You know what? I really think you guys should write about Valor Mortis and Routine from the pre-show segment. Those two excited me more than most of the stuff above.
Not much for me on the PlayStation side of things. My partner will like the Cult of the Lamb expansion. Meanwhile Indiana Jones coming to Switch 2 is exciting.
Other than than not lots that interests me this time round
The announcement that Silksong will have an announcement sort of overshadowed the whole event for me.
Unbeatable looked sort of cool though. Obviously Resident Evil does too.
Henry's come to see us!
Danshattack was my game of the day. Out there, new and colorful. It's nice to be surprised. Sammy did a good job writing it up, crazy Dreamcast vibes. š
@Scottyy Forgot about Valor Mortis, that looked pretty wild. Makes me want a Full Metal Alchemist video game. Though there probably is 1 and I just missed it. Maybe a mosou?
Edit: OK there were 3 FMA games on PS2 and maybe 1 each on DS and PSP. Wasn't familiar with the name back then so probably wouldn't have paid them any attention.
@rjejr
I meant to watch those for so long. One day hopefully.
Only like two good announcements here
@rjejr If I remember correctly from my old X-Play/GameInformer days, every FMA game was s***. So might as well pretend those don't exist and continue hoping for a FMA game.
Don't really know what you would do with it, though... It would work as a Musou, but that's the most boringly competent type of game you can make out of an anime. Maybe a more traditional hack-'n-slash with super open-ended combat based around an alchemy system, which requires resource management and encourages experimentation? Or an open-world where most traversal is done by transmutating things into vehicles?
@NathanKang Bubsy 4D and...wait, what's the second one?
Exclamation mark tie?
Other than LoTF2 that was kind of a snoozer.
@Scottyy Routine is an Xbox exclusive. I do agree that they should have mentioned Valor Mortis though.
@YoureTooSlowBro
Yeah, forgot about that. It releasing soon and Day 1 Gamepass are nice.
Kind of losing interest in Requiem the more I see of it.
@RoomWithaMoose I can picture it as 1 of those 2D cartoon looking fighters like Marvel vs Capcom. Not that I play those but I could see it. Or a 2D side scrolling fighter. I'd prefer it as a 3D story driven game but I could see it being difficult to get to work. There are enough fighting good guys and bad guys to do just about anything with though. š¤·āāļø
@Scottyy My family watched the 2nd anime a few years back and my wife and I watched the live action movie trilogy recently. Never watched the original, my kids told me not to bother.
Wukong 2 wins the show for me, most anticipated now even though it will probably be a couple of years away
@rjejr
I heard og show is the best one.
Swords of Legends is looking more Black Myth Wukong than Black Myth Zhong Kui itself.
Sad to say, the only thing here for me is the Sekiro anime.
Onimusha is going to be a day one purchase for me, but Iām on media blackout on that one.
I'm looking forward to playing these 5 games + 2 DLCs! Especially LEGO Batman and Ghost of Yotei, I loved their previous games.
I still need to finally play LEGO Batman 3 though, hopefully before 2025 ends.
2025
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants DLC - September 4th
Silent Hill f - September 25th
Ghost of Yotei - October 2nd
2026
Resident Evil Requiem - February 27th
TBA 2026
Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven Expansion - Early 2026
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
@Th3solution I thought I would mention you here ,just in case you were too busy with your trendy 'jetsetter' lifestyle to notice which upcoming releases were announced or had greater light shed upon them at this event. š
I was just wondering which of the upcoming titles might have taken your fancy? Admittedly, I know there is already a lot on your gaming plate, but I was thinking about the future... you see?
Anyway, I quite like the look of Silent Hill f (if it does, as reddit rumours suggest, possess Soulslike mechanics) and Swords of Legends and Onimusha: Way of the Sword ,for obvious reasons.
@BlAcK_Sw0rDsMaN Yes, between my jetsetting (š) I did find time to scan over the highlights and found a few things that piqued my interest.
Both Silent Hill F and RE: Requiem look like really great entries into their respective horror franchises. Iām more of a RE guy rather than SH, but both look solid.
Iām wondering if you think Lords of the Fallen 2 is worth a look. Didnāt you try playing the recent LotF game? Itās supposed to be a good Souls-like but I canāt remember for sure if you tried it.
Onimusha is something to keep an eye on, and of course Ghost of Yotei. Seems thereās plenty of horror and samurai action to go around! š
@RoomWithaMoose ehh, Arkham Lego Batman and Cult of the Lamb expansion for me. Bubsey 4D is a funny yet interesting announcement tho
@Th3solution I did play it, got through the first area before dieing to the first mandatory boss. I thought it was a very good game, as I said before, like a more 'muscular' streamlined Dark Souls experience. But I got sidetracked by Sekiro and other games and after my experiences with the Katana I couldn't go back to games w/out them, LotFd oesn't feature them afaik, also LotF 2026 looks like it will have significant horror elements to the point of being somewhat disturbing, rather than the traditional 'RE Shtick' type of horror, which I prefer, and I know Silent Hill f may be disturbing as well, but i am tempted by the prospect of it potentially featuring Katanas or look as disturbing to me as what I've seen of the recent LotF II footage from the trailer, SHf looks like it will deliver on the promise of being more psychological in terms of it's horror stuff, and the devs said they are trying to 'find the beauty in terror' ,which sounds intriguing, from a psychological perspective. How about you, are you suitably tempted by LotF II, Sol
Edit: Going off the fan feedback, LotF II might feature katanas, which might sway me, but it really did look like they had gone a bit too far with the 'horror' stuff in the sequel, from what I saw of the trailer.
@BlAcK_Sw0rDsMaN I donāt have any immediate plans to jump into the LotF series, but Iām keeping an open mind if this one reviews well. The only Souls-like that I plan to try is Lies of P, but only after clearing the rest of the FromSoft games first.
Likewise for SHf, I probably will want to try the recent SH2 remake before doing this new one, although Iām not clear how much carryover content will be present that requires a knowledge of the universe.
