We all know EA Sports loves a good buzzword, but FIFA 22’s advancements in motion capture – HyperMotion, as the publisher’s named it – does look to be a game changer. The functionality is exclusive to the next-gen version, and utilises Machine Learning based on a real-world match of football to completely transform the way the title both looks and feels.
Players will now adjust their stride relative to their position compared to the ball, and new close control animations will transform the way lofted passes and goalkicks are collected. There’s also a complete rewrite to the way goalkeepers react, in addition to revised artificial intelligence that will see attackers run into space and defenders work as a unit.
There’s some floaty footage in the trailer, but on the whole it does look like a step forward for the series. How are you feeling about this year’s game?

Seeing how much it costs to get the top ultimate team cards, makes me all hyper motion alright.
Whoever buys this game every year at full price I truly applaud you lol
@mrtennis1990
its a vicious cycle isnt it?
The floaty slow ball physics and banana shots still look like the fifa I remember from 10 years ago
Looks like the same old guff to me
“Sick bruv!” 😆
Unprecedented Motion Sensitivity Mood Swing Through Pass
@pimpjuice agreed. And people still have the audacity to complain about full price games.
I hate shaky cam in movies, but somehow shaky cam in FIFA trailers is even more infuriating.
@mrtennis1990 I am hoping Efootball can stop that, if that is successful it could really change the way we play sports games, I buy NBA2k every year and I will continue to do so but if EA bring out a completely free game with great gameplay and features then I will certainly give it a shot.
Will wait for this to come on EA Play.
Hard to justify buying the same game at full price every year. At least with EA Play,its $20/year for this and other games too.
