Sony should say something about this as I want to know if there's going to be a disc drive to play all of my PS4 and PS5 games on PS6.

I really don't like what Sony has done but video games is my main hobby, I'm probably going to have to go all digital next generation or just move on and stay with all my current games and consoles.

Unfortunately, even though I love physical games; I and the rest that like them are in the minority especially when very old COD ports sell this much.

I've always liked COD though and idc what people have to say or think on the internet, I personally didn't bother with these ports since I already have the games and there were no improvements, I have more of an attatchment to Modern Warfare over Black Ops since that was my first COD game, I'd like a remake or remaster of the old Modern Warfare trilogy on PS5 and the good thing is I'm sure it's on the way after how successful these ports are at least for me anyway.

I also have to remind myself that these sites and social media is a very very small portion of the gaming population. MW4 is at the top two or three of pre-orders behind GTA 6 even though it doesn't come out for another three months and no one is talking about it.

I would still take this over a purely digital copy with no option to sell, trade, lend and give away.

It's true, I do still want to own the products I buy and less options is bad overall; except for Sony under capitalism.

I'm looking at all of my PS4 and PS5 games on my shelf and it's sad that I can't buy a single game physically 18 months from now.

They also haven't said anything about backwards compatibility for physical disc owners like an optional drive or the disc to digital program that Microsoft is doing, I'm guessing there won't be anything. There's very little reason for me to buy a £1000+ PS6 when none of library is going to carry forward and there's going to be very little for me.

I did say that these ports were pointless since there were no improvements, I do understand that some people may want to play these on PS5 but I thought that these ports were going to have new servers to stop any cheating/hacking, it seems to still be happening; I will stick with the PS3 versions, I have no reason to be buying these cash grab ports.

I will be playing Granblue Fantasy Relink Endless Ragnarok dlc and Zenless Zone Zero.

Most of those people have physical collections aswell as I and I don't think it's going to sell much at that price without a physical option.

I'm fine with PS5 Pro for a number of years.

I already have a very good pc that I bought before the prices increased massively. I always bought physical games first on PS5 but since that's no longer going to be an option soon then I may aswell stick with pc since it's an open platform with better prices and more storefronts if I'm going digital only, other than the exclusives that come out once or twice per year there's not much reason for me to get a PS6 and I have a PS5 Pro for those games in the cross gen period. I will stay with that for a while, I don't need anything new for some time, I'll think about getting a PS6 once there's a number of exclusives I'd like to play.

@Rezium I'm wondering about that too, it doesn't even affect them since they're already buying digital and it's strange.

I understand them, I always buy physical games on PS5 and there won't ever be an option after January 2028. I spent extra for the disc edition of the PS5 in 2020 and then again for the disc drive for PS5 Pro, they're not even allowing physical for the remaining of PS5's lifecycle.

If you ask me consoles should always have the disc drive/cartridge, it's part of its identity and for ownership, selling, trading, lending, gifting, giving away, no license checks, not needing an account and not needing the internet to play your games.

I might aswell just play on computer when everything is digital only since there's no store shutdowns, Gog allows you to own the game, more storefronts and key sellers. I don't have much reason to buy PS6 other than Sony made games.

Just Granblue Endless Rangnarok's dlc for me, I'll get the Assassins Creed Black Flag remake later since I already have it on PS4 and I'm not in a rush to play it again.

I had to buy a disc drive for the PS5 Pro but I'm thinking about buying a spare drive just in case it breaks. I've still got the fat 825gb model from 2020 but if the drive breaks then I can't use the Pro anymore.

@twitchtvpat I don't think they will but I hope you're right since I have a lot of games for PS4 and PS5 on disc.

The backlash is bigger than I thought, it's all over social media, companies are mocking Sony, people are really upset by this and I don't blame them.

I don't see the point in these ports since they're the same as the PS3 versions except new servers. I might aswell play the PS3 versions outside of the hackers and cheaters.

Also, Black Ops 7 has classic mode which has taken away stims, omnimovement and sliding. It plays closer to Black Ops 1 and 2.

