It’s surprising given the popularity of Mario Party that more companies haven’t tried to copy it.
Obviously, you can’t beat the real thing, but considering Nintendo’s effort only exists on its own platforms, there’s surely mileage in some kind of multiformat adaptation.
Anime Demon Slayer took a decent shot at the idea recently, but we reckon LEGO Party has a better chance of success.
Due out in 2025 across PS5 and PS4, this is pretty much exactly what you’d expect: you compete against your pals across boards inspired by various LEGO properties, like NINJAGO.

Along the way you’ll participate in over 60 different minigames.
The full release will feature online multiplayer with crossplay support, so it sounds like a robust effort. It’s due out later this year.

This looks like a good competitor to Mario Party. My kids were interested.
More games like this coming to PlayStation the better, imho.
To be fair a lot of companies did try their hand at copying Mario Party, they all just bombed spectacularly.
-Sonic Shuffle
-Disney Party
-Shrek Super Party
-Muppets Party Cruise
-Pac-Man Party
-Alien League
Those are just ones I remembered from back in the day. I recall there were many many others though. The key is quality, those games lacked it for the most part. Hopefully this LEGO game is top notch, MP could use some competition.
This looks like it could be fun
I’m ready for a GOOD 4 player couch multiplayer game with lots of mini-games and higher production value. Seems like indie third-party developers are the only makers of these types of games nowadays, and their games are only fun in REALLY short bursts…and usually only one or two of their mini-games are fun (and the rest are crap).
The various mini-game party game collections that usually get released either have too few mini-games on them, the games are dumb, or the games don’t have enough depth or strategy to keep anyone interested in coming back for more.
Knight Squad 2 is the only fairly recent example I can think of where my family and friends actually enjoyed most of the mini-games and wanted to keep playing more than just one or two rounds. I’m hopeful Lego’s game of games is at least as good as Knight Squad 2.
If any developer is listening, here’s how to make an impact in online gaming: Create a four-player couch co-op party game where all four players (on a single console) can challenge another couch team of four players (who are playing on a single console) to an online battle…and make it so the online game only requires one person on each couch team to have a PS+ account.
Looks good putting It on my list
My son's will go crazy for this ... They've played Mario party to the ends and back lol
