Re: Sony Factory Will Still Have Significant PS5 Disc Manufacturing Capacity After Physical Media Deadline

Shinymoon

I've stopped buying physical on PS5 mostly outside of Wolverine since it was much cheaper than buying it digital from PSN store.

I don't have any faith that PS6 will have any form of disc drive at all, so even if discs are still printed in 2028 I don't think I'll be buying any with the deadline coming up in just over a year from now.

Maybe I'll buy Kingdom Hearts 4 and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation physical just for collection but that will go against me at the same time since I won't be able to play them natively on PS6 with graphics improvements and/or DLC so idk yet, I'll decide when both games are close to releasing.

Re: State of Play's Live Chat Was a Total Mess, and I Wonder What Sony's Going to Do About It

Shinymoon

Those comments don't surprise me because it's still an awful decision from Sony and it's the internet, trolls will always exist.

I've stopped caring about this for the most part since Sony isn't going to change their decision and some people here have been mocking and showing disdain towards people who like physical games which I don't understand. It's a waste of precious time to keep complaining.

I'm not really buying physical on PS5 for the most part since it's very unlikely there will be any disc drive for PS6 optional or not.

Re: Microsoft Confirms Xbox Disc-to-Digital Program in the Wake of Sony Decision to End PlayStation Discs

Shinymoon

I suppose that means the next Xbox is also digital only which is bad since everything will be digital only next generation other than the Switch 2.

At least this disc to digital programme is something that's better than nothing, I have got a few Xbox games that I can convert to digital and then play them on my PC with Play Anywhere which is nice.

I wish Sony would have something similar but I don't think they will, PS6 probably won't even have a disc drive, otherwise they could have said something in the announcement.

Re: So, Erm, Where's Forza Horizon 6 on PS5?

Shinymoon

It's probably still coming since it came out just a few months ago. I don't think I'll buy this again though as I found it too similar to Horizon 5 except for the Japan setting and there's not enough races to get enough points for the gold wristband, I had to grind all of the extra activities on the map to get enough points and finish the game which was disappointing since the previous games weren't like that if I remember.

Re: Game of the Month: Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced (July 2026)

Shinymoon

I voted for Granblue Fantasy Relink: Endless Ragnarok since it's the only one I've played, it's good but they added very little story to it which is kinda disappointing. The new characters, conflux, summons and missions are nice though.

I still need to buy the Assassin's Creed and Halo remakes which I'll buy soon, but at the same time I'm in no rush since I have the original games.

Re: Physical Game Fans Won't Like This New Data About US PS5 Sales

Shinymoon

Meh I know that I'm in the minority that likes physical games, I just think that Sony has done this too soon and the communication has been really bad, they won't go back on this since it's been three weeks already with radio silence.

I wouldn't mind something similar to Limited Run games where it's a little more expensive but the option is still there.

I'm not completely against digital since it's convenient, pre loading and being able to play as soon as it unlocks without having to go to a store or wait for a delivery but I still have a disconnect with seeing games on a screen in my library compared to games on my shelf/cabinet, it feels like I've actually bought and own something.

I suppose I'm moving on, maybe I'll go the free to play route of just playing Call of Duty, Fortnite and gacha games where they add a lot of free content for little to no money, they just take a lot of time and buy much less games.

Re: Black Ops Fans Sure Showed Up for PS5's Overpriced Call of Duty Ports

Shinymoon

Unfortunately, even though I love physical games; I and the rest that like them are in the minority especially when very old COD ports sell this much.

I've always liked COD though and idc what people have to say or think on the internet, I personally didn't bother with these ports since I already have the games and there were no improvements, I have more of an attatchment to Modern Warfare over Black Ops since that was my first COD game, I'd like a remake or remaster of the old Modern Warfare trilogy on PS5 and the good thing is I'm sure it's on the way after how successful these ports are at least for me anyway.

Re: 'Millions of Gamers Value True Ownership': PS5, PS4 Represented Half of All UK Physical Game Revenue in 2025

Shinymoon

It's true, I do still want to own the products I buy and less options is bad overall; except for Sony under capitalism.

I'm looking at all of my PS4 and PS5 games on my shelf and it's sad that I can't buy a single game physically 18 months from now.

They also haven't said anything about backwards compatibility for physical disc owners like an optional drive or the disc to digital program that Microsoft is doing, I'm guessing there won't be anything. There's very little reason for me to buy a £1000+ PS6 when none of library is going to carry forward and there's going to be very little for me.

Re: PS5's Call of Duty: Black Ops Port Reportedly Riddled with Hackers

Shinymoon

I did say that these ports were pointless since there were no improvements, I do understand that some people may want to play these on PS5 but I thought that these ports were going to have new servers to stop any cheating/hacking, it seems to still be happening; I will stick with the PS3 versions, I have no reason to be buying these cash grab ports.

Re: Poll: Are You Considering Leaving PlayStation for PC?

Shinymoon

I already have a very good pc that I bought before the prices increased massively. I always bought physical games first on PS5 but since that's no longer going to be an option soon then I may aswell stick with pc since it's an open platform with better prices and more storefronts if I'm going digital only, other than the exclusives that come out once or twice per year there's not much reason for me to get a PS6 and I have a PS5 Pro for those games in the cross gen period. I will stay with that for a while, I don't need anything new for some time, I'll think about getting a PS6 once there's a number of exclusives I'd like to play.

