Just finished up the 5th Palace in Persona 5 Royal, the story is really starting to get juicy. Can't wait to see where it all ends up. I'm super excited to get to strikers.

Nioh 2 is still fun as always, the combat just keeps getting better and better. Progression just evolves really well.

@frankmcma Dude you absolutely have to try that Fuser demo, I'm completely sold on it. I feel like it could be worth the full $60 but I got my hands full with a lot of games rn, so I'm gonna pick it up during holiday season when it's $20-$30. Or maybe it'll be a Playstation Plus game!!

Re: Talking Point: Did Sony's State of Play Livestream Meet Your Expectations?

The gaming community is incredibly ungrateful, it's only February and you guys are expecting every first party studio to show up and say a new AAA game is coming out tomorrow. Do any of you realize how arduous game development already is? And top that with the fact that development teams are still adjusting to covid?

Your first expectation check should've come when we all learned the event was 30 min, then and there it should've been realized no major announcements were going to be made. All the announcements we all wanna hear about will come late spring/early summer.

@Mgene15 I know I wasn't asked but you should absolutely play it. They did a good job for newcomers and veterans of the series alike. You'd do yourself a solid by watching a video or two summing up the trilogy and watching the boss fights in 3 (or just play em if that's an option).

I say watching the boss fights in 3 because they were the best set pieces in the series and there's only a handful of moments in 2018 that display them. 2018 is great because it focused on narrative never before seen in the series.

Lemme put it this way, a good friend of mine never player any GoW game. First entry was 2018, now one of his favorites of all time.

Currently I'm still playing Persona 5 Royal and Nioh 2 Remastered.

I've played Dark Souls 3, Bloodbourne, and Sekiro and I can confidently say (in my personal opinion) that Nioh is better than them all combat wise. I think each Fromsoft game has better story, but Nioh's gameplay is far more engaging.

After I complete these I'm gonna get a PS Now subscription and play Metal Gear Solid 2-4 super excited since these will be my first playthroughs. Can't wait till May for Returnal, RE:Village, ME: Legendary Edition!

@Daleaf Speaking from experience Godfall is mediocre man, if you don't mind a shallow story and repetitive mission structure then check it out. The combat is actually decent sometimes but it wasn't enough to keep me captivated. Not to mention that all the different "suits" they have really aren't that different. Just look up Skillup's review. If you want a good coop game with loot, just go play Warhammer Vermintide 2, it's genuinely good.

@Lord_Malice Yo man I'm super excited for you each of those games are 10/10 material. I finished TLOU2 close to release date and that game is a technical masterful emotional rollercoaster. I very recently completed HZD about 2 weeks ago and Aloy's journey is breathtaking. I'm currently 50 hours into my Persona 5 royal playthrough and this game has already cracked my top 5 of all time. Happy gaming!

Re: Horizon Forbidden West on PS5, PS4 Is 'More of the Things People Loved About Zero Dawn'

I had a couple times where I started HZD and put it down, where recently I just finished the base game and Frozen Wilds on PS5. After finishing it I can understand why so many people rave about it to this day, and while it didn't crack my top 10 favorites I can confidently say I adore this game.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one with this impression but HZD really reminded me of my first time playing Skyrim, specifically with the exploration/discovering new enemies and dialogue with NPCs. Personally I think HZD has some of the best combat in the open world genre and perfected the Ubisoft formula, until Ghosts came out.

Improvements I'd like to see, Traversal: With a game where there's so much verticality I was disappointed to see how little options there were to optimize Traversal. There needs to be more ways to climb up and ways to get down, period. What do you guys think is Aloy's ropecaster could make ziplines? Grappling hooks are overused in games and are always welcome, but in recent games Pathfinder is the only one I can think of who makes ziplines. I think Aloy creating ziplines makes sense in her world and doesn't break the game.

Storytelling/World building: Please for the love of God don't depend on having 200 text datapoints, because in my 50 hours of play I didn't care to read even one, although I did listen to the voice recordings and dialogue with NPCs was always A1.

Combat: With a game where you have to strategize enemy weaknesses, please make it an ability to swap weapons from the weapon wheel like RDR2 so I don't have to pause mid combat to switch to a different bow.

I'm sure I'm overlooking other flaws but these were the ones that stuck out to me, what do you think fellow gamers?

@Reyren I'm personally just getting started with Ori, I wanted to jump straight into the sequel,
but after playing the demo I decided I should show the first one due diligence. So far it's a great platformer that gives me some of those old Rayman vibes. I highly suggest Akane, there's no way you find a better game for the ultra low price of $5

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 362

The beginning of this year is pretty slow for new releases right? So I'm using this time to tackle my backlog, on the list is: Frozen Wilds DLC for Horizon, Persona 5 Royal, DBZ Kakarot, Demon's Souls, Doom Eternal, Jedi Fallen Order, Little Nightmares, with some matches of Apex in between when I get a little singleplayer burnout. Also once Ragnarok has a release date replaying GOW at a glorious 4k/60😍.

Trying to knock all these out before May because that's when it seems this year kicks off for gaming, with all of these out of the way I can fully focus on Returnal, RE:Village, and Mass Effect Legendary edition.

Also I've been looking for some more PS5 friends, add me at TraCuz-, just say you're from push square. Happy gaming!
