November may not be as packed as the incredibly busy October that we've just endured, but it's still got its fair share of big releases on PlayStation 4. Once again, we're here to highlight the games that we think look particularly promising as we continue the march into 2016's holiday season.

call of duty modern warfare remastered.jpg

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered

Release date: 4th November
Publisher: Activision

Largely considered to be one of the greatest shooters of all time, Modern Warfare is back and supposedly better than ever on PS4. Featuring reworked graphics alongside brand new assets, we're hoping that the genre-defining first person romp still holds strong across its campaign all these years later. Is there more excitement surrounding this remaster than there is an entirely new Call of Duty title? Sometimes, it certainly seems that way.

call of duty infinite warfare.jpg

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Release date: 4th November
Publisher: Activision

Taking its obsession with futuristic technology that's somewhat grounded in reality to the next level, Call of Duty is jetting off into space for its next mission with Infinite Warfare. That means zero gravity shootouts, exploding orbital dreadnoughts, and plenty of reasons for stern military men to get angry and start shouting at each other. Going by what we're seen of it so far, Infinite Warfare should make for a relatively refreshing change of pace as we move away from ground combat and go beyond the reach of our spinning blue marble.

sword art online hollow realization.jpg

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization

Release date: 8th November
Publisher: Bandai Namco

The waifu wars return in Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, but look beneath the anime tropes and we've got what looks to be another solid role-playing release based on the popular light novel and anime property. Something of a successor to Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment, Hollow Realization seems keen on expanding its scope, offering a bigger world to explore and a more engaging battle system. By all expectations, this should be the best Sword Art Online title to date.

robinson the journey.jpg

Robinson: The Journey

Release date: 9th November
Publisher: Crytek

Okay, so it may have a title worthy of a Shoryuken, but Robinson: The Journey whisks you away to the dinosaur-inhabited planet that your inner-child always dreamed of. An adventure game with some lush visuals and an impressive sense of scale, Crytek's otherworldly outing is the first major PlayStation VR release since the headset's launch last month. And while there may still be question marks over its longevity and moment-to-moment gameplay, its presentation is among some of the best that we've sampled on the unit.

dishonored 2.jpg

Dishonored 2

Release date: 11th November
Publisher: Bethesda

Even though there appears to be almost no widespread hype for Dishonored 2, we're fairly confident that it'll be another enjoyable supernatural stealth-'em-up. Sure, it looks a lot like the first game, but why fix what isn't broken? Previous lead Corvo's back for another round, and he's joined by the equally talented Emily Kaldwin, who can transform into creepy shadow things and all that. Player choice is once again a focus as missions allow for multiple solutions, which should, naturally, lead to countless impressive YouTube videos of especially creative kills.

watch dogs 2.jpg

Watch Dogs 2

Release date: 15th November
Publisher: Ubisoft

Watch Dogs is back and... it's got a personality? Yep, Ubisoft is trying extra hard - perhaps a little too hard at times - to pump some character into its sandbox property, and the result looks to be a much improved sequel. Gone is everyone's favourite walking trench coat Aiden Pearce, replaced by social media monster Marcus, who can apparently stuff £10,000 worth of tech into his satchel. Boasting way more hacking opportunities and a more colourful, lively, and dynamic setting, we've got reasonably high hopes for this one.

assassin's creed the ezio collection.jpg

Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection

Release date: 17th November
Publisher: Ubisoft

You cheeky buggers, Ubisoft - didn't you say that we weren't getting any Assassin's Creed this year? And yet here we are, awaiting a collection that features not one, not two, but three especially stabby sequels. To be fair, cocky Italian Ezio is still easily the best lead that the series has seen, so at least we know that we're getting a solid trio of remasters. Although we're not totally confident that the controls and general gameplay will seem all that impressive in 2016, this package could end up becoming good value for newcomers to the Creed.

final fantasy xv.jpg

Final Fantasy XV

Release date: 29th November
Publisher: Square Enix

Here it is - the big one. It's hard to believe that Final Fantasy XV is actually releasing this month - and no, we refuse to jinx this by joking that it won't. We've waited ten years for this bloody game, but will it live up to a decade of expectations? Honestly, we don't think that it has a hope in hell of doing so, but we'll still settle for a return to form for mainline single player Final Fantasy titles. Give us a good story, memorable characters, and a gorgeous world that we simply can't stay away from. Give us Final Fantasy.