Re: PlayStation's First Post Since Physical Games Debacle Draws 57k Replies

Shinymoon

I understand them, I always buy physical games on PS5 and there won't ever be an option after January 2028. I spent extra for the disc edition of the PS5 in 2020 and then again for the disc drive for PS5 Pro, they're not even allowing physical for the remaining of PS5's lifecycle.

If you ask me consoles should always have the disc drive/cartridge, it's part of its identity and for ownership, selling, trading, lending, gifting, giving away, no license checks, not needing an account and not needing the internet to play your games.

I might aswell just play on computer when everything is digital only since there's no store shutdowns, Gog allows you to own the game, more storefronts and key sellers. I don't have much reason to buy PS6 other than Sony made games.

Re: Poll: $1,000 and No Disc Drive - Is PS6 Dead on Arrival?

Shinymoon

Um, I haven't fully decided yet but I'm leaning towards a no and just staying on PS5 Pro, the price doesn't really bother me too much, it's the lack of physical games, I have a big collection of PS4 and PS5 games and none of this is going to carry forward to PS6. I like to buy games to collect and resell, I don't really trust Sony to keep digital games available in the future since they're shutting down the Vita/PS3 stores, I'm going to lose a couple of games digitally in the process and they deleted peoples accounts that bought movies from them recently.

Sony will have a complete control on the pricing of digital games on the store since there's no other options available, the discounts will take longer and dynamic pricing.

Physical copies meant I actually own something and I could shop around for better deals that are much better than digital games being stuck at full price on PSN, with physical gone it's no longer an option.

Outside of upcoming exclusives I don't have much reason to buy it either since I have a PS5 Pro the cross gen period will last a few years at least.

I'll just play my backlog on PS5 Pro and maybe go retro, also playing Fortnite and the gacha games.

I don't think it will be dead on arrival but it won't sell after the launch period.

Re: Reaction: PlayStation's Reputation Is at Rock Bottom - Where Do We Go from Here?

Shinymoon

I really don't like it but at the same time I don't think complaining isn't going to change anything, I doubt Sony is going to reverse this decision since the majority of people buy digital and want their convenience over owning the game, also thanks to capitalism. I still don't fully trust Sony with all digital since they deleted hundreds of movies from peoples accounts recently and they're going to shut down the Vita and PS3 stores soon. I'm guessing I'm going to lose a couple of JRPG's on the Vita since I bought them digitally.

I don't see much point of buying PS5 games physically anymore since there's no word if PS6 will have a drive add on and it won't have a disc drive built in, so the games will be stuck on PS5.

I have a good gaming PC and if I'm going digital I'm more comfortable there since stores haven't been shut down yet and there's multiple key resellers for me to buy games cheaper. I still don't like having to pay for licenses with no ownership and I usually don't buy them at full price because of it.

Physical copies ending has really put a sour taste in my mouth and I don't know or care about PS6 anymore.

Re: Reaction: PlayStation's Burned Through the Last Remaining Goodwill of Its Fans

Shinymoon

Very disappointed with this, I usually buy physical games to collect or sell and I won't have an option to buy physical in store or online. I might not bother with PS6 and just stick with PS5 Pro and my backlog unless the exclusives are really good or something, I'll probably be buying less games or when they're on sales.

Also, I'm annoyed that GTA 6 won't have a physical disc either but just a code in box, even COD Modern Warfare 4 will have a disc and even a steelbook, while GTA 6 won't have anything.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for July 2026 Announced

Shinymoon

I already have MW3, it has a better multiplayer and open world zombies mode but I was finished with that game by season 6 which was nearly two years ago and the other two games I've never heard of and I don't think I'd want to play them.

Re: PlayStation Consoles to Stop Getting Disc-Based Physical Releases in 2028

Shinymoon

Awful news, one of consoles biggest advantage was physical games, but now that's gone I don't have much reason to buy a PS6 except for any exclusive games. I will miss getting games for my birthday/christmas, selling games and collecting.

I have been wanting to use cash and go into a store to buy my games that way, I did that with Pragmata and The Crew Motorfest recently. I can't do that with digital since they don't exist.

If I'm going digital it would be PC since I can use different key sellers and buy games cheaper that way. I still don't like it since it doesn't feel like I'm buying anything but just a license that I don't own.

Re: Rumour: PS6 Costs Sony Almost $1,000 to Make Right Now

Shinymoon

I don't really need one, I have a gaming pc with an RTX 4090 and a PS5 Pro for my gaming needs and I'm happy with what I have, also graphics aren't getting much better anymore.

I would buy it early is if exclusive games like Horizon 3, Uncharted 5, the next God of War and that next gen Batman game come out for PS6.

I don't like how this AI stuff has really increased Ram prices for consoles and graphics cards and I'm thinking of just sticking with what I have even though I have the money.

Re: Sony Aims to Drive PS Plus Profits by 'Improving Service Proposition'

Shinymoon

Eh I just have the basic essentials membership, it's mainly for Call of Duty multiplayer and zombies since I don't want to have to play with hackers and cheaters on pc. I was always turn off crossplay to play with other playstation players, plus all my COD points are on playstation. The games offered are a mixed bag, I've checked the extra and premium tiers but most of the games I already have or I'm not that interested in playing, Oh and also for cloud saves.
