I'm dying for a God Of War 1-3 style game, but with modern gameplay sensibilities

This hopefully means it's not too much work to implement this low power mode in games

Which bodes well for the PlayStation handheld having a good selection of games

The acid test will be 3rd parties supporting it, with games like Battlefield 6, which we all know scales downwards brilliantly to old PCs and Xbox Series S

(Assuming this low power mode is a prelude to the forthcoming handheld)

Not really bothered about this, hope it doesn't add bulk or weight

My PS3/4/(standard)5 controllers have always lasted fine, a full week nights gaming with ease & most of am all-day at the weekend

They need to fix stick drift & launch controllers with technology that's immune to it

Not my thing, but happy if it makes others happy

I use my Warhawk one, best most fun multiplayer game ever, & I'll never change it

I wish they'd do one in the style of GoWIII

While working on the next in the old man Kratos series

But surely modern remasters of the GoW Collection Vol 1 & 2 plus Ascension have to be on the way, Sony busy remastering games which are 2mins old, but ignoring their classics like GoW, Killzone, Motorstorm, Resistance, Socom/M.A.G.,Warhawk etc

Day 1 for me
Forza Horizon 3, 4 & 5 were the Xbox exclusive games I was most jealous of

Shameful that something a civilisation as instrumental as Great Britain isn't in the base game, but is coming just 1(!!!) month after launch as premium DLC

I will not reward these businesses practices, I'll wait until base game + bundle of DLCs are on sale

Absolutely shocking that yet again PS Plus Premium subscribers get nothing, while everybody else who pays less than them or even nothing at all gets an offer thrown at them

People thought the much larger gap between the plates would make up the difference. Duh

3 different sets of plates is ludicrous, understandable they needed smaller ones for the Slim (slightly slimmer) model

I thought the Slim & Pro would be the same, with the size difference being taken up by the larger gap in the middle

Very disappointing

10/10 combat
10/10 traversal - (important in an open world game)
2/10 story - Just a hot mess, too many characters, poor treatment of existing villains, Venom would've been better as only a tease with the game concentrating on Kraven Vs Spidey and then Spidey Vs Kraven in final act, with Harry & symbiotes influence only becoming a factor late in the game to set-up a spin-off
Overall 6-7/10 - Great in some aspects, good in others, but disappointing as judged by lack of will to return to it, unlike the first two which I played multiple times & likely will again

@Bez87 Lol, it never played flawlessly for the majority at all

It was a complete mess at launch

Took about 5 waves of patches to stop it quitting the game and returning to PS5 home screen

I've never played such a buggy game

Luckily the gameplay was fun enough to persevere, but the whole thing just felt rushed with very clumsy writing, terrible paxing and an uneven story that's wasn't a patch on the original

It was the most buggy, glitchiest PS5 same far, which kept qutting the game and booting people back to PS5 homescreen, it took several patches to fix

Very disappointing, was looking forward to DLC

SM2 was probably buggiest PS5 game ever, at launch. Later fixed after numerous patches. An underwhelming story and a dull af post-game experience, I regret paying launch day price for it

The whole thing seemed extremely rushed, unlike the first two, so it's even more disappointing they're not going to flesh it out like they did the excellent first game

The Venom gameplay sections were quite poor, so won't bother with the Venom spinoff either. It was just about five in those small doses

Sadly, just a case of waiting to see how long Wolverine takes now

There's so much graphics technology that has come to the fore since PS5 released

Getting sick of the latest games running internally at 720p to try & hit 60fps, before the image is passed to the crappy, blurry FSR upscaler which is ruining imagine quality
The Pro should be able to run these games internally at 1080p before passing the image to the Machine Learning PSSR upscaler for a high quality 4k output while maintaining 60fps & with 3x the hardware RT performance

A good game, with a lot of fun to be had

Not great or an all-timer, but good & some fun nonetheless

To see people slate it who've never experienced some of the fun it offers is bizarre, still that's the social media world we live in

Both need a remake with modern controls though, because the controls for 3rd person games were very much in their infancy

The flip to live service development under Jim Ryan and Herman Hulst has killed everything I've loved about PlayStation.

It's not Sony's fault though, they're looking at PlayStation gamers playtime on their systems and seeing it being nothing more than Fortnite, Roblox and Minecraft, and far lower than expected sales of Rise of Ronin, FFXVI, FFVII Rebirth and other single player titles... And see that regardless of what people claim online, they don't want single player experiences and spend all their time in a handful of old service titles

The Unreal-ification of gaming isn't necessarily a great thing

Games look too samey

Snowdrop, Insomniacs, Naughty Dogs, Decima, even Cryengine

Competition is good, variety is good

None of the are Sony games. In fact Sony only has 1 game in the top 20 most played games on PlayStation

Sony need to crack that live service nut to survive in a world dominated by Fortnite, Genshin, Roblox, Minecraft, GTA Online, Red Dead Online, Apex, CoD, Overwatch 2 & Dead by Daylight

Live service is all people are playing. Not even new ones. Too many games are dying under their weight

Jailbreaking is nothing to do with theft, stealing or similar. It merely unlocks locked-down hardware so it can be used to its full capability, such as potentially putting the Play Store on this device so you can play your purchased Android games & dual boot into Android OS & Portal OS

Only WiFi 5, in 2023
No Bluetooth, so need to buy Sony's very expensive ear buds if you want wireless audio, not even compatible with Pulse headset
Remote Play needed a massive overhaul to further reduce lag
No PlayStation Cloud streaming is utterly bizarre
At £200 you'd expect internal memory & ability to play PSP/PSVita games offline

An utterly bizarre device, if competent in its extremely limited use case

A colossal missed opportunity

But as it was confirmed to run Android & it just boots to Portal UI, hopefully a 'jailbreak' is along soon to make it more useful to more people

First he turned them into safe bets blockbusters only, now he's turning them into a live service company

I was expecting a lot more smaller more creative indie games, but there only seemed a few & instead we got big games like Ubisoft's Far Cry: Avatar & FFVII....

Disappointing in that regard

Because it's a home console & most people use it on massive TVs in the living room rather than small bedroom setups with headphones, many living rooms with home theatre setups that are increasingly Atmos capable

It's been a joke that home theatre setups with height channels weren't supported on Day 1

It's no different to FIFA, Fortnite or any other game with MTX

It's an impossibly huge game and it's bizarre it has been missing from the biggest home console platform for so long

Offset sticks are a disgrace on a PlayStation product

Quite a few people have just discovered the game via PS+ wouldn't have hurt to allow 3 more months

I think it's very short-termism of Sony, the way they've treated some of their key franchises and not to mention UK studios

Rocket League, always Rocket League. Thousands of hours deep

While I await the new PS+ so I can catch-up on games I missed out on like Returnal and Death Stranding

Then back to Rocket League

@BAMozzy Shame Sony didn't keep Evolution Studios going a Driveclub 2 would go down a storm these days & new Motorstorm

Could even rebadge it under a Gran Turismo spinoff, so it competes with Forza Horizon, while GT beats Forza Motorsport

I don't get on with Codies racing games not all of them anyway. IMO Dirt 5 was very disappointing in comparison to Wreckfest & I've had issues with their other racing games across PS4 & 3

But GT just leaves me cold, it just seems so sterile & static

I think I'll sit both out, get Grid in a sale if it's good and maybe get GT7 when it's part of 'PS5 Classics' for 15.99 in a few years

God I miss Evolution's & Criterion's Motorstorm, Driveclub & Burnout... Proper entertaining fun
