When Crimson Desert was confirmed for The Game Awards, just about everyone thought it'd get a release date — but that's not quite the case.
Developer Pearl Abyss has dropped a new trailer — in which the open world PS5 title continues to look ridiculously ambitious — but we're left with a release window rather than a date.
The adventure arrives in late 2025, so we've still got a long way to go. The silver lining is that we'll no doubt be seeing much more of Crimson Desert in the coming months. A gameplay deep dive or two would be nice!
What do you think of Crimson Desert? Were you expecting it a bit sooner, given how much we've already seen? Try to fight an army yourself in the comments section below.

It looks like PS’ version of Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom. Hard to not see the similarities. Pretty cool!
Could honestly either be an absolute masterpiece or an absolute disaster
Curious to see how this game turns out
This could be my holiday game of 2025 if it doesn't trip over itself in future reveals
I think the game looks awesome but late 2025 can quickly turn into 2026 so Im keeping calm.
I wonder how this game will run on the PS5? Probably 1080P/30 fps 😄. Looks like a game that needs a RTX4090 to run properly with all the flying around and crowded environments.
@BIG3 Agreed. That could easily change
Nice, one of my most hyped games for next year 😃
Definitely looking forward to this one, let's pray it lives up to the hype!
I thought that looks crap then the video stopped being in 440p 😅
Is it just me, or are the voices in that trailer like temu versions of Patrick Stewart and Gerard Butler?
@mariomaster96 I feel like it could be a middling AC clone as well just to throw that out there
I remember my first time seeing this of that protag fighting the dragon inside a vibrant ruins, reminded me of the cinematic feel of Deep Down.
Kept it under my radar ever since~ 🧡
Is it me or did the game get pushed back AGAIN? I swear around gamescom 2023 when the gameplay trailer released, there was info about it coming out in Q2 2025. I am not irritated about waiting longer, they've had a lot of previews and footage to prove themselves with, but sweeping a delay under the rug is fishy.
