Marvel Tokon Put Up a Fight for North America's Best-Selling PS Store Game Last Month

Sony has released the PS Store's chart data for the month of August, and among the best sellers is PS5's superhero tag fighter, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.

On the PS5 chart for North America, the game landed in second place, coming in behind only Madden NFL 27. It's a pretty impressive placement for a new fighting game.

Unfortunately, Tokon didn't land nearly as strongly in Europe; it doesn't appear in the region's top 20 at all. Top of the chart for Europe is the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 remaster, followed by Minecraft and Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced.

Black Ops 2 comes third in the US chart.

Again, across the pond at least, it's a solid debut for Tokon. The Marvel fighter made quite a splash among fighting game enthusiasts, and while the PC version had some teething issues, the overall sentiment is very good.

It'll be interesting to see if it has much of a lifespan beyond launch. We know developer Arc System Works is planning at least four more characters and a new stage coming in DLC; hopefully we hear more about those soon.
