Re: Review: Rainbow Skies (PS4)

Yes! Thank you so much for the review.

I loved Rainbow Moon back and PS3 and have been waiting for this successor for years. Happy to see its good. Going to buy it once the PSN store updates for me.

Re: Review: New Gundam Breaker (PS4)

Ryumoau

This is sad. I loved Gundam Breaker 3 and was excited when this was first announced. It was a new game and i wouldn't have to spend ridiculous money importing.

But this seems like a huge step backwards on all fronts. Less Gunpla, terrible new gameplay additions, and a meh visual novel story. Not too mention performance issues. Geez...

Namco was better off just localizing Breaker 3 for Western markets than making a new game that damages the brand. Heck even a Dynasty Warriors Gundam 5 would be great.

They've been giving us alot of weak Gundam titles lately, like Versus and that PS Vita exclusive one.
Do they want Gundam to fail over here?

Re: Review: Call of Duty: Black Ops III (PS4)

Ryumoau

Great review! I didn't mind the campaign story that much, though i've generally haven't been disappointed by the CoD campaigns (except Ghosts and MW3). The new cybercore abilities were really fun to us and i hope the new co-op open area idea gets carried on throughout the next couple CoD campaigns.

I've never been a big zombies fan but Nightmare mode has me interested, mainly because of its focus on story rather than just wave survival. In some ways i actually prefer the simplistic story telling of Nightmare mode than the more complex story in the regular campaign.

But Multiplayer is where i have the most fun in this game. The BO3 beta released earlier this year was the most fun i had in CoD since the original Black Ops game. And i was really happy to see the final product had made improvements from the beta. Some of the specialist abilities like Rejack were nerfed and the annoying Blackhat item was tweaked. I'm having so much fun with this game and it feels like its built to last hopefully as long as Black Ops 2 did (which alot of people still player 3 years later).

My faith in Infinity Ward is very low, so i'm happy that even if CoD 2016 sucks i can still play Black Ops 3 till Advanced Warfare 2.

Re: Review: 5 Star Wrestling (PlayStation 3)

man thats really sad to hear this wasn't a good game. I've been disappointed by the WWE games ever since WWE '12, so i was hoping this indie game would breathe new life into the videogame wrestling scene.

Re: Review: Hand of Fate (PlayStation 4)

The game sounds like something i may want to try but the $20 price tag is too steep for me. So i'll wait for a sale. Its a shame since this would have been a perfect candidate for a week one ps plus discount or something.

Re: Review: One Piece: Unlimited World Red (PlayStation 3)

Ryumoau

i'm not the biggest fan of the One Piece series, but i have played Pirate Warrios 1 and 2 (mostly because i love dynasty warriors). Watching gameplay videos of this reminds me of Pirate Warriors.
But again Namco insists on not offering an english dub option, so i'm going to wait for a severe price drop.

Re: Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn Enters Orbit in July, Fires Off a New Trailer

Ryumoau

According to Destructoid, the Date for North America is July 4th and it will only be $40. This is great news because i was initially worried that it would be $60, despite being digital only here. They've done that with both Kens Rage 2 and One Piece PW2.
$40 sounds like the standard price all Dynasty Warriors games should launch at, even as a huge fan of the series.

Re: Opinion: EA Found Its Call of Duty Killer, and Committed a Titanic Mistake

Ryumoau

sigh....no offense but i feel like the people calling Titanfall a 'CoD killer' are the same imbeciles who thought Battlefield could topple it.

Why do people assume that everyone playing CoD is just going to immediately jump to every new shooter that comes along? The reason CoD became so popular was because of its fast paced arcadey feel that other shooters couldn't replicate. Its the reason some people who play CoD will never go to battlefield, which has larger maps and more emphasis on teamwork.

Titanfall also has several new mechanics like the parkour jumping and giant mechs that could turn people off. Even if it was multiplatform, it still wouldn't get the massive amount of casual and hardcore gamers that CoD has gained over the years. Also, this game comes out in march, so it will still have little impact on CoD's game sales in november.

Re: Review: Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z (PlayStation Vita)

Ryumoau

I guess i was right to just put this game on my gamefly rental queue. I enjoyed the demo but i didn't think it was deep or complex enough to warrant a full $60.
I praise Bandai for trying to bring the dbz games into a new direction from the countless Budokai/Tenkaichi type game. But it doesn't seem like they choose the right developer or the right price to charge for this.
