Re: Poll: How Would You Rate Summer Game Fest and Its Surrounding Shows as a Whole?

MaikonCSGarcia

@Bez87 My god, every time I see someone talk about Xbox acquisitions the value gets higher, one more year and we will be at 1 trillion dollars, 68.7B for ABK, 7B for Bethesda. You can try to argue that 5 AA studios with financial problems and 2 studios that were already working exclusively for Xbox and owned no IP (Forza and State of Decay were Microsoft properties before the acquisition) completed the 100B but it's hard to get there.

Re: All The Game Awards 2023 Winners

MaikonCSGarcia

@Sil_Am Who besides Forza would win best sports/racing game? And whoever did better than literally enabling blind players to play their games, Forza went to the extreme of accessibility, yes, the game was released unfinished, but these are aspects where he did well, the only ones, but they exist.

Re: Could Marvel's Blade Come to PS5? Bethesda Declines to Comment

MaikonCSGarcia

@MFTWrecks You know that Microsoft can pay you to have control over these aspects, right? Remember Sony doesn't have any rights to Wolverine, and Microsoft has already renegotiated Indiana Jones as an exclusive, a deal already made as a multiplatform before the acquisition, why would they accept to make a deal after the acquisition that won't be exclusive?

Remember, Marvel is coming in with the IP and supervising it to see if it matches the expected quality, everything else comes out of Microsoft's pocket. They don't need a profit-sharing agreement, an upfront payment licensing agreement is very common. Microsoft even licenses Shadowrun in this way to Paradox.

@ThorsHammer Indiana Jones is still not announced as an exclusive and is not on the Xbox channel, even though the renegotiation for exclusivity has already happened and been leaked thanks to the FTC.

Also we don't know if all of ABK will continue as multiplat, they've already stated that there may be some exclusive games, but COD will never be one of them. And that is the only IP that they promised to keep as multiplatform, especially after the end of this generation.

@Defcon5 Still they paid for the development and probably for the licensing of the IP, all the cost and risk is with them.

Re: Could Marvel's Blade Come to PS5? Bethesda Declines to Comment

MaikonCSGarcia

@croaker_1 Noop, Sony Only owns movie rights for everything else belongs to Disney, Spiderman games with Sony are Just a licensed, like Wolverine and Blade.

@BusyOlf Yes, cause Marvel gets the check during IP licensing

@get2sammyb The same goes for Indiana Jones, also not on the Xbox Channel, but we Stills know that It is a Xbox exclusives, thanks to the renegotiation of the agreement by Microsoft with Disney, everything revealed during the FTC case, if they did this for Indiana Jones, why in a new agreement, made under Xbox Wouldn't they negotiate exclusivity? Why not comment? I don't know, but it's serving as marketing for the game, the same applies to Indiana Jones before the leak.

@UltimateOtaku91 The same guy who claims Sony bought Bandai Nanco, right?

Re: PS5, PS4 Players Will 'Remain Welcome' As Xbox Closes $69 Billion Activision Blizzard Buyout

MaikonCSGarcia

@Deadsea93 I really liked the gameplay loop, five was a good game, but not what i was sold, 4 was amazing (lore wise)

And i get what u mean, but they can and will buy more, i wish they went for small studios, but right now they dont care about studios, they care about IP's.

And being honest: Ninja Theory, Playground Games, UndeadLabs, Compulsion Games, Obsidian and InXile ( all bought in 2018) have grown under Xbox and deliver some of the most polished games since the acquisition, the same goes for Double Fine acquired in 2019. The big problem are the old studio (Turn 10, The Coalition, Rare, 343 Ind and Mojang) that did not have someone overlooking for years, that was what killed Lionhead, too much freedon.

@Jimboss That one hurt. I hate Amazon.

Re: PS5, PS4 Players Will 'Remain Welcome' As Xbox Closes $69 Billion Activision Blizzard Buyout

MaikonCSGarcia

@Deadsea93 Oh, i loved Halo Infinite, short for sure, but i do not care about online, but people did ask for a gaas Halo.

@XenonKnight Noop, still owned by Crystal Dynamics (bought at the same time as Eidos) under the Embracer Group, Amazon is just the publisher for the next game. Same as ABK being the publisher for Sekiro on the west, but From Software owning the IP.

@BobaTheFett A Publisher not for now, and even in the future a small one, but studios, they for sure can buy a few.

Re: Microsoft Activision Deal Finally Given the All-Clear from UK Regulator

MaikonCSGarcia

@IAmAshCohen17 i Hope Microsoft uses Toys for Bob to work on ALL the old Rare IP's. And i think u r right about Sega but u really Hope they Go back to buying studios, especially those who already work with them, for example they love using Asobo for Kinect games and Now Flight Simulator pra maybe even saving some Studios from Embracer (saving cause they Said that they Will close more).

@BeerIsAwesome I dont think they can do a hostile take over on a japonese company, people always say that it is more difficult to buy a Japanese company, but as far as I remember it is more difficult to buy in a hostile way, as dar as i remember It is impossible, the government literally has the power to stop a hostile takeover by a foreign company.

Re: New Cuphead Update Skips PS4, Will Be Exclusive to Xbox, PC

MaikonCSGarcia

@pyrrhic_victory Ninja Theory did not work on that, Xbox hired a third-party studio to do the update for their platform, marketing.

Ninja Theory only works with their projects related to mental health at the moment, 2 being games (Hellblade , Projecto Mara) the other a partnership with the people who helped in the development of Hellblade.

I cant see why would Microsoft pay for a update on PS5 WHILE Sony was charging PS users for updates on their first-party games.

Re: Don't Worry, Activision Totally Has the Source Code for Those Awesome PS3 Transformers Games

MaikonCSGarcia

@Floki Bobby Kotick said that, the guy that probably will leave the company after the acquisition is finished and could have done it if they believed in the IP's.

And again, their own IP vs a third-party IP, Microsoft gets to sell merchandising (toys, backpacks, books, notebooks, pens, clothes, etc) in their own IP, like they do with Halo, Minecraft, Skyrim, Banjo, SoT, etc. They can't do that with Transformers.

It's not as big as CoD, also why risk wasting time on IP's, that following your hypothesis, should be cross-platform. Any first-party IP, makes more sense as multiplat, when compared to a third-party IP.

Not something that Microsoft would usually do, Gears/Fable fans are begging for remasters for years and they still not doing it.
