Yawnfest for me unfortunately. Literally fell asleep watching it.
Excited for the new RE, Code Vein II, Atomic Heart II, Stranger Than Heaven, ILL, new Onimusha, and End of Abyss. Blighted and Snap & Grab are in the maybe pile.
Really looking forward to RE9. For me, they Summer Game Fest was bookended by two games that I particularly want (Mortal Shell 2 and RE9). Other than that, it was a pretty so-so effort with just a couple of highlights; Code Vein 2 is another one that I am looking forward too, as well as the Lies of P DLC (which I shall buy tomorrow) and Dying Light: The Beast, and of course Mindseye, which I already have on pre-order. Atomic Heart 2 looked pretty bonkers, so I must get round to playing the first game...
Where’s the rest of the stuff that was announced. Trying to remember the one game that looked interesting. Had Abyss in the name.
ReR, Atomic Heart 2, Onimusha, ILL, End of Abyss, DS2, Mixtape
@ButterySmooth30fps Pretty much same taste there bro! That clearly deserves a totally non awkward chest bump 😌
Assuming that was actual gameplay, ILL is my most anticipated game from the showing. I thought the RE9 reveal was underwhelming to be honest.
@GnomishViking Yes they did.
It was.... meh. There were some good announcements like RE9 but the rest didn't really wow me a whole lot.
Was hoping the Little Nightmares remaster would get announced
ILL looks great to me even though it's not getting much hype.
I thought spiltgate 2 was gonna have some big announcement?
Glad some people are excited, but not one thing for me here. After the State of Play disappointment, with the exception of Sword of the Sea which looks great, I'm feeling this is the worst generation of games for me.
Oh well, more reason to just finally work on my backlog.
I'll take RE and Yakuza. Nothing else for me, thanks.
@crackeastwood a little nightmares remaster for what??
I'm looking forward to playing these 15 games, will buy them during big sales in a few years.

Showcase was a total waste of time for me. I watched 5 minutes worth of trailers in 2 hours that were games I wanted to see more from. Mina the Hollower and RE9 both look like absolute hits, but still…
At least the State of Play was worth watching and hopefully Xbox is too. Nintendo was listed as a partner this year, so I’m wondering where they were.
Sadly there was more crap to remember than good, RE9, onimusha, Silent hill and dying light could be one to watch, and Split gate how he went on about it before showing sounded like a revolution. Video starts, barely looks better than a late ps3 game..junk
And Arc raiders 2021 most anticipated....was it ? I didn't even slightly recall the original reveal,
Let's hope we get xbox games reveal tonight
Some okay content, I guess. Nice to see Mads on stage.
I thought the State of Play was way more entertaining and maybe had better games, too. But it is just like .. my opinion. I am sure that if I actually stack up the announcements against each other and remember every game shown, the longer showcase will win out. So, maybe I am saying that SoP held up quite well in the face of the competition.
I really like Splitgate 2's announcement, calling out COD for being a boring ever ending cycle of same.
A waste of time, 85% of it was the kind of filler-ware that is choking Steam to death.
Bit of a meh one this year, there were a few that I thought had potential but nothing that was a I must play this. Felt like a lot of it was just steam games as well hopefully some make their way to consoles
You forgot to list the more interesting of the two lego games lego voyager the co-op adventure from annapurna. Probably my top pick of the night having recently finished split fiction with my partner we're always looking for more co-op stuff
Started off with almost everything looking exactly the same! It was a good dark fantasy theme but weird that they all looked so similar.
Things got more mixed up and theres at least 8 or 10 titles Id like to try, but it didnt hit me as well as the SOP did a couple of days before. Maybe it was the presentation, and Geoff kept the titles coming fairly quickly, but there still felt like there was too much filler..
Tons of games to look forward to over the two shows though, and still the Microsoft show to come, Im enjoying the week.
@EfYI Calling out CoD for doing the same old thing... but then revealing that Splitgate 2 has yet another Battle Royale somewhat undercut that message 😅
Ill looked pretty sick (rubbish 90’s joke)
I personally do not care about any of these games, but still think the roster is pretty great. Asian developers are on the march again which brings me hope.
It was so bad that it was the last time EVER I'm watching SGF. Horrendous showing. It was basically a showcase for souls like ganes and MMORPGs with yapping about team sizes thrown in there.
Thats not everything? Where is ill?
I liked Atomic Heart enough to give a sequel a go but I hope the trophies aren't glitched this time around, was good fun and very weird in a good way, I especially liked the testing chambers!
RE9 obviously a good one too and I will take any decent side scrolling brawler so will keep an eye on Scott Pilgrim too!
