Uncharted: Golden Abyss Wins Best Handheld Game Gong

Uncharted was awesome, i still play it. But i would make a case for Gravity Rush. As much as i dont like it i can see why Minecraft won. And i think it was fair for Arkham City to win since IMO Arkham Asylum only lost GOTY in 2009 beacue Uncharted 2 was amazing. If Those two franchises were'nt onthe same cycle The Arkham games would get GOTY everytime.

Yeah, Gravity Rush is the best portable game whatsoever...But i didn't play Uncharted:GA.... was about buying it, but someone told me that it is not so good compared to Uncharteds from PS3. So i am waiting for price drop or maybe i should buy second hand from e-bay.... But anyway, Gravity Rush is the best....

i love mario 3d land but i have to agree that getting the uncharted experience on a handheld was excellent it deserved this.

hmm i prefer gravity rush more than uncharted GA...maybe its just me...

Gravity Rush is my favorite PS Vita game but Uncharted is excellent as well. I've played Uncharted, Kid Icarus and Mario 3D Land and I'd actually agree that Uncharted is the best of that group.

Arkham City was the right choice over Uncharted 3. The latter isn't a bad game but it was a step back from Among Thieves where as Arkham City improved on everything Asylum did right and delivered what I think is one of the 3 best experiences this generation.

There has been some great handheld games both on sony and nintendo this year, and in the next couple of months there are some big hitters on way.

I'm confused...what calendar are these people working from? This year isn't over yet, and Super Mario 3D Land was from LAST year.

I still haven't gotten around to playing Gravity Rush, so I can't say how it compares to Golden Abyss...but the latter was quite good. Best handheld game of the year? I dunno about all THAT...but then I'm approaching this from a perspective that separates the "feels" of handheld and console games, and I can't consider GA a handheld game by anything other than a technicality. I blame my days growing up with a Gameboy for this.

I loved Golden Abyss, even though collecting all the items was a bit of a chore due to the randomness of the drops.

Personally, I think it's a travesty that Uncharted 3 lost out to a Crapman game - but then I've never been into superhero games. Or movies, other than Spider-Man. For me, Uncharted 3 is the best game of this generation - the only thing likely to topple it is The Last Of Us.

I have uncharted, but I've been too busy to touch it yet cause I've been playing Resistance Burning Skies and Mortal Kombat (which is the best fighter, WHOO!!!) But now that I read this and peoples comments, I can't wait to play this game!

Is it funny that not one of Nintendo's games won? I'm not shocked at all Super Mario 3D Land was pretty good, same with Kid Icarus but Kid Icarus once you played through it once, got old pretty fast

This seems less like a "best game" award and more of a "game we arbitrarily picked out of a small pool of titles that where selected based on their mainstream visibility rather than on any sort of actual quality judgement" award.

Of course all game awards seem to be that. Its always "here's the games more people have heard of," not "here are the best games."
