Great, now make it permanent. I do 90% of my online gaming on PC. Having to pay a fee to play online on the playstation is just tedious. I'm not interested in the monthly games and originally that was what PS+ was for on PS3.
It's like a crap pc that can't be upgraded, and is weaker than a 5 year old console and costs more... Who is this for? I'll stick with my current PC and consoles, thanks.
Grinding for materiels and the slow as hell story killed this for me. Doing the same crap over and over to be able to level up characters so they're useful is slow and boring, and the story pacing is poor, slow cutscenes that don' just get on with it.
Why are so many morons saying good or about time or they should have done this ages ago? People are still buying games for it and using it, so why should any services be deprecated? Not like they're putting masses of resources towards this.
@dodgykebaab Yeah pretty much. Though I have bought physical versions of games just cause they were cheaper too. And with stuff like the GTA trilogy that I got dirt cheap on Xbox, with the smart delivery thing it's the Xbox One versions on disc, it had to download the Series X version.
@MrPeanutbutterz I don't want to skip it, I just don't want small progress to take hours. Games should be fun not work. Forza Horizon is the opposite end, being too generous with cash, but at least there's tons of different race modes available very early on.
@DonkeyFantasy If 5 hours into a game doesn't let you pick any one of the tracks to drive your car on, that sucks. The FACT is you need to spend a good while unlocking the tracks. The FACT is a lot of the cars cost a huge amount. The FACT is most races don't pay much and it would take a long time to get enough credits just to buy one of the pricy cars. The FACT is they sell you ingame currency in what was a full priced game. Yeah, I'm right mate.
@DonkeyFantasy Of course they would be an issue. Grinding on the game for hours on end to have the money to buy 1 car that costs a fortune is no fun at all. A whole bunch of them are priced stupidly high and I don't wanna waste my life grinding through races for hours to buy a car in a game. Unlocking all the tracks doesn't take no time at all cause you have to do all the cafe missions, which for the most part are slow and boring to progress. With how open and free games are these days this feels like some 90's crap where they have you go down a specific path to unlocking things instead of letting it be open to choice like most racers are now. And no, you can't pick any car and drive it on any track for the exact reasons I mentioned. There's no arcade mode like the classic games, cars have to be bought or won to use and tracks need to be unlocked. No I didn't want cars just thrown at me like Forza, but I also didn't want it to be a slow grind with in game prices purposefully inflated to push people into buying credits.
I've probably only put about 5 hours into this since I got it like 3 years ago.
I assume you still can't just pick one of your cars and race it around any track you want? Still gotta go through all the cafe missions to unlock tracks? Are cars still expensive and the prizes still small, with in game currency being purchasable with real world money?
@lazarus11 Are you using a 3rd party pad or something? It's not too light, it doesn't feel cheap, it's good and solid. And unlike PS pads I've not had any thumbsticks get drift yet.
@carlos82 Right, but given it's something games need to support, its use case is obvious. I don't see anyone using this in CP2077. And downclocking your cpu and gpu user less power even in less demanding games. If the PS5 is running high clocks all the time even running easier stuff then this makes sense to cut it back.
@carlos82 Because it won't be worse performance? As I said it's for low powered games where you don't need the machine running at full clocks. Hollow Knight or Stardew Valley aren't exactly demanding, so why not drop the clocks and save some power?
They're just ok, especially considering the price increase for these "free" games, as you call them. And how throwing a few decent ones in doesn't excuse all the rubbish added to pad it out.
Couldn't give a toss. If you actually have strong feelings about this going to Xbox and don't want it to happen... Go for a walk, smell the plants, look at the birds, and realise what you're wasting your time whining about.
@graymamba Why would they? If it can look like that on a PS5 then it will be able to look just as good in a higher res on a midrange pc. Not much to complain about there.
Be interesting to see how this turns out. If it looks like that and runs at 60, I'm guessing it will be 1080p at best on the base PS5, and 1440p on PS5 Pro. Shudder to think what the Series S will run it like.. 540p lol
@Nexozi "Switch 2 with 1 game and less power than an Xbox series S will never be able to match playing on PS5 / PS5 Pro"
That's not a preference lol, that's your inner fanboy showing. But sure, try and change the direction of your comment.
