Gutted for Landstalker, that was a brilliant game, possibly top 4 on the Megadrive for me. But against my favourite 16 bit RPG then it was always going to lose.

@themcnoisy good man! You spelt Ultima Online wrong in your picks, though...

As for MGS2 my claim to fame is once clearing it 3 times in one day collecting all dog tags in the process. I actually managed to get every tag and beat European Extreme mode too which was pretty tough. The hardest part was pressing square to survive the interrogations. Bosses one shoting you was fun too.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Twilight Princess is one of my favourite Zelda games. It's Ocarina of Time Deluxe. Though the game is very different in tone. It's not without its problems, the first two hours or so are a bit of a slog, but it really picks up after the first dungeon and it keeps getting better and better. The game has some of my favourite Zelda characters of all time. And it's one of the few games that has a companion who isn't annoying!

GTA is GTA. Not my favourite franchise by any means, and I've never owned the games personally, but they're always good silly fun when playing it at someone else's place.

Zero Escape 1 vs Zero Escape 2, that's a mean choice. It's one of my favourite game series, so both of them are high up my list, but I'll have to pick 999 over VLR here.

Why Metal Gear Solid 2? It's a game with balls, a lot of unconventional and daring design choices. It has a lot of flaws, but I prefer this unique experience over the Zelda-by-the-numbers.

And Another World... I'll probably be the only one voting for this. But man, this game was ahead of it's time. Cinematics, animation, narrative, all of it is so inspiring. Just like it probably inspired devs of Journey, The Last Guardian and Bioshock among others.

Tekken 3 is a game I really miss playing. I'd put 5 and Tag 2 above it, but neither of those are in this cup.

MGS2 I have almost nothing but fond memories of. Yes, it's tough to understand the plot, but there was still some genius I found into it, especially as I got older. The gameplay was also a great improvement over the original, and I enjoyed the Big Shell as a setting.

I own both 999 & ZTD, but I have yet to play either. Maybe one day.

@KratosMD Its crazy sometimes. Its one of the reasons we used to have a second round for the losers in past editions as it can be cruel. The games go into a random number generator once Ive established what games are in the round then plopped into the full list for all of the battles on my spreadsheet. I will send you a copy when the cups over so you can see how I track it all for future use!
