Our love for this man knows no bounds
In a recent episode of the PlayStation Blogcast, Sony's official brand mascot – and Worldwide Studios president – Shuhei Yoshida revealed his top ten games of the generation. The list, unsurprisingly, is exclusively populated with the platform holder's titles:
2. Demon’s Souls/Dark Souls (tie for #2 and #3)
3. Demon’s Souls/Dark Souls (tie for #2 and #3)
4. The Last of Us
5. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
6. Sound Shapes
7. Persona 4: Golden
9. Grand Theft Auto V
10. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Of particular note is the explanation he gives for placing Journey at the top spot. He describes his own personal connection with the online experience, as well as the story of a girl who lost her father and used the game to come to terms with her grief. It's an incredibly moving account and one that serves to demonstrate both Yoshida's love for the interactive medium and also the raw emotional power of the game. The interview starts approximately 1 hour and 24 minutes into the podcast.
What do you make of the loveable tyke's list? Would you have placed Journey in first place? Give us your top ten games of the generation in the comments section below.
