These are the sort of games Sony should be investing in. Unfortunately this probably won't get a physical release. Twenty quid is a nice price but still to much for a download for me personally. Will wait for sale.

Would like em all, but don't buy Edge magazine anymore. Haven't for years, it went down the pan ages ago. Reviews are crap now, the articles within are rubbish, got thinner, and most of the mag is adverts for the industry. When it first came out all those years ago it was brilliant. But the industry/consoles were more exciting so that probably reflected in the magazine.

16 bit will always be king of this genre, much like the Shmup scene. But this looks promising.

My favourite genre of gaming, practically all I play is retro shmups. This looks great, but have heard mixed reviews about people who have played the demo. I will wait to see reviews before I jump. Personally not retro enough for me.

Looks amazing, but it should be on PSVR 2!!

I bought one at launch, wish I hadn't. The price was a lot, but I hoped for that big investment. Sony were invested to, in making some incredible VR experiences. But basically they have stuck two fingers up to the user base. Let's just say I won't be buying VR again, especially from Sony I'm done.

@Daz1380 yep did the same, shame really, nice tech let down by wi-fi. Well at least mine anyway.

@SystemAddict couldn't agree more, all this soulslike crap just destroys the fun in gaming for me. Can't stand when you fight for your life to kill a boss. Only to be killed instantly from the next, because you can't level up or haven't got a particular power. For some it may spur them on for me I just get pissed off & walk away.

At last something that appeals to me.

@invictus4000 yes I'm with you 💯 just like you I spent over £500 on the damn thing. The least they can do is support it !! And yes if they would of announced Rescue mission as well. Then i would of felt some consolation. For me personally I'm done with VR especially from Sony I won't be buying VR3 that's for sure.

@invictus4000 couldn't agree more, if they can't be bothered to bring the new Astrobot to VR2. At least convert resue mission for God's sake!!

@dark_knightmare2 yes the tides are turning, gamers are getting sick of em. It's about time devs get the message as well. The PS3/360 era was the golden age for 3rd person story games we need them back. If the devs poured the time & resources into this genre then everyone could be happy. The new Gears is going to amazing along with Astrobot. It's about time Linearity made a return.

@TurboTom that's fair enough, the VR2 uses one wire. From headset to usb.

What a joke of a preview, lost me with the oh it's an Uncharted style area. Heaven forbid its "LINEAR" as if its unacceptable!! Has it not crossed your mind that some of us gamers welcome linearity In games. I will wait for a proper review, or will judge it myself.

@TurboTom PSVR 1 had some really good stuff on it. Dont get me wrong the support wasn't strong. But when Sony committed to releasing VR2, i really thought they were serious about the tech & thought the support was going to be something special. Its really annoying as the headset has brilliant tech. But yes I was wrong it looks like they couldn't careless. Obviously sales were low. But without great content what did they expect. Great software drives hardware that's the way it works. Let's just say I'm done with VR especially from Sony. I will keep the headset for now at least.

@TrickyDicky99 hey I own one, I know exactly where I stand with regards to VR2. Sony has let it sink like PS Vita.

Personally that Says it all !! an official kick in the teeth from the developer himself. They should at least give us Astrobot rescue mission, being as its VR to VR experience. Surely that's not to much to ask for.

@TurboTom if you played rescue mission on VR1, Believe me you would have a different outlook. Dont get me wrong the new one looks amazing, & I will buy it. But for us VR2 users it really feels like a in the teeth.

@Absymbel my expectations are always low now. Not many gems in the sea of ***** that's out there unfortunately.

@Absymbel yes it has mate, hopefully soon. With regards to a new Axelay I wish 🤞 it worries me they will probably spoil it nowadays though. Adding unnecessary crap to appeal to the new crowd. Instead of keeping old school.

That's the ***** show the industry is now, the forever obsession with tech specs & the cry babies wanting 4k, 60fps, raytracing is never ending. Unfortunately the ones moaning about dev times & lack of games are the cause of the whole problem. Expectations are so high its getting ridiculous.

Game looks crap anyway, no doubt demon souls in a different skin. Definitely not interested now.

Stunning game for sure, but a VR2 mode or rescue mission VR upgrade would be great Sony thanks!!

4k 8k 60fps, couldn't care less, its about great games. Something devs & gamers alike seem to have forgotten about.

This actually proves that gamers obviously want change from the ever ending openworld, roguelite, Metroidvania ***** that we get week in week out. Wake up Sony & the industry!!

It proves to me Sony don't give a ***** anymore about what gamers want. They have got complacent, obviously the lack of competition has made then arrogant. I'm more pissed off I bought VR2, no real support & commitment for the hardware, especially now with Astrobot!! They obviously don't care about there fanbase. Let's just say I won't be buying VR3 & PS6 for that matter.

Suck it up!! Funny how pc gamers belittle the consoles. But deep down they really want to play the amazing games the likes of Sony produce. Create an account, simple really lol 😆

Something amazing on VR2, hopefully Astrobot would be great. To justify that ridiculous price I paid for that damn headset. To be honest will probably sell on if nothing great shows up this year.

And another gaming franchise ruined, why the F**k does everything have to be open world FFS.

Had mine at launch, the lag & latency was terrible. Sold it on unfortunately. But I purchased a Steam deck and loving it.

Haha all the hype and this, the moral of the story is don't get over excited about anything nowadays.

Didn't enjoy the demo, looks fantastic but the clunky platforming was painful. The review just about sums it up to be honest. Might pick it up in a few years when it's dirt cheap & it will be.

Amazing games, wouldn't surprise me if it's canned. They have to concentrate on producing as much ***** as possible instead of quality releases.

Brilliant game, have this gem on my Dreamcast & arcade.

@Specky exactly what im saying, imagine Motorstorm on PS5. But they don't care, because it won't make enough money I expect. This is why Greed is killing the industry. It certainly isn't about what gamers want its about what they want.

That's one of the reasons I don't play online. Can't stand all the cry babies, or the competive idiots who take it to far. Like games I can immerse myself in without distractions.
