As has been rumoured for months at this point, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is indeed getting an anime adaptation.
Excusive to anime streaming platform Crunchyroll, Sekiro: No Defeat looks pretty damn good in this debut trailer. A bold art direction is married to some brutally action-packed animation, and the result is what will hopefully be a gripping retread of FromSoftware's modern classic.
We don't have a date for No Defeat just yet, but we have to imagine that more info is heading our way soon.

Well this anime is more than likely going to confirm what is the true ending and maybe a sequel.
I wanted a dark souls anime/movie. But this is just as great.😍
I agree as this is excellent news!! Now, let's get a Bloodborne Anime along with ALL Soulsborne titles 😎🙏🛐🔥 Thank You in advance 😁🤞
@Nepp67 Didn't even think of that, surely the fight with Isshin is?
@Oram77 That would honestly be hilarious if they just straight up went with the shura ending lol.
@Nepp67 Shura does fit the "tone" of the game to be fair, always feel bad for Emma every time I do it lol
Looks cheap tbh.
The artstyle looks nice. But my question is why an anime adaptation after the game came out years ago?
@PuppetMaster Last of Us show came out a few months shy of 10 years after the game and that seemed to do ok.
I mean would you want to watch an anime that just retells the story of the game immediately after playing the game?
Looks like I’ll have to get Crunchyroll for a bit
@Sweetz Different is TloU has a sequel in 2020 and TloU part 1 remake released back in 2022. So it makes sense they made a Tv show, which was released in 2023, because the series is still hot / has a lot of hype. Not to mention the Tv show boosted part 1 remake and 2 remaster sales like a lot. There's a good momentum and synergy between the game and the Tv show.
Now for Sekiro, there's no sequel, remake, or remaster in the last 5 years. So the hype for the IP already dwindling down a lot. I can understand if they make the anime back in 2020/2021.
£29.99 getting its own anime, cool. Sekiro is a unique game tho.
The quality of anime/animations based on video game properties has been great over the last several years so I have high hopes for this, Sekiro is one of my all time favourite games.
For those who fancy a really cool samurai based anime while we wait, I cannot recommend Blue Eye Samurai highly enough, it really is fabulous.