Um, I haven't fully decided yet but I'm leaning towards a no and just staying on PS5 Pro, the price doesn't really bother me too much, it's the lack of physical games, I have a big collection of PS4 and PS5 games and none of this is going to carry forward to PS6. I like to buy games to collect and resell, I don't really trust Sony to keep digital games available in the future since they're shutting down the Vita/PS3 stores, I'm going to lose a couple of games digitally in the process and they deleted peoples accounts that bought movies from them recently.

Sony will have a complete control on the pricing of digital games on the store since there's no other options available, the discounts will take longer and dynamic pricing.

Physical copies meant I actually own something and I could shop around for better deals that are much better than digital games being stuck at full price on PSN, with physical gone it's no longer an option.

Outside of upcoming exclusives I don't have much reason to buy it either since I have a PS5 Pro the cross gen period will last a few years at least.

I'll just play my backlog on PS5 Pro and maybe go retro, also playing Fortnite and the gacha games.

I don't think it will be dead on arrival but it won't sell after the launch period.

I love the series, Halo 2 is my favorite and I do want to play those new missions in this remake, I was going to get this on PS5 but after the elimination of physical I might aswell buy it digitally for pc instead. Microsoft might port over the Master Chief Collection if this sells.

I was also thinking of moving on from the hobby since I spend too much time and money on this stuff or I'll just play my live service games like Fortnite and those gacha games.

I really don't like it but at the same time I don't think complaining isn't going to change anything, I doubt Sony is going to reverse this decision since the majority of people buy digital and want their convenience over owning the game, also thanks to capitalism. I still don't fully trust Sony with all digital since they deleted hundreds of movies from peoples accounts recently and they're going to shut down the Vita and PS3 stores soon. I'm guessing I'm going to lose a couple of JRPG's on the Vita since I bought them digitally.

I don't see much point of buying PS5 games physically anymore since there's no word if PS6 will have a drive add on and it won't have a disc drive built in, so the games will be stuck on PS5.

I have a good gaming PC and if I'm going digital I'm more comfortable there since stores haven't been shut down yet and there's multiple key resellers for me to buy games cheaper. I still don't like having to pay for licenses with no ownership and I usually don't buy them at full price because of it.

Physical copies ending has really put a sour taste in my mouth and I don't know or care about PS6 anymore.

Very disappointed with this, I usually buy physical games to collect or sell and I won't have an option to buy physical in store or online. I might not bother with PS6 and just stick with PS5 Pro and my backlog unless the exclusives are really good or something, I'll probably be buying less games or when they're on sales.

Also, I'm annoyed that GTA 6 won't have a physical disc either but just a code in box, even COD Modern Warfare 4 will have a disc and even a steelbook, while GTA 6 won't have anything.

I'm hoping that it has a seperate add on disc drive like the PS5 Pro for my collection but I don't have much reason to buy PS6 since there isn't going to be any physical games after January 2028.

They're just doing this out of greed since they won't get any money from used sales and they won't have to pay for any manufacturing and shipping costs.

I already have MW3, it has a better multiplayer and open world zombies mode but I was finished with that game by season 6 which was nearly two years ago and the other two games I've never heard of and I don't think I'd want to play them.

Awful news, one of consoles biggest advantage was physical games, but now that's gone I don't have much reason to buy a PS6 except for any exclusive games. I will miss getting games for my birthday/christmas, selling games and collecting.

I have been wanting to use cash and go into a store to buy my games that way, I did that with Pragmata and The Crew Motorfest recently. I can't do that with digital since they don't exist.

If I'm going digital it would be PC since I can use different key sellers and buy games cheaper that way. I still don't like it since it doesn't feel like I'm buying anything but just a license that I don't own.

I don't really need one, I have a gaming pc with an RTX 4090 and a PS5 Pro for my gaming needs and I'm happy with what I have, also graphics aren't getting much better anymore.

I would buy it early is if exclusive games like Horizon 3, Uncharted 5, the next God of War and that next gen Batman game come out for PS6.

I don't like how this AI stuff has really increased Ram prices for consoles and graphics cards and I'm thinking of just sticking with what I have even though I have the money.

