I never believed this was metal gear or anything, I wanted to have hope but right from that first footage shown it didn’t feel like Hideo or Metal gear in any sort of way. Of course I always keep a little hope for any sort of metal gear to be announced, so I was still keeping up with the game.
The other day the director said that being linked Kojima has hurt their game so far, which is ridiculous to say after they post a photo of a guy with an eyepatch, the only reason anyone cared about this game was because the theories, now they have really embarrassed themselves.
@mrtennis1990 I am hoping Efootball can stop that, if that is successful it could really change the way we play sports games, I buy NBA2k every year and I will continue to do so but if EA bring out a completely free game with great gameplay and features then I will certainly give it a shot.
@doctommaso it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Kojima and Konami made up and worked on a metal gear again, I would absolutely love to see that but I really don’t know about this.
Is it really Hideos style? The only sort of footage we saw was some weird 1 minute thing with a girl explaining what sounded like a really simple story for a survival game. Since then it hasn’t gone smoothly, the trailer continues to get pushed back and right now a lot of people have given up on this game. I feel like if this was Hideo we would have already gotten a legitimate trailer. It wouldn’t surprise me at all of this really does turn out to be some random indie game where the company have simply taken advantage of all the conspiracy theories around it.
A lot of people are down on this right now but I think it’s a fantastic idea by Konami. They had themselves a nice franchise but they were never beating Fifa, now they will open it up to more people, this could go really wrong but if they do it right then I have a hope that this can really change sports games.
Everyone who follows a sports franchise is so used to buying a new game every year, I already pre ordered NBA 2k22 even though I feel 2k21 was a huge step backwards in multiple ways. The games being free could bring back a lot of fans who are tired of the usual routine.
I feel like the ultimate team type modes could really benefit from this, I play my team and I think it’s a great mode but 4 months in and they are already bringing out the most powerful cards, a few months after that everyone in the game is a god. If a game is free to play without new entries coming out every year it will force them to look at a mode like this and tone it down, I don’t care if it’s fantasy, I want my players to have strength and weaknesses like in real life.
I am not a soccer fan but I have enjoyed some of the games in the past, I haven’t bought one before but I could see myself giving this a try, if the gameplay is fun and there is a competitive mode where everyone builds their own unique team then I feel like this can bring in plenty of non soccer fans.
All these coincidences are pretty strange but watching the trailer it just doesn’t feel like a Kojima game. With TPP it was the trailer itself that first got people talking, if you watch this trailer without knowing anything it doesn’t feel like Kojima.
Hideo and Konami need to make up and collaborate for another Metal Gear game, either that or Konami need to start more games on their own, I need more metal gear.
It’s pathetic that you still can’t play most Metal Gear games on PS4 or 5, I haven’t played through any besides 5 and Survive in 6 years, I definitely feel the urge to play through again but in order to do so I would have to find and dust off my ps3 which is pathetic. Release the legacy edition on PS5 and I will pay money for it day one, I’m sure it’s the same with a million other people.
Death Stranding isn’t my thing at all so that trailer was just flat out cruel.
Witcher 3 would be a hard game to get into these days. I don’t think it aged very well at all, I remember playing it in 2017, felt really clunky and you really gotta work to get used to feel of the game, then I took a break for a few weeks after I went overseas, when I tried to play again I had pretty much forgotten all the controls and I couldn’t be bothered relearning everything.
I think this is definitely an overrated game but if you take the time to learn the clunky feel then you can end up enjoying it quite a lot.
@TheRedComet I never got into Sam, a lost brother could have worked but I felt Sam was just unlikeable from the start, there are so many red flags about him, Sully is shown not to trust him, toward the end of the game it’s revealed Sam lied about everything, that is never mentioned, Sam isn’t confronted about it or anything. There was no point having that reveal if nothing was ever gonna come of it. It would have been far more interesting if Sam wanted revenge after being left in prison for so long, something more interesting than long lost brothers reunited.
The gameplay itself I felt took a step back, the driving was cool but the set pieces compared to 3 were pretty forgettable, the melee combat system is just the same as TLOU, 3s was never groundbreaking but it was better than just pressing square and hoping you win.
Maybe saying naughty dog embarrassed themselves with the game is too far but I feel it was a step back from 3 which shouldn’t happen when it’s a new generation and 5 years after.
@Stocksy I’m with you here, it reminds me of that avengers game, people complained because the heroes looked so similar to the movies but it wasn’t quite them, they ended up feeling like knockoffs.
Sully and Nate don’t need to look like they do in the games, they need to have the same fun personality’s and chemistry, if they can do that than this movie has a great chance of bringing in fans that have no idea about the games.
Naughty Dog already embarrassed themselves with Uncharted 4, so many mistakes were made in that game and it was such a huge step back from 3. This movie won’t have to try hard to have a better story than 4, then all they need are some good action scenes and chemistry between Nate and Sully, if they do those things it should be a really fun movie.
It’s not like the uncharted series is Metal Gear, it doesn’t have this long story where you need to have played every game to even understand, uncharted is a fun series with good characters, good chemistry between those characters and fun action set pieces. I’m not the biggest fan of Wahlberg or Holland but they are big names and give the movies a great chance to be successful, fans shouldn’t be so quick to try and crap on every little thing about the film.

