bought dragons dogma 2 but it really didn’t pull me in. I was expecting to feel like I went on a grand adventure like the reviews said. Instead what I got was just laughably… idk, video game-y. I picked mage and battling was spamming square button while my character barely moved. It just felt off. Think I’ll try Witcher 3 instead

@Doctor_BK reading your comment was the opposite of my experience. I did all the side quests and by the end wish I hadn’t even bothered w them I would’ve enjoyed the game a lot more

I say this as someone who owned both: this is PlayStation’s 32x

I started gen as an Xbox gamer and was always jealous of ps plus selection. Started working my way through ps backlog last year and signed up for for a year of premium in September. Man seems like every month since has been a disappointment

@doctommaso majoras is one of my favorite games of all time. Give the three day cycle a chance to settle in and it’ll feel like second nature by the end

I just finished ff7R (loved it) and started intermission. Also started the order 1886 which I’m playing in French and really enjoying that too

The vast majority of gamers are straight males (I’m a bi make myself so not a perfect fit for category) but I think it’s great to make characters that appeal to the primary demographic

Why don’t we go back to having some smaller games that cost less to make and cost less to buy. Parappa the rappa was a 2 hour game.

I just got a psvr2 about a month ago and I am impressed with it, but yeah they need to release some games for it.

This is one of my personal favorite games. Since it launched it started a whole new interested in the Middle Ages for me that's still going strong (currently reading a history of the crusades by Steven Runciman)

@Loamy agreed. They built a cool world with xvi and then wore me down with repetition and meaningless side quests

PLaying my first AC now with Odyssey. Using it to practice French. They're good for practicing a second language there's a decent amount of talking and they'll help you with where to go

It really, really concerns me about the industry. Competition has always been good for it, going back to sega vs Nintendo. Sony itself had to come out swinging with the ps4 after ps3. One company with a near lock on the hardware (and therefore digital marketplace) is going to bite consumers in a big way

As silly fun as it is to argue over the console wars, this is bad for everyone but Sony and Microsoft. Ms expands their sub service and will continue to accumulate to add to it. Sony gets hegemonic/monopoly status in the console space. Consumers lose big time at the lack of competition

As a primarily Xbox player last few years (and Nintendo before that) I’m catching up on some old PlayStation hits. Started the first uncharted and rift in time. I’m also, finally, on the last boss of baldurs gate 3

Demons souls a remake and baldurs gate 3. I’m over 100 hours into bg3 and man I am ready for it to be over

I slept with astarion, lae'zel, shadowheart, the emperor, and the demon lady that hangs around wyll. I love the game. The third act is pretty massive tho and i'm ready to wrap it up

i played it on gamepass. Didn't manage to get to the end as i lost interest rewatching and re-clicking but it did suck me in for a while there

It looks and plays great. I fell off it pretty hard got a bit boring but plan on going back to it at some point

oh boy i just finally start Demon's Souls remake for first time. So far i think it's my favorite behind Elden Ring. I know everyone likes bloodborne but, man, i'm a magic user and did not have an easy go of it with bb

i just bought an edge yesterday. Cord is long enough to stay plugged in. But man, i was shocked at the short battery life when i got the PS5. The elite controller on xbox lasts crazy long

I like the main character (nice to be able to play as a white male) but combat is repetitive and so are the sidequests. It does have a cool world and world building though.

I beat it but didn't enjoy it that much. The part at the end where she calls someone a white a***ole really did me in too

MS did make the better console this gen to be fair

I prefer the original with the smooth sides TBH. It's not beautiful but it is unique

Before i had a PS5 i'd look at the garbage games i got free with Xbox and be jealous of the bangers PS was giving away. Now i have a PS5 and subbed for a year for online (mostly for Demon's Souls/ Bloodborne) and the monthly games. And i don't event want to waste the space downloading these, why add to what i scroll through with games i will never open even once

@RBRTMNZ I don't even feel like they're free. I don't play online much at all outside of enjoying seeing the ghosts or reading signs in dark souls. I pretty much subbed for a year for that and for these games. Regretting it now

It does seem like it’s been a long time since they game released, I did want to replay it. At the same time my backlog is so big I feel like I could spend the next year just getting through the games I already own

I really likes the first one I just don’t like miles morales n think addition of second spider man was really unnecessary

i played it when i released on gamepass last year and absolutely loved the first 3rd of the game. then they introduced combat and it became extremely frustrating to the point it was not playable for me

Disappointing. Ah well i recently got the original in physical for xbox

Really hope this has some impact on game lineup eventually. Needs some new ideas some fresh IPs. Maybe start some smaller, cheaper games that are a bit riskier but new and exciting

i'll have to pick this up at some point. I'm against the grain here but bloodborne is the From Game i had hardest time getting into and think i would have same problem here. I'm a magic user in these games and i'm not used to the up close combat. I also have armored core 6 still shrink wrapped waiting for me when i get to backlog (after starfield and halloween games)

Xbox had a strong lineup for first time since 360 era? I think they did a great job w the series x too. Backwards compatibility, quick resume, smart delivery are all really nice

@General_Disarray No i tend to look at review scores i'm sure we've all gotten burned ignoring reviews before (now i've been burned listening to them too). in this case the mediocore ones were way off. Clearly, look at how the game has taken off. Easily my game of the year even over Zelda and i'm usually a big Zelda fan.