The main selling point of the Switch is the Nintendo games. Lots of us hardly use it portable, like me. Playing it on a big ass OLED is much better. Funny you say the Switch won't run games like GOW and Tsushima. They're both on PS4, and Switch 2 absolutely can run PS4 level games.
Funny again how you're trying to change the narrative into me hating nice graphics and I don't allow others to have other opinions when I'm the one who said games can be great regardless of if the graphics are good or not, that doesn't mean I don't like good graphics. And also pointing out your whining about the Switch 2, you're the one having the limited opinion of what to play. And hilarious that you say I'm not the main character lol. Have you heard of projecting? Cause it's what you're doing right there. Oh and congrats on liking your own comment lol. But hey at least you said you'll ignore me now, so that's good. I'd hate to be associated with someone like you with such a closed mind and hypocritical word bending manipulative ways.
@Nexozi You just argued that Switch 2 can't match playing a PS5 on TV cause it's less powerful lol. You're literally arguing better graphics = better to play. And what hassle? I install a game on my PC and play lol. And yes, you are confused. You argued that more power = better to play, so I pointed out that my more powerful PC doesn't mean the games will be more fun to play than on my PS5. Forget dumb takes you apparently can't understand any take lol. PS5 launched with loads of multiplat ports just like Switch 2. The only exclusives it got were Sackboy, which is kinda good, Astro's Playroom, which is awesome but not a full game, and Miles Morales, which is super short and kinda bland. Hell Demon Souls was probably the best game at launch, and that was just a remake of an old game. I'm enjoying this launch much more than the PS5 launch.
@Nexozi dumb take. gameplay wins over graphics every time. And Nintendo games are a lot of fun. My PC absolutely decimates my PS5. Hell it decimates a PS5 Pro. Does that mean playing on PS5 can never match playing on my PC cause the games look prettier and have a higher framerate? Also new consoles don't start with a massive library. I'm sure this is news to everyone. At least a bunch of past games got free patches to look and run better, and the 2 Zelda updates that add new features. MKW might be the only exclusive I care about right now but that's fine, it's awesome. What did PS5 have at launch to care about? Astro's Playroom? lol.
I've been loving playing Mario Kart World and Tears of the Kingdom with the new update and my old phone propped up next to me running the companion app, while staring at my 48" LG OLED. My PS5 hasn't been turned on in a week, and that was just cause my nephew wanted to play Teardown ha ha.
Funny how PS3 had loads of media functionality and BC with PS2 (at first) and PS1. PS5 can't even play music CDs. Can no longer stream my music from DLNA server like I could with PS3 and PS4. And back compat is just PS4 or go buy the games again on the digital store, and no native PS3 emu. It's pretty poor. They could have had full PS1 and PS2 back compat using discs, they could have done select PS3 games that could actually be emulated on PS5. But no.
Meanwhile Xbox at least tries with various stuff. I have assorted original Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One games on disc that work on the Series X. It's not perfect, as many don't work. But it's better than nothing. And various games get their FPS boost mode and Resolution boost mode too.
It will be 30fps with drops on standard PS5 I'm guessing. And more stable 30fps on pro. A 40fps mode would be nice but I wouldn't count on it. Deffo no 60fps. PS5 Pro is still using an underclocked Zen2 CPU from 2019 after all. Will have to wait the expected extra year for it to come to PC to attempt 60.
I mean.. Yeah? They want some ROI and that wasn't gonna happen with it only being on PS5, hence the PC version. Will probably come to Xbox eventually too.
8. If they could fix the 20 year old bugs it would be a 9. Looks beautiful with the upgrades and has some great quests in there I remember playing on the 360 in 2006. I hear performance is weak ok consoles and weaker PCs. I'm playing medium/high using 4k dlss and it's usually 60 except for various areas in the overworld and stutters here and there. Is very beautiful in places.
People keep going on about Balatro being good, but I don't think it's my type of game. I'll give it a go though, but doubt it will catch me. Don't care about the other 2 though.
