Will this able to be streamed on the Portal with the PS5 upgrade? Obviously it's a PS4 game so that's not possible previously but will the upgrade allow this?

Of course there's zero impact. What these physical fanboys don't realise is that they represent such a miniscule minority that I'd be like throwing a cup of water off the Titianic while it was filling with water and thinking you're making a difference.

I prefer physical, but we need to be realistic here, all digital has been inevitable for years. I wonder how many of the physical fanboys still buy blu-ray instead of using Netflix........ Same issue just different industry but I bet they aren't shouting off about that.....

As I've said before, all digital is inevitable and companies like Sony are not going to cater to a minsucle minority no matter how vocal they are. Boycott all you like, Capcoms figures prove that your lack of a purchase will not affect Sony or their all digital decision in the slightest. The level of physical purchases wont cover the manufacturing costs of releasing physical games and certainly wont go any way in covering the costs of producing a console with a disc drive. I 100% prefer physical but this is a route that everyone is going to take, not just Sony, so we may as well get used to it.

Maybe as an apology they can keep making physical seeing as how everything goes to a complete shambles with digital only....... I'm joking. All digital is irrelevant at this point, we all just may as well get used to it

And yet people still complain about them going all digital????? 100k people buying physical and you want to make a big deal out of it????? I personally prefer buying physical but I understand that if the market isn't there for it to make financial sense for Sony then they'll do what they want for the sake of their business and they wont care. This is all getting a bit ridiculous now. As of March this year there were 93 million PS5's sold and only 100k are buying the top performing games on physical, do you all realise how much of miniscule percentage that is??????? And you want to get angry with Sony because they're not going to pander to 0.1% of their install base? Go away now, you're all acting like spoilt brats.

@MrStark the problem is where else are you going to where corporate greed isn't the main priority??? You think Xbox cares about you and your feelings or Nintendo is bothered whether you like digital or physical??? No, all they care about is their profit margin just like Sony and they will do anything to keep growin that profit. Don't be foolish enough to think it's just Sony being greedy because it isn't.

These people complaining about this are the same kind of people who just deny change because they don't like it. I'm not really a fan on an all digital future without the necessary legal changes to ensure things can't just have access revoked, be delisted and/or deleted, but it's inevitable that an all digital change will happen. We just have to accept it and hope the legality around digital licences are changed to reflect it.

It's a simple cash grab from Microsoft. They have to start generating revenue from that Activision buyout somewhere. Absolutely ridiculous on their part to even think this was a good idea. Why would anybody want a 2010 game in 2026 without any enhancements at all???

Are there any improvements at all, like framerate or Resolution boosts or are they entirely the PS3 versions?

So before Xbox bought Activision we got Modern Warfare 1&2 remastered. After spending $60billion the best they can do now is a lazy direct port? Yeah thanks Xbox, so much for the deal making things better for everyone.

I think its a horrible decision but it was inevitable. They're just making the jump early.

And all the ridiculous Xbox Fanboys were delighted when they bought Activision. Those of us with our heads not buried in the sand wearing Xbox tinted glasses knew this would happen, but nobody would listen. It'll be good for gaming they said. It'll be good for everyone they said. It'll be a success they said. All BS statements at the time to hoodwink those that could (and should) have blocked the deal. The Activision purchase was a decision made to steady a sinking ship and it hasn't worked. There's more holes in the green ship now than there was back then.

If they support it like they supported 5 then £70-£80 will definitely be worth it. We all know the game will be a masterpiece, Rockstar never disappoints. Nintendo sold Mario Kart World at a similar price and that is nowhere near the level of game that GTA 6 will be.

Don't worry xBox will just do another 180 on this as they do with EVERYTHING else lately. Just give a week of fan backlash and they'll change their minds again.

What an absolute bunch of bumbling idiots over there at Xbox. They're literally making it up as they go along simply to appease a very small minority of the gaming community. Ridiculous really. They're becoming a laughing stock.

MS are definitely making it up as they go along because they're pandering to the whims and whines of a dwindling install base in the futile hope of turning things around. They're nowhere Sony anymore in terms of hardware sales and they never will be again. They may as well stick to being a multiplatform publisher as that's where their money is going to come from going forward. The last leaders of Xbox knew this all to well. They may have handled the situation appallingly but at least they got to the right decision eventually. This new leadership team is just being financially dumb by pandering to a vocal minority a bit like the British government ironically 🤪

@Deadlyblack yeah except PlayStation doesn't need Xbox money, but Xbox needs PlayStation money, so not the same really and it sounds as if this was targeted for PS5 from the beginning, it's finished development and now they've made a really bad business decision because of the moaning and bitching of Xbox fanboys who won't go out and buy the game anyway. Ot really is a dumb all round decision. Why get this far into development and just cancel 8t because of the whims and moans of a consumer base that tiny compared to what they used to have?

I love physical games but I'm starting to lean more towards digital. Having to get up and change games when we have the convenience of digital is just tedious now. Those of us who have been gaming since long before digital came along deserve the laziness afforded by digital after decades of getting up and down changing cartridges and discs. We're getting old, let us have our lazy gaming. Most of us work hard during the day, why should we expend more energy to enjoy our hobby?

