Re: Best Simulation Games on PS5

Stezimov

I have played both PowerWash Simulator (PWS) and Lawnmower Simulator (LMS) to the credits. I can say they compare quite well with each sim having their own strengths. Both are excellent at the mindless, zen-like experience of chillin whilst not thinkin.

Lawnmowing delivers the same satisfying experience as powerwashing in transforming your work-screen however the sim is somewhat repetitious compared to PowerWash. It also has less DLC though driving is fun compared to falling off stuff all the time.

Of note is that I invariably had to nap on the couch after PWS sessions, something I never did with LMS. So bonus news for insomniacs who can play in bed (Portal ^_^)

Re: Poll: Can a Game's Brutal Difficulty Put You Off Playing It?

Stezimov

You too will, eventually, grow old and curse slow responses, and begin to reject games because you just can’t be f***** learning them let alone the difficulty is way too hard. Yeah, yeah not you.

I cut my teeth on WoW when it was one step beyond a DOS game and I have owned every console Sony has made though, at 66, I think I will make the upcoming PS5 Pro my last, and concentrate on my game ‘pile of shame’ before I kark it, controller firmly in hand.

Attention game designers!! Out of respect for a life-time of support and too much cash tbh, you owe me a “Seniors Difficulty Level”, only unlockable to the aged, and the disabled, that allows us to explore and taste the joys of your artistic expression, because, you see, we cannot ‘GET GUD!’ ever again. QQ

Please?

Re: New PS Portal Firmware Update Adds Better Wi-Fi Features and More

Stezimov

Lovely hardware but software is lacking.

I had hoped that using the Portal would be as easy as using the controller in that I could just pick it up, press the PS button, and my PS5 and Sony TV would quickly fire up. Unfortunately this was not so. More often than not, my usual experience is waiting whilst the Portal searches for, then fails to find my PS5 (in Rest mode) whereas my controller never fails. Why is that I wonder?

Re: Sony Has Now Shipped a Staggering 40 Million PS4 Consoles

Stezimov

Im so pissed at Sony right now. I've been with them from day one; my kids grew up with the PS1 then 2. We bought a couple of 3s when they wanted their own in their rooms and were first adapters with two PS4s. My sons' PS4 died after a year, refusing to boot while mine is plagued with the eject disc malfunction, on which refuted fixes are only temporary. Made in China crap.

Lessons learned, don't buy the first version of any new console, waiting instead for the subsequent bug-free unit, and that Sony is just like any other for profit organisation, in that loyalty isnt a two-way street otherwise these units with design faults would, and should, have been recalled or replaced.

Re: PlayStation's Winning the Digital Games Revenue War

Stezimov

Was a hard copy fan until I got into my iPad. Just this past fortnight I have splurged on digital picking up HD copies of all my PS2 favourites that I had resisted buying because of price. With the Vita birthday sale plus crossbuy to PS3 and my PS+ membership I picked up God of War 1 & 2, Ratchet & Clank 1, 2 & 3, Jak & Daxter 1, 2 & 3, Okami, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and The Sly Trilogy which averaged out to between $6-$7 AU per game. Brings the Store into line with Steam pricing for older games.

Both Sony and Nintendo really need to understand the true value and size of their old legacy classics and aggressively pursue making them available in new remastered formats at competitive prices. Wtb Timespliitters 2 and Klonoa 2 remastered. Their Storefronts also have desperate need of streamlining accessabiliy and backgrounding their incessant demands to update before use.

Realistically hard-copy games haven't existed since the PS2 retired. Gone are the days when buying a game on disc allowed you to play immediately you were home and offline. Your $80 plastic disc and case (booklets are no more) are nothing more than a digital password allowing you to download the true game before you can play anyway. Therefore all games are actually digital downloads whether you like to stroke the case or not. Think about it.