I didn’t buy this game or play it and I don’t plan to. I was already on the fence after what they showed off at E3 but the leaks confirmed it for me. I can’t say the game was bad but it clearly wasn’t for me, the first game was fantastic but not so great that I was always gonna pick up the next one.
@jdv95 I don’t think gaming should go down that road again, the days of paying $60 for something and beating the story in 12 hours should be finished. I played Fallen Order recently and it was a fun game but I beat it pretty quick and moved on, it wasn’t open world so there was nowhere to explore and no real side quests to do, just not enough content in the end. It felt like a was playing a ten year old game in some ways.
I bought Spider-Man a week ago and it’s packed with content, it’s not always the most fun but it’s more of a reason to swing around the city and get into fights, it gives you more things to do besides focus on the main story and that’s great.
The better idea would be continue to work on the open world, after playing MGS5 a few years ago I could never go back to linear games.
I watched some gameplay on YouTube and I don’t think I saw a single positive comment. Everything was negative so I don’t think it’s all review bombing, a lot of people gave it a chance and are regretting it.
I think ND went too far with the agenda, after the first trailer of Ellie kissing that girl I lost interest and after the leaks I decided not to buy it, video games are meant to be an escape, we don’t need such heavy PC kind of stuff in a game. I will admit that ND were very brave with this and you gotta give them credit for trying something this crazy but judging from all the people talking it seems to have missed the mark, it may have had record sales but I also feel like they have lost a decent amount of fans.
@Enuo is it really hated that much? It’s something I watched once and never thought of watching again but it was enjoyable for what it was. Now I might have to watch it again.
@Nyne11Tyme It’s disgusting that no company or at least celebrity have spoken out about the riots happening, all I see is praise for the protest and how white people all need to change. A 14 year old boy was shot and killed during these riots yesterday, families houses are being put on fire and the cops are having to fight through the rioters to try and save the family.
Cops are being injured and killed and the only thing people with influence are doing is paying the bail to get these scumbags back on the street. There is no meaning to any of this anymore, black lives matter and most people know that, the lives of cops and children also matter so it’s time to stop this craziness.

I might get the game in the future when it goes down just for the gameplay but from what I have seen the story isn’t for me, I think ND really need to relax on the agendas. Telling fans to F off because they don’t agree with some content in your game is extremely unprofessional.

For me, I would say uncharted 3 is the last great game naughty dog made, last of us was good and uncharted 4 was a let down for me. I think it’s clear that ND have their own agenda and now they are trying to shove down players throats, some of the developers have been have even gone as far telling fans on Twitter to F off if they don’t agree with the content in their game.

Then the whole thing about Joel no longer being the player character, these things took me off the game.
I won’t be buying this game and I’m hoping if they ever do another Uncharted they bring Amy back and Neil takes a backseat. The gameplay of last of us does look fun but the story clearly isn’t for me.
@Jaz007 not often I see that opinion around but I agree with you. U4 is the worst in the series, still not a bad game but it didn’t come close to the others, the story was a mess and I feel the gameplay took a step back from 3.
The others I have played through at least 5 times each while I played 4 once and haven’t had the interest of going back in again.

Witcher 3 would be a hard game to get into these days.
