to some. I'll pay it but even Im getting to the point that I have to pick wisely which games I buy as It couldn't afford every game I would like.
Nadella statement goes live on the release of Call of Duty Black OPs 6 on multiple platforms & his statement mentions cloud gaming which next month will allow paid games from the Xbox store to be playable on any device with a screen, WiFi, Bluetooth & a web browser. They also have a mobile store releasing next month on Android/IOS. So the rumor that Microsoft learned from Indiana Jones announcement could still be true. But it's Microsoft. Anything is possible.

Microsoft bought Bethesda to stop Sony bagging Starfield & other titles as timed exclusives after Deathloop & Ghostwire Tokyo. As for ABK that was for mobile & PC market gains. Sony did the same when Microsoft was competitive with the Xbox 360 running into the Xbox One era. They bought up studios as that's all they could afford I guess. Like I said before if Sony could afford to buy more they would. Microsoft playing dirty is no different than Sony back in the early PlayStation days. Peter Moore said when he was head of Sega that Sony would revoke stock if PlayStation didn't get more floor space than the competition. So there all as bad as each other. @AdamNovice I don't understand either why people think that PlayStation can't be successful at both single player & multiplayer games. A wide variety of games helps make PlayStation & it's hardware a success in the future. People expected Helldiver's 2 to fail also but was a hit. I don't get PlayStation fanboys!!!!. They hate on PlayStation multiplatform strategy. But Sony explains it needs the money from multiplayer to make great single player titles but fans complain & want them to fail. This could drive Sony into adopting a similar strategy as Microsoft. Big games like Spiderman 3 & Wolverine could become fully 3rd party just to claw back the money they've lost from the disaster I call the Jim Ryan era.
@Flaming_Kaiser I like to buy games myself as well. Games Pass like PlayStation Plus is a useful tool I use to try games I usually wouldn't buy & Microsoft 1st party titles. I also use the money I save to buy other 3rd party games. But there are some games I wouldn't touch in a subscription service like RPGs. Yes I agree that a part of the Xbox fanbase just rely on Games Pass. But think Sony has the same problem with Playstation Plus & to a certain degree a large casual audience that only buys COD & EA Soccer every year.

My point is that when Sony pulled the same trick on Microsoft. They responded. Like Sony did before them. So they bought Bethesda & ABK.

Xbox one launch killed Xbox's chance to compete against the PS4, little to no 1st party games & poorer 3rd party support to the competition did it. I bet PlayStation would fair better than Xbox going day & date with PC. @HonestHick Microsoft has said before the average Games Pass user buys DLC, Season Passes & other add ons for games running on the service. I myself have & I buy a ton of games due to Games Pass savings. So far purchased 6 games on Xbox this year. To 3 games on my PS5.
The more choice the better for the consumer in the long run. Specially in the challenging economic times.

The sales numbers is just an excuse. If they wanted more sales then you would see just about every 3rd party game on the Nintendo Switch & then the Series S wouldn't be a problem. But we don't. This is a problem the games industry created specially western developers. Its only gonna get worse as soon there will be a PS5 Pro & the rumours of PlayStation & Xbox handheld in the future.
I Bet half the tech doesn't get used fully due to the little amount of users that will buy it just like the Series X. Probably more a test bed for the PS6.
@CrackmanNL look at Monster Hunter World. It was a PlayStation exclusive in Asia but released on PC & Xbox everywhere else & sold 25 million. Final Fantasy 15 being on PC & Xbox also helped it hit 10 million.

Xbox has Crisis Core reunion. It just got Final Fantasy 14 after 10 years. Square were adamant that Rebirth could be played as a standalone title so don't see why it wouldn't release for that reason. Under Squares new CEO it's more likely to release on Xbox.

The more choice the better for the consumer in the long run. Specially in the challenging economic times.

Makes sense. These are probably the same devs & publishers that claimed the Series S is holding back gaming. So of course they'll no be happy when PlayStation brings out a Pro model to kill development time & cash.

The sales numbers is just an excuse. If they wanted more sales then you would see just about every 3rd party game on the Nintendo Switch & then the Series S wouldn't be a problem. But we don't.
This is a problem the games industry created specially western developers.
Its only gonna get worse as soon there will be a PS5 Pro & the rumours of PlayStation & Xbox handheld in the future.

I Bet half the tech doesn't get used fully due to the little amount of users that will buy it just like the Series X. Probably more a test bed for the PS6.

@naruball I mentioned Monster Hunter World as one of my first examples. As it was a PlayStation exclusive in Asia but multiplatform everywhere else 👍

@CrackmanNL look at Monster Hunter World. It was a PlayStation exclusive in Asia but released on PC & Xbox everywhere else & sold 25 million. Final Fantasy 15 being on PC & Xbox also helped it hit 10 million.

@MrMagic you forget how Square Enix works though. Xbox used to miss several games in a series before they'd get one. Who would support that model of thinking? As I know you'll spew the whole Xbox don't buy JRPGs crap. Again who would or can support a genre if it gets little to no support on Xbox. Where is PlayStation's version of Octopath Traveler? You can buy part 2. Steam just got Dragon Quest Builders years after Builders 2 released. Final Fantasy 14 just hit Xbox after 10 years. It's Square Enix anything is possible.

@TheCollector316 what damaging moves. Under Microsoft you'll soon get to play the best of both PlayStation & Xbox on your favourite box. If you buy all 4 to be released titles. Didn't realise that was a bad thing at least for PlayStation fans.
Xbox has Crisis Core reunion. It just got Final Fantasy 14 after 10 years. Square were adamant that Rebirth could be played as a standalone title so don't see why it wouldn't release for that reason. Under Squares new CEO it's more likely to release on Xbox.

@get2sammyb Microsoft has said many times that the average Games Pass user tends to spend more money on other software within the eco system than those that don't have Games Pass.

You should be shouting from the roof tops as Sony is struggling to release games as it is 🤔. So another possible two cancellations ain't gonna solve the problem. But if your gonna give them a free pass don't complain when Sony's first party is a barren as Xbox's was years ago.

@TheCollector316 your logic is flawed. Sony financed there own projects with the money made from COD, Fifa, GTA & other sales from the PlayStation store. Microsoft will be doing the same as well. Plus money from Games Pass subs, Steam sales & now the Activision Blizzards deal has cleared mobile micro transactions from King's games.

@BaldBelper78 I could see Games Pass on PS5 being like EA Access. But Games Pass on Xbox stays the same. I guess we will get a better answer later today.
