I bought it 🤷‍♂️. I am currently trying to get the platinum on it as it’s not a bad game, a little disappointing after the previous two though. The story is utter garbage, and the dragon sections are just pointless. Still, the action is fun once you crank the speed up, and it was a decent enough 15 hour campaign.

If it goes below 20 quid in a sale then it’s an easy recommend, but I did get ripped off.

Finished doom today so had a look at what’s on sale, good lord it’s vile on there. Just rows and rows of garbage. It’s borderline impossible to find any little indie gems now due to it.

@Mintie play the dark ages first. It’s very good but Eternal is something else, it perfects fps shooting to an embarrassing degree.

It’s fine. It’s ok. It just feels like a huge step backwards after Eternal, which I believe is the greatest FPS of all time. The plot is too prominent and they’re putting vehicle and mech sections in that don’t really work. That and the muted colour scheme isn’t really doing it for me after the look of the last two games.

@throwmeaname definitely worth the money. I’m gobsmacked at how good it is.

I bought it due to word of mouth and I’m loving it so far. Pure class in every way. I love how they released a superb game from out of nowhere, don’t overcharge, don’t shoehorn in mtx or online bloat, don’t lecture the player, don’t need to score culture war points and just let the exceptional art and writing speak for itself.

Decent month tbh. Ark isn’t for me, but Boltgun is good (I’ve got it on Switch) and I loved balatro so much I bought it on both consoles. It’s such a good game, don’t overlook it as it’s one of the most iconic games since Tetris.

@Almost_Ghostly yeah….. no. What I’m saying is that you’re getting a bit too annoyed over a difference of opinion. It’s ok, you’re allowed to be excited about the biker man and his zombie friends.

Can’t wait to not play this on PS5 either. Played maybe two hours on PS4 and this has to be the blandest game I’ve ever played.

I bought a switch a couple of years ago and played all the games I wanted to on it. It’s ok but I’m not itching to upgrade. I was initially floored by Duskbloods til it turned out to be a multiplayer game, and the only other thing I’m really into is Metroid Prime 4 but I can wait. That c button demonstration was painful to watch too. Good god.

I’d like them to bring back the infamous games, only shift it to a new engine with smaller load times, and give Cole some nicely animated hair. They were really good games but marred by the limits of the system and in game barbers.

I mean I just used to turn off all the hip hop anyway so it’s not a big deal. 100 Gecs are good though. Like them.

@Atreus97 they removed my comment but for the record it was definitely sarcasm and I’m hyped for anything ND put out. Plus I’m rocking a bald patch myself having gotten old, so it’s not exactly a dealbreaker.

@Boxmonkey I have a leaked email from ND which tells us that she’s a Jehovah’s Witness and that the gameplay loop is mainly knocking on people’s doors and being nice, so you’re out of luck there.

@Atreus97 it just suggests laziness on the part of the devs. Like they’ll animate things perfectly and then chicken out of the hair physics. Renders most games unplayable for me. You know they animated every hair on Donkey for Shrek? I have to applaud that. This is why I still send Dreamworks Christmas cards every year, those guys know the score.

Well that’s a terrible month seeing as I bought Robocop a while back. It’s pretty good but the other two? Yikes, they weren’t supposed to actually go THROUGH the barrel!

@TheArt mate, Baldurs gate is worth it at full price for the amount of depth and quality writing.

My stepdaughter is really looking forward to this. It’s nice to have some LOTR content that appeals to the cosy market.

My favourite game of all time, I’ve played it through countless times and never tire of it. The combat is just so satisfying and the mood and look of it is perfect. I would happily do some very immoral things for a sequel.

@ShogunRok there’s definitely a market for it, and it’s more a personal taste thing. I just find that Ubisoft games put me off due to the overly busy map and the onslaught of ads for mtx and dlc as soon as you boot the game up. If anything I’ve been playing more stuff like Balatro and Returnal lately, just because I can start the game and be doing something fun within 20 seconds.

Liked AC2, tried Valhalla but didn’t like it. Not bothering with this one.

Could we create AI versions of various executives and publishers we could hurl abuse at? That might be nice. Reducing the likes of Andrew Wilson to a quivering, weeping, shell would be a lot more fun than playing FIFA or CoD.

If they’ve made 4 play the same way as 3 then they’ve missed the point. It was meant to be a sort of “hang out and skate with your friends at your own pace” sort of deal, so I don’t understand this at all. I’ll still buy it of course, but I’m not sure how they’re going to make it work.

Good god how badly must this garbage have failed in order for this to happen. It’s like putting heads on stakes to deter others. Get proper writers in and patronise your audience at your own peril.

Turtles is pretty great tho, not bothered about sonic.

PAC man just isn’t for me, I’m glad it exists and it seems well made but not my thing at all. Jedi Survivor I bought in the last sale and haven’t played yet (my stepson is really into it though!) and as for Topspin? Two words and the second one is “off”. I do not play those sorts of games. So not a great month personally but I can see why some are happy about it.

@ChrisDeku as someone who’s championed them I’ll happily tell you; this game looks absolute dog eggs and I won’t be buying it.

Much as I love the soulsborne games, I am 100% out on this. If it works for you, fine, but I’m not wasting my time on a MP game when I could be enjoying a replay far more.

Unless this is F2P I can’t see it doing very well, the audience certainly doesn’t seem the type to stick around for this kind of thing. Oh and Concord, lol. As mentioned above.

@Korgon they could still sell the sp at 70 dollars and the mp at say, 50. That’s a lot of money seeing as a lot of people would buy both.

I’m up for that. I’ve no interest in the online element of it at all. From what I saw of GTA online after playing a few sessions over a few years, it was an absolute cesspit anyway so I’d rather not pay for it.

Eternal is one of my favourite games of all time, and 2016 was incredible. Even Doom VFR was a riot! I’ve been playing Doom since 1996 and it NEVER gets old.

BioWare are a completely different company to the one that made ME1 to 3. They’re a shell of what they were. FIFA or whatever it’s called I don’t care about, it can do one. It’s a shame BioWare suck now but hey ho, at least we’ve got some decent devs who are working on some likely amazing games.

@RoomWithaMoose sadly though, if you criticise a game with a female or POC or both protagonist a lot of the time, people just think that’s the issue you have. It prevents valid criticism, and both sides really don’t help.

@Hyena_socks funnily enough what I was referring to wasn’t a female protagonist, or her race. I’m all for diversity. BG3, TLOU2, Horizon (great game even if I wasn’t too fussed on the gameplay, I’m more into soulslikes), Uncharted Lost Legacy, Alien Isolation…. I mean I could go on. Many of my favourite game series and games have a great deal of diversity in them, and I love them because they’re well done and well written.

I watched a couple of trailers for this game and it came off as mean spirited and lazy. The writing for the main character seemed smug and arrogant, and when you do that (Hi Forspoken!) in a way that alienates a lot of potential players, it’ll mean you fail.

What I meant was that writers and developers need to up their game with writing and design, instead of just aping what they think will work and then screaming misogyny when nobody buys it.

@get2sammyb Robocop Rogue City, Terminator Resistance, Hi Fi Rush, etc. all A to A- tier and sold well. If you make a solid product people will buy it.

I’m loving this. Let’s just hope Sony get the message and start making decent A tier single player experiences alongside blockbusters, and focus on one or two MP offerings that are actually good.

Nintendo is Nintendo, it’s got its audience and it does what it does very well. It’s not a threat to PlayStation, it’s an accompaniment.

I wouldn’t have bothered as it’s another GaaS, but I’d love something like War for Cybertron again.
