Re: Physical Game Sales Hit All-Time Low in the US

Queesh

I recently pulled out my box of old consoles.

It’s awesome to own the physical game boxes/consoles, and to physically hold the games I love and used to get so excited to insert into my old PlayStations, Xboxes, various Nintendo consoles.

It’s unfortunate to me that younger gamers don’t value the physical presentation. They must not have that same relationship with it.

I love looking at box art, and game packets, and the cartridge and discs themselves too.

Even now, with my PS5, it’s a representation of having been there, and been a part of that history.

I don’t think digital only owners will be ABLE to revisit those memories like I will be able to.

I think ps5 owners are a bit spoiled.

As someone who just upgraded from a gaming PC to a ps5 pro, I can assure you:

You are getting the best gaming experience for your money right now.

If you were building a PC from scratch to perform better than even a baseline ps5, you’re likely spending more than double what a ps5 costs.

Gamers have so much anxiety.
Relax, and enjoy this beautiful hardware generation while it’s happening.

I don’t think I’m the target audience, as I’m not sweaty enough, and I’ve been out of the competitive shooter scene for years.

I don’t consider myself to be a terrible gamer, but…

After about 6 matches, I don’t yet grasp what I’m looking at or suppose to be doing enough to be successful.

I either loot a bunch and get killed, or I focus on fighting and survive only to have nothing to show for it.
