Re: PS5 Fans Divided Over Helldivers 2 on Xbox Pivot

Somapix

I don't understand at all why anyone cares about the idea of 'diluting the brand'. It's all just console-war stupidity and frankly articles like this just encourage it.

Playing video games is fun. Selling more of them means developers can make more and we can have more fun. Nothing else matters.

Anyone who attaches any part of their personality to being aligned to a particular 'brand' rather than just having a hobby is taking it all far too seriously.

Re: Big New PS5, PC Shooter Concord Has an Uphill Battle Ahead of It

The main problem I had with it was that it just didn't offer anything new. I'm sure it will play just fine and look just fine, but I felt like I've played similar games already a bunch of times and this one didn't do anything to stand out in an already crowded field. The one thing they have is the 'cinematic vignettes every week' – but I found the characters in the cinematic trailer to be fairly cliched and annoying and again didn't offer anything I hadn't seen before (a bunch of loveable misfits up to no good in space… where have I heard that one before?).

Re: Rumour: Assassin's Creed Red Is Starting to Sound a Lot Like Valhalla

@REALAIS sure I didn't just mainline the main story (because why buy a big open world game and just do that?) and I dipped into a few side missions and other activities to level up my character and explore the map a bit, but I am far from a completionist and didn't come close to 100%. I'd say I played it at the regular pace it is intended to be played at, and it took me around 90 hours to get to the end of it. The core narrative about you and your brother being constantly interrupted by having to go to another region and do 2-4 hours of samey missions there with characters I wasn't interested in totally killed the pacing of the main story too. I didn't hate the game at all, but it was definitely too long and padded out in my opinion.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of PSVR2, One Year Later?

Somapix

I like mine a lot and still use it fairly frequently (even if just for a quick burst of Beat Saber as a little workout at home), but I definitely feel disappointed by the lack of first party support. As someone else mentioned above, even some ports or PS5 upgrades for older titles like Wipeout or Blood and Truth would have been welcome, but to release literally one first party tile in the entire first year with no more currently announced is egregious. Fingers crossed for a new Astrobot announcement sometime this year, ideally with a fairly quick release window.

Re: Talking Point: What Can We Expect in the Next State of Play Show?

Somapix

I'm definitely managed my expectations, especially as a PSVR2 owner. I'm imagine we'll get an update on a couple of previously announced titles like Journey to Foundation and maybe Behemoth. Will be fun to get a new look at Stellar Blade after a while though, interested in seeing how that one turns out as the previous trailers looked like fun.

Re: Rumour: Marvel's Wolverine PS5 Release Date Reportedly 2025, Not Next Year

Somapix

Sounds like pure speculation to me. A Wolverine game is going to be darker than a Spider-man game? Well, obviously yes. Set in Madripoor? Madripoor appears on a poster in the bar in the teaser announcement and is referenced in SM2, so that seems like a safe bet. 2025 release? Seems like an educated guess based on the pipeline at Insomniac. Not sure this 'leaker' knows anything at all.

Re: It's Probably Too Late for You to Play These 16 PS Plus Games

Somapix

These titles have all been on the 'leaving soon' list on PS Plus for about a month now, so this article is definitely a little late to spread the word. I tend to scroll down to the bottom of the Games Catalog tab every time new games are added to see what is going to be leaving.

Re: A Huge, Free Update for C-Smash VRS Has Arrived on PSVR2

@EfYI you can technically play it seated I believe. All character movement and strafing is done with the sticks. You'll need to flail your arms about quite a lot though. I can vouch from personal experience that it definitely doesn't require the 2m x 2m space needed for roomscale, I have about a 1.5 x 1m space to play in and it works fine, although I do it standing and naturally move side to side a little.
