Back where she belongs

It may only be March, but Tomb Raider is currently the game to beat. Crystal Dynamics’ well-received reboot safely secured the biggest launch of the year so far, outselling 2013's previous best, the awful Aliens: Colonial Marines, by more than double. It’s worth remembering, however, that the title released on a Tuesday as opposed to the ordinary Friday. Nevertheless, it set a new record for the franchise in the UK, beating out the first week sales of Tomb Raider: Legend by some margin.

Elsewhere in this week's UK sales charts, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 fought its way into third, while FIFA 13 dribbled into fifth. Last week’s frontrunner Crysis 3 slipped down into sixth, while Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 remained a nuisance in seventh. As always, you can peruse the full list of movers and shakers through here.