I can afford PS6 even with these price increases but I'm happy with what I have. There isn't going to be much improvements to graphics and exclusives won't come until years later.

Eh I just have the basic essentials membership, it's mainly for Call of Duty multiplayer and zombies since I don't want to have to play with hackers and cheaters on pc. I was always turn off crossplay to play with other playstation players, plus all my COD points are on playstation. The games offered are a mixed bag, I've checked the extra and premium tiers but most of the games I already have or I'm not that interested in playing, Oh and also for cloud saves.

Zenless Zone Zero, Granblue Fantasy Relink and Battlefield Hardline, I want to get a couple of the online trophies for the platinum before the servers shut down.

I'm more of a Modern Warfare person, this just seems like a copy or port of the PS3 version to PS5, if it was something like the Modern Warfare 2 remaster I might have been more interested but I'm too used to the newer games movement and speed, the older games don't feel as smooth in comparison, at the same time I'm burned out on Call of Duty at the moment.

I'll be playing this on PS5 Pro for the rewards. It's a good thing that it's enhanced since the original performance mode was blurry, I was thinking of getting this on steam but I would have to start all over again and the endgame was a long grind. I'll just get the dlc expansion on PS5 next month.

I don't feel like I really need a PS6 since graphics aren't really improving much anymore and games take so long to make, like up to 7 or 8 years. I don't mind waiting but whenever it does come out I'll be buying it. I'm happy with the PS5 Pro right now however.

I'll definitely pre-order the standard physical copy next week, this is one of the games I upgraded to PS5 Pro for.

I've played Halo 1 a number of times, I'm not in a rush to play it again with better graphics but I am curious about those new missions. I'll buy this when the price goes down.

If this does come out next year that's five games for me FF7 Revelation, Tomb Raider, Fable, Metro 2039 and this game.

For me it's Resident Evil Requiem and 007 First Light.

I haven't bought any of them. Hellblade 2 I played it on gamepass, Ninja Gaiden 4 and The Outer Worlds 2 I'd like to try them first before buying.

I don't think so, I don't really know much of this game. I'll be playing GTA 6 most likely.

It looks ok, but I stopped playing Atelier when they stopped the English voices since Lydie and Suelle. I don't think I will bother with this without it and I have other games I like anyway.

Voted for 007 First Light, it's a great game.

Just Wolverine and COD Modern Warfare 4 for me. Control Resonant I might have thought about getting that but they took the game in a different direction compared to the first, other than that Rayman Legends remake and Star Wars Galatic Racer are maybes.

It's not coming to Playstation but Gears of War E-Day is another game I care about.

I'm probably the only person here that likes COD lol but yeah it looks good and an improvement over MW2's DMZ, I played that mode a lot a few years ago. It looks like I'm in.

I think I'm going to pass on this, I've already played Persona 4 and I'm not that interested in playing it again with better graphics; plus I'm already buying two or three games in February.

I like the series but I already have a PC and Xbox Series X, even if it did come to PS5 I don't think I would get it there since I can get both Xbox and PC versions for the same price from the Microsoft Store. I'd want it on PC though for the ray tracing.

The game does look really nice especially the improvements to movement and graphics. I'm disappointed at the same time since I wish they had finished Kaits trilogy first before E-Day. I'll get it in October.

Finishing Pragmata and also One Piece Pirate Warriors 3.

Eh I don't like it but most major games are going to have some AI in them. Upcoming games like COD Modern Warfare 4 and Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis are going to have some AI in them and I do want to play them.

I wouldn't get it since it won't come with a disc anyway. The last collector's edition I got was for God of War Ragnarok and that didn't come with a disc, I'm fine with just the standard edition.

It was fine but nothing amazing, I'm into God of War Laufey, Wolverine, Tomb Raider and maybe Marvel Tokon.

I've just started Pragmata and I've gone back to Granblue Fantasy Relink to upgrade some of the characters so that I'm ready for the expansion in July.

I'll be playing Modern Warfare 4 and GTA 6 anyway, so I can wait.

It looks good and the graphics upgrade is nice. I'll get it for the campaign.