Xbox tried to change the narrative because they've failed for 2 consecutive generations, why do we need "new data" to prove what those of us who prefer Playstation have been saying all along? I bought my Xbox One and then Series X simply to play Halo, Gears and Forza as I love those games, but now they're coming to Playstation I don't need Xbox consoles anymore. Unless Xbox do backtrack on their multiplatform strategy they'll lose players like me forever.

I guarantee those same people complaining would complain if it shipped on 2 discs.... "WhY CaNt YoU FiT iT oN oNe DiSc"......

It's taken ages to get to PS5 and it's still the aame boring rubbish it was on Xbox, in other news the sky is blue and water is wet...... It promised so much and delivered very little.

To release big patches they way they have so quickly tells me they knew what was wrong when the game shipped, had the fixes ready to go and waited for gamer feedback to decide which patches to release and when.

@TheArt except fhe reason they started releasing on PS5 is because they're not making enough money from software sales...... Surely that's obvious by now.....?

Of all the issues in gaming this is so so so so so so far down the list of things that need attention 🤦‍♂️

My first experience of Resident Evil was 2 on PS1. I was 8 and it terrified me. I've played all main line games since and my favourite is Requiem. It has a balance between horror and action which I personally enjoy, gameplay is smooth and I enjoy playing as both characters and how their actions in the world affect the other like available items changing depending on whether you've pucked them up as Grace or Leon meaning they aren't available for the other.

They're skipping PlayStation because when they release games as PS5 timed exclusives they have disappointing PS5 sales. You say so in your article them proceed to wonder why??? The entitlement of fans to complain when they've had their advantage of having an early PS5 release and not bought games, is it really a surprise that they've started skipping the platform 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. As usual the internet like to bitch and complain about not getting what they want yet don't realise it's their own actions causing the issue

Either people want the best games on PS5 or they don't. If the media isn't there to ship the game on a single disc to make it easy for everyone concerned and you're going to complain about a little download either move on and don't play the game, get it fully digital or get up of your a**e and and invent a format of game media that can store the entire game on a single disc. Games are getting bigger and bigger and the media isn't available to ship them on single discs, deal. With it.

They keep asking these questions because Xbox are doing it with all their ex 1st party IP's. The difference is Xbox games need Playstation, Playstation games don't need Xbox.

I thought it was really good. A bit slowish to start for me personally as there were a few too many swords flying around but it opened up after about 25 mins and I went absolutely nuts when MGS was shown. It's definitely the best State of Play I've watched.

@DennisReynolds yean someone from Xbox (I can't remember who) has already said the next "Xbox" will be a "premium box with a premium" price. She even said at the time that they don't feel like they're competing with PlayStation anymore and she made it sound like a choice that Xbox had made. As a console manufacturer at this point they just sound like a comedy act.

Why do people keep complaining??? It was never marketed as a remake or remaster, it's simply an update to make the PS4 version play and look a little better natively on the PS5. Stop complaining that they didn't meet your expectations when your expectations were completely wrong to begin with. The price point on the other deserves to be compained about. £50 for what they've given us is ridiculous. That's where the complaints should be aimed at instead.

Definitely a lot better now that I can directly stream digital games that I own but the imput lag, though it's to be expected, it's rather a let down as I mainly FPS titles or racing games. If they can somehow fix that it'll be it will be even better.

Remember the days when we actually had to get good at games instead of bitching about them because "we can't do it and it's not fair". This was the same when Star Wars Outlaws was released and people bitched about the stealth mechanics and Ubisoft patched it to appease the cry babies. Stop whining like children and learn how to play games ffs

Let's put this in dumb dumb terms shall we: PlayStation aren't our competition because we CAN'T compete with PlayStation. It really is that simple. All this explaining they've been doing is simply to hide the truth that well all know.

Of course she would say that considering Sony, along with Xbox's attitude has completely stripped them of their ability to complete in the console market. Their decision to go multi-plat with their biggest IP's is not for gamers, it's to line their pockets with money they can't get from gamers who aren't on Xbox. The quality of their top games is so far behind anything Playstation puts out it's ridiculous to think why Playstation would need to go multi-plat. Xbox are desperate to stay even remotely relevant they're just talking crap. I'm not a fanboy of either console, I have PS5 and Series X and. PS5 is just the better place to be.

The attitude Xbox have is ridiculous. I saw on purexbox that they said their next console is going to "extremely premium". What is the point???? They can't even sell the Series X and they think they'll get gamers to buy the "extremely premium" console??? They have lost touch with all of reality at this point.

It's utterly ridiculous, all I'm trying to do is to continue playing the single player campaign. I hit continue after selecting campaign then just get hit with a black screen. It shouldn't be this difficult to play offline single player just because servers are backed up. This is trash.

Why oh why am I stuck in a queue of over 300000 people just to play a single player campaign???? I hate gaming nowadays!!!!!! They have so much control over how and when we play it's disgusting.

I played the demo on Switch 2, I think I'll stick to Mario Kart. I don't know what it is but Mario Kart just feels better.

I gave it 9 purely because of the performance issues. Going through the forest on the bike at the end runs like s**t, some indoor areas drop frames massively to the point where 60fps barely looks like 20 fps and there's really no excuses for it. MGS3 is my favourite game of all time and the game itself is still the masterpiece I love to play and the modern day polish makes it that much better to look at but the performance needs to be better. Played through it 3 times already and about to start my 4th but it needs to be patched.

Really??? This is really the level of weak minded we've got to that people go in to a horror game and don't want the scares???? Stop the world, I want to get leave.
