I agree with everything you wrote and here are my thoughts after playing the beta. Dark Zone sucks. They advertised it as a high-stakes off-limits area where anything is possible but - as expected - the only outcome is you getting killed by Rogue agents. They don't care that they have gone Rogue. Instead they are being rewarded from the game by being able to buy stuff from the DZ vendor. Now, I would be fine with all that if the best loot in the game wasn't locked behind a PvP mode. Imagine having the best loot in Destiny locked behind Crucible, a mode many people despise. There would be an outrage.
The graphics are solid but they would look better had we not seen the 2013 E3 demo. Sounds are pretty spot on and general gameplay is nicely put together. I have a few concerns though. In Destiny, albeit it being a short game in year 1, you had the Raids, Nightfalls, Weekly Strikes etc. What is the meta of this game? Roaming the city and giving canned food to homeless people? Not only that but - as you well pointed out - it's not a sci-fi where I can empower myself in flames and throw flaming hammers at enemies or glide in the air. Not sure if I can see myself roaming a deserted city for hundreds of hours.
Hahahaha. Ammo synthesis. You mean the stuff you buy with like, 250 glimmer? Or 2 coins? Or from Eris? The stuff you find in chests in the raid? I want to meet the guy who spends real money on ammo synthesis in real life and shake his hand.
Oh no....in all their stupidity, this will be interpreted by the consumers as "Hurr durr moar free games!". Mark my words when people start "demanding" their extra free games with the January PS Plus update.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi it's just that people are still bashing on it and they haven't even played TTK. Yeah ok, Destiny year 1 was rough, I was there for about 700 hrs. However, they obviously received feedback and changed things accordingly. I just think people should give it a chance, it's a blast to play with friends.
Returned to Destiny after about a month's break. Really, it doesn't deserve all the hate it's getting. Ever since TTK launched it's been a proper game, SRL was a blast with great rewards and it seems we're getting a new January update with new content for free. The game is actually fun to play.
Meh....huge Borderlands fan right here and I only managed to play the stress test for 4-5 hours before I got bored. I know I shouldn't be comparing this to Borderlands but their inspiration is pretty clear and it's GBX and I want a new BL game so don't judge me.
@naruball hah, you can ask as many questions, this is what the comments are for. Uh no I didn't but I know the type of game, it's an aim-and-shoot type where you mostly control just your aim and defeat hordes of zombies. I actually never bought a PS Move game, I just tried the demos. The best "peripheral", if it can be called like that, that I bought has always been the Vita.
@naruball Mostly the demos that were out, like table tennis or volleyball and nah, I don't have enough room to fit 2 people standing up next to each other waving their arms. Off topic but bonus points for your Lucy Lawless / Xena avatar.
For me it's simple really: Whether it is called PlayStation VR or Oculus or Microsoft's device, I simply cannot see myself sitting in the living room and putting on a helmet to play a game which most of the time will require you to stand up by the way. I had bought the PS Move and yeah, it was on a shelf a month later.
For me it was something something "OMG HARADA IS ON STAGE" and then he trolled everyone by saying something everybody knew.... something something "OMG GRAN TURISMO ON PS4" hah nope, not GT7.... something something goodnight. Not cool. Those two games were primarily the reason I wanted to watch the show.
I have said before in the past, I HATE the glossy part of the PS4 with a passion. I actually hate anything electronic that has a glossy surface, the screen of my laptop is matte and so are the surfaces on my smartphone. I would pay 20€ just for one of those faceplates, preferably the black one, to switch the HDD cover. I don't even care if 20€ would get me 5 of those or 1, I really, really want to change the HDD cover.
There are very few indie games I'd like to see on PS Plus, one being Shovel Knight. A platformer in which you have to die over and over to learn how to get past the level is not my cup of tea.
Jak & Daxter is probably the hardest among the trio that are on PS2 (with Sly and Ratchet). Huge fan though, I love all equally and I want them all to continue exist and be relevant,
I didn't think I would find this article interesting, but I was as interested in it as your family watching the gameplay...I wanted to read about their reactions. When you show such things to people who are not too heavy on videogames, you get some amazing and unique feedback on things that a hardcore gamer wouldn't notice or bother about.
The fact that we consider the concept of "who will pay more money for DLC first" a great thing for gamers, is baffling to me. Since I am indifferent about CoD, Activision has a massive catalog of companies and games under them, so I hope for certain franchises to come back....
Sammy, you just can't get enough of the puns huh? Anyway, the first Ratchet & Clank is what introduced me to the series and I've been a fan since then....I can only get so excited about a new R&C game, but I do have second thoughts because from my understanding, it's a re-imagining of the first game which everybody pretty much knows all there is to know about it.
To be honest, I am a sucker for the Darksiders franchise, I love that stuff. I imagine Darksiders II will be 60fps / 1080p and with all DLC? Hmm maybe they should have included the first Darksiders as well

Re: Pre-Ordering The Division on PSN No Longer Gets You Access to the PS4 Beta
Ι did that two days ago. Watch as the servers get flooded with hundreds of thousands of extra players and at the end, nobody will be able to play.