Alot of Debbie downers here I thought it was pretty solid show what games are people expecting? Atomic heart 2 was the stand out for me, i also liked:
Mortal shell 2
chronicles medieval
Sega racing
Code vein 2
End of abyss
game of thrones war for westeros
Atomic heart 2
The cube
Marvel cosmic invasion
onimusha way of the sword
Felt that boxing
Killer inn
Arc raiders
chrono odyssey
Mio
Out of words
Splitgate 2
mafia the old country
Fractured blooms
Dying light the beast
Acts of blood
Lego party
Blighted
ill
Mecha break
infinitesimals
Stranger than heaven
Resident evil requiem
@Uromastryx Xbox show isn't tonight it's Sunday
As a show and pacing it was not very good but in terms of titles there was a lot to look forward to with RE9 being the top dog. ILL and Acts of Blood looks amazing as well. Other noticeable ones for me:
End of Abyss
Atomic Heart 2
Marvel Cosmic Invasion
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Stranger than Heaven
Cautiously curious:
Mouse PI
Mio: Memories in Orbit
Out of Words
LEGO Voyagers
Mina the Hollower
Deadpool VR
Dying Light: The Beast
Mixtape
Blighted
Infinitesimals
Into the Unwell
That list is about as good as a kick in the head, gaming is changing for the worst for me, nothing of interest.
I'm impressed there were that many PS5 games, the show felt very PC gamer to me. I suppose most games these days are on both console and PC tho. Maybe I'll stick to Sony and Nintendo shows from here on out, skip the others. 🤷♂️
Resi 9 has me stoked! I found 8 a real let down after 7. This looks good.
What with Requiem, Pragmata and Onimusha Capcom stole the show hands down. What a time to be a gamer.
@nomither6 Little Nightmares 1 remaster for current gen
@crackeastwood
It was PS4 Pro enchanced, so it is now 1620p and locked 60fps on PS5. I really think this is enough
All this hype for Some SE big announcement well we got an announcement but for some bs game that will get shut down in 3 or 4 months after release continuing dumping on SE this guys said no more exclusives what they do next they put bravely default remaster for SW2 only 😒😒😒 don't come crying saying that the game didn't meet expectations
Well, I know I'm in the minority here and, of course, obviously, without a shadow of a doubt, everybody (myself included) is looking forward to new AAA exclusives by Santa Monica, From, Insomniac, maybe Square, etc, but considering what was announced in State of Play and Summer Game Fest, and the odd Microsoft game popping up occasionally, there's just no scarcity of games to play, at least for me. Honestly, I'll have to filter the list of games I wanna play because I won't have time to play them all
Didn't even bother watching this since I won't degrade myself by watching Geoff smug punchable face ever again and even I'm a bit disappointed with these lineups. We're at the point where F2P gacha games are given platform on a game show now just because they paid for it.
Here’s a quick reminder that Mundfish (Atomic Heart, ILL) is financed by the Russian state.
So if you fancy them slowly chiseling away at our democracy, by all means, feel “free” to support them.🤷🏻♂️
@Prime_Objective Doesn't look 1620p to me. Loaded it up on my PC at the same resolution, low settings it looks significantly sharper. PS version looks 1080p at best
State of Play had less and even if not into some had strong Indies besides the big games.
The other shows had more and a lot of repeating genres, ideas and vibes.
Not appealing, forgettable and just same brain cell/mentality/inspiration repeated, that's understandable but also says a lot about humanity. Repeating passion/inspiration is just sad.
Not everyone will enjoy or experience everything financially or enjoyment/first experience but I wish they did as its so clear how bland many were at Summer.Game Fest and Future Games.
Lego puzzle game was cool, a few others said in other Summer Game Fest article, but yeah not a lot in Summer Game Fest was memorable or engaging, tons of horror or metroidvanias or other generic souslikes. The rest were ok.
Future game fest was better then last year........ saying only so much.
I did write a few done but most times didn't care to many were forgettable or don't care that much.
Fair golf management game, action platformers, fair puzzle.
Sacred Fire, Fading Echo, Hella (mouse co op.game), Call of the Elder Gods or whatever. Decent stuff, nothing amazing.
To me Romeo or Hirogana are my go to for State of Play/Future Games.
So much meteoidvanias, hoeor4 with no substance and a lot of forgettable.games.
Off show searches are better then in show searches.
Rally enjoying the shows so far my top 3 are summer of games
Future games
Sony state of play
Jurassic World Evolution 3 and Ill are the ones for me. Admittedly I will almost certainly wait for a discounted price for JWE3 as the previous two have not been worth the full price and factoring in DLC dinos it makes sense to let that one simmer for a bit. Need to see all the new features in full too.
