@OldGamer999 theyre gamepass, gamepass, gamepass now. Subscriptions over consoles sadly. Its insane how few have been shifted in comparison to sony's machine.

The only worry now is if Sony go down the arrogance path we've seen before. Healthy competition benefits us all.

Gamepass is where MS's focus lies this Gen. They obviously want to sell their console, and it is a fantastic machine, but its becoming more and more about gamepass. I have no doubt they would have the service on every console if they could.

Acquiring big publishers just gives more weight to their sales pitch when the time inevitably comes to approach Sony and the others.

On the flips side, as subscriptions plateau and box sales fall, it may give more incentive to launch games on other platforms over time. At the end of the day, despite very deep pockets, we all know MS loves money. They will pull in more of it from a dominant PS market buying games on top of their own eco system.

Who knows though i suppose. A healthy competitor breeds an environment were inovation thrives, and thats good for us as gamers.

I have to drive to plymouth (in about half an hour) for my brother in laws 30th birthday, so my Alan Wake 2 progress is going to take a hit this weekend. Gonna take the switch and dip in and out of a few games on there in the hotel.

@ShogunRok especially when you take into account Alan Wake 2 winning an award when it released after spidey. You would have thought nomination windows would be the same across the board.

Im beginning to think that big Jims retirement may have been tied to his decision to push live games. Theres a lot of smoke around regarding ps studios being unhappy about being told they need to toe the line and, usually, theres no smoke without fire.

@Flaming_Kaiser i imagine one of the fallbouts of the ABK deal will be the xbox consoles will become the lead machine for future games. Which i imagine will make less use of the kraken compression than they do now.

@DennisReynolds technically they can make install sizes smaller as you dont need to repeat assets so the hdd can access them quicker. For example, a tree. You only need to store one version of that tree on the ssd and it can be pulled when needed in the game. Where as a hdd will need multiple instances of that tree to ensure its always at hand when needed.

But yeah, no way we would be seeing half sizes as over gens, that tree takes up more space as the quality goes up.

Not on mine it wont.

And the prices in these 'sales' are why we should all hope physical versions stick around.

Insomniac are one of very few developers that have earned a pre order from me. Im off work on the 20th due to a large drinking session on the 19th so by the time amazon turn up with it i should be ready to go.

system -> system software -> system software update and settings -> system update (beta).

That will set the install off and you will be good to go.

@TheArt should be free if you already own it digitally, £15 if you dont. Game is two gens old and will look, control and play like a two gen old game.

Rockstar have taken a massive u turn up their own backsides these last few years. All while riding a wave of MT's and online paywalls.

Needs a sale price on that for me to bite. A BIG sale price at that.

I would have loved a psvr2 update, especially as its now hitting plus. Such a missed opportunity but, at the end of it all, they need to make money off it to sustain it. They havent so cant and its hard to hold that against them.

@TheDudeElDuderino wouldnt really call PSVR2 a drag to start and be playing. Literally plug one wire and youre off. Now if it had more games, that would be the treat.

Saying a game thats been remade multiple times is on sale for 51 quid is just rubbish to be honest.
